Integrity - Doing the Right Thing Regardless

As the old saying goes, integrity is doing the right thing when nobody is watching. It's based on a standard that elevates the rightness of our actions as held against the desires of those around us and beyond us who would choose lesser things. It's recognizing that contributing to the community of mankind is superior than contributing to myself as my own community. It's stating that the standards that would pressure me into being less than I am are the things that will drive me to be more than I am.
It's not about gaining favor with people, or aligning with selfish agendas, or embracing weak philosophies. It's understanding that right is right regardless of the attitude of the culture or the position of the people around me. It is doing the right thing regardless of the cost, knowing that doing anything less will only lessen the world around us while lessening the person within us. Living as a person of integrity brings an unparalleled richness to everything that we are while healing the world of everything that it has become.
