Perhaps that's why Yogananda had a Light that was more profound and cosmic than I can comprehend. But I guess it's not up to me to fathom Great Masters, but to learn from them and bask in said Light. The undoing of karma in that falling out no doubt also created bad karma for leaving him. I think it’s my human nature to wonder how much an advanced soul gets set back by this kind of mistake.

Yogananda left his own master too. The first gurudev of Yoganandaji was Shastri Mahasaya (Swami Kebalananda). But he was not a Swami and Mukunda wanted to follow monkhood, so he changed to Shriyukteshwarji.
. Wow! Well told story. Swami Dhirananda is new to me and now an absolute inspiration. I feel the same - that believing in one's own self is the most powerful, difficult, lonliest and truest path. Lonliness can be a powerful personal source for spiritual inspiration. It's not sad. It means making continual efforts to finding a higher source of fulfillment self acceptance and most importantly, belief. Yes, and who is the woman speaking?
