I really appreciate the fact that you started with the absolutely simplest room possible for the first lesson. It is kind of funny the it's an interrogation room though!
Could you explain, (or point me in the direction of the tutorial that explains) the difference in the two protractors? Also, the "preview" panel menu is not showing up for me, is this a toggle that perhaps I've clicked or unclicked, or an issue on my end with the webpage not loading properly? Thanks!

I want to back this post. I cannot see the panel menu in the preview.
Does your software have any method of annotating things inside of the virtual tour? For example, if i wanted to make a clickable bubble to give info about a room or item. Is that possible? Other virtual tour software has this.

Hello, lens height is the distance between your floor and the center of your lens. When using a 360 camera, you can just measure that distance directly. Please check this article to learn more information about this: help.metareal.com/en/article/lens-height-t8jh5k/
I guess my question is this: what did you use to get that 360 pano? I have a drone business and want to add another element to my real estate photos with virtual tours. I don't want to use matterport and am trying to just use my iphone.
You can use any camera you like, whether that's a smartphone, DSLR, or 360 camera. Just make sure you're able to create 360 panoramas with it (You may need a 360 rotator for the smartphone, and to learn PTGUI if you'd like to go with DSLR/mirrorless cameras). Since in your case you want to use your smartphone, you'll need to get a rotator. Take a look at the [Nodal view](nodalview.com/shop/en) Shop and might need a [subscription ](public.nodalview.com/en/)with them or the [VR kit](store.thevrkit.com/).

Just wondering is it possible to map out the floor plan using the ceiling instead of the floor? I got lots of furniture and is hard to find the corners of the room with a table or a drawer blocking it. Thanks!
How crucial is the correct lens height? It's not always the exact same height in all the shots. There might be a difference of maybe 20 centmeters. PLUS: Sometimes I have a tour that contains some spheres that were shot from a extra high tripod, but the height might differ, too. How can i deal with this?
I am a little slow here. You start off with a 360 pano already created. My phone only does 180. Do we need to have software to create a 360 pano before starting with metareal?
Hi, i tried uploading my pano images taken from my smart phone. it shows an error that asset is broken, your image aspect ratio is 3:1 it has to be 2:1. I tried taking pano with different resolutions, still facing same issue. is there any app which can take pano in 2:1 ratio, if not how do i upload pano's taken from mobile ?
You can use any of the following apps to create 2:1 panoramas with your smartphone: Nodalview Google Photos Microsoft Image Composite Editor Facebook 360 Photos
Editing is only supported for desktop devices right now, so you won't be able to edit with a mobile or table device. We also only fully support Chrome for editing (though tours should still be accessible on all browsers and devices)

It can be very time-consuming at first, but the more tours you do and the more familiar with the software you become, the easier it gets. At this point, a house like you're describing would probably take one of our team an hour or two at most to build
@@metarealstage Would it not be best to work using the ceilings as a reference point when getting the room shape and measurements as there doesn't tend to be much clutter on the ceiling! Would this not make sense? You normally have a clear view of the entire ceiling for squaring and measuring no matter how many tables and chairs are on the floor.

The pandemic kind of limited our options 😂. This one just happened to be the simplest tour we had on hand

Great video....in future it might be an idea to use an extra large cursor so we can clearly identify what you are clicking on and when.

My camera is a 360 camera. insta360 one x2 and all my uploads seem to be not being recognized as a 360 view. How do I fix it?
What do you do when there is too much stuff in the room to be able to see the corners of the room?
Please check out Basics Part 4. The kitchen in that video has a lot of furniture blocking most of the room, you can see how we deal with it there.
Good explanation
Loved the clear instructions but didn’t always catch on where the cursor was pointing. Try a bigger, highlighted, cursor next time.
