I personally would not set this up this way. Does it work, yes. But you have no separate control over it. You should just send your LR bus to a stereo linked pair of Matrices and send that to your PC. That way you still have a mirrored LR mix but you have a separate volume control that’s separate from your FOH mix. You can also add Dynamics and EQ for that send also. 😁
@@initialdluvr No. busses are a custom mix usually. They can be setup to be subgroups, pre/post fade mixes, etc.. you can add specific channels to them at specific levels and add dynamics other effects to it. Separate from the LR mix. A matrix is a copy of either the LR mix or if an already built mix bus. You can not specifically assign a channel to a matrix like you can a bus mix.
I think my church has ours setup as bus. I think it also sends out thru an aux out if I'm correct. Is this a decent way to send a mix over to our live stream? Also our live stream is all over the place some days. I still can't find a way to get the instruments and vocals not to clash. We just have accoustic guitar, digital piano, and bass going. Usually 2 males vocalist and 1 female. But they seem to always be louder than one another. Any clues. We us ecamm live to broadcast and a behringer audio interface..
If you have the need for a console like a X-32 or M-32 then your sound system is likely a lot more sophisticated than a simple P.A. audio feed. What sounds right in your auditorium can sound horrible to someone watching from home. You need to create a separate mix for your stream and if possible have a separate sound person monitoring and adjusting that mix, we used a pair of Bus Mixes for ours. The second sound person can use a tablet or PC with the X32-Edit software to control the Streaming mix, that incidentally gives you a way to train up additional sound people as they can start smaller by just working the mix for the stream before learning the rest of the board.
That’s sounds like a big step. Here is another video that might help you further refine your stream audio and settings. ruclips.net/video/pMnaiuC55RY/видео.html
You have been a LIFE saver! Solo pastor over here that has started the media ministry! We started doing this method main out thru usb to OBS. Now, I did the mix bus for the livestream according to your video, that way we’re able to modulate volume differently for livestream and FOH. Question is, how do I send out via usb the bus setup?
Thanks for the encouragement. Here are two videos that discuss using a MixBus for your stream. This was really helpful. My church and I are pretty new to using the X32 and streaming to OBS. When the audio comes in, it's a pretty quiet, but I fixed it in OBS with a Gain filter. Definite like and sub!

NEW X32 USERS: BACK UP YOUR BOARD's presets in setup-global-backup-export BEFORE updating to a new Firmware, unless you want to get rid of all of your presets! I am newer to digital boards, and may have updated firmware without backing up my board, because my brain thought updating firmware would be like an OS update where it doesn't delete your content, it just updates the software. Despite this major setback, your video has helped a lot with getting the x32 set up for streaming, and I will get to dive in and learn how to set up the board better now that all it's presets from the previous director are gone. Haha :)
I’m glad you found the video helpful. While this is a quick, easy way to get audio to a live stream you don’t have separate control over the mix for the house and stream or the volume output. I am so glad to have found you. We updated the firmware on our board (going from 3 to 4 version) and it appears to have wiped all the settings out. I am having trouble getting in contact with the person who helped get it set up for us so I am in panic mode. This is going to help a lot.
Thankyou Allan FANTASTIC step by step explanation I have been trying for weeks to get this to work. well done mate! don't suppose you could do a quick video on getting sending effects to the singer in their fold back wedges.
Thank you very much. So simple, but hard to figure out by my self. I hope you make a video for that matrix version and the routing for iem monitoring as well.

Finally!!!!... I have been scouring the internet for this. I even called the guys at Behringer and they couldn't help. I found a work around by using an mbox firewire device on my PC and running it from a stereo bus. Quick question? I want to keep the broadcast mix separate from the Main mix, can I use the same technique but using the Bus or Matrix channels as the output instead of the Main LR mix? Thanks again.
Yeah, I’m glad this was helpful. Here is a link to another video I made about keeping the house separate from the broadcast ruclips.net/video/RXMAb8XNeys/видео.html
I was trying to find that info since covid started, I streamed live music with mi brother using OBS and noticed I only get whats connected to IN 1 and 2, pre fader, I was trying to get to stream the mix, effects and all, but wasnt able to, until I found this video, Thank you so much! Ill try it soon
There are a few other newer videos on my channel that walk though using a Matrix to have different volume levels for your house mix and stream as well as running an AUX mix for your stream.
I’m glad this video was helpful. I will say that it was designed for people that do not have anyone in their venue live. I do see the x32 usd and I can record. but I can’t get any sound out . Please let me now what I am doing wrong . I have a s16 as stage box . Not sure if I have to do extra steps .
You mention recording which makes me think you are plugged into the USB slot on the top of the console which is not correct. Make sure you are connected to the X-USB card on the back of the console. Then, if you are in Windows you will need to download the XUSB driver from the Behringer website and then select that audio driver input on your streaming machine.
AllamHouse I do have it plug into the back of the console . Where it says ‘usb audio interface ‘ . I am using MacBook Pro . Do I need to download the drivers for the x32 aswell in a Mac ? Thanks for your help
Since you are on MAC you don’t need to download drivers, but you will need to go into Settings > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Microphone (on left) and then make sure your apps on the right are selected to be allowed to ‘listen’ to the microphone.

Hello Dave. I'm using the x32 compact at my church. After setting up the routing for USB streaming, I noticed that all mic volumes on the stream are perfect, BUT the combined music and instrument sounds are blurry or 'suppressed' so to speak. What could be the cause? Thanks
This specific setup takes the main mix and my assumption is that you have the instruments turned down in the house since they produce natural volume in the room. The more preferred route is to use a Post Fader MixBUS setup so you have the ability to modify the general settings (mix) for your stream. Here are two videos to help you along your journey. 1) MixBUS Stream routing across USB - ruclips.net/video/Vx4HjArTeZI/видео.html 2) Refine your Live stream Mix - ruclips.net/video/pMnaiuC55RY/видео.html

Hey, I followed the instructions, and when I plug in my pc it shows that the x32 is plugged in. The card shows that the main L and R are the 1 and 2 outputs. But on the pc no audio is coming through. Any solutions? Thanks.
Check out this short video that discusses some computer settings to check. Also, make sure you have the X-USB driver installed on the PC. Another thing to think about is that this video discusses a way to get audio that is okay if you do not have anyone in your venue, but as people return in-person you will want to have 2 mixes (house and stream). This video here walks through the setup I use every Sunday. ruclips.net/video/pMnaiuC55RY/видео.html Finally, if you decide to change, this video discusses the routing needed to get it across USB. ruclips.net/video/Vx4HjArTeZI/видео.html
Head to the Behringer website, search for X32, Go to the software portion on the right side of the webpage and then download the X-USB driver. Run the installer and you are good to go.
Thanks. Just learning all of this stuff. I am sure this is a dumb question, but do you show the hardware side of the process in any videos? I am just not sure how you are connecting from the board to the computer.
Here are two videos that might help you out. 1) connections: ruclips.net/video/xGt1z5I7blQ/видео.html Regardless of your mix, you have to select how you get the mix out of the console and to the world. This video talks about the three different methods for your setup. 2) Refining a Mix: ruclips.net/video/pMnaiuC55RY/видео.html The video you commented on is a quick way to get started, but having two mixes is more ideal… one for your house and one for everywhere else. This video presupposes that your house mix is fine and I walk you through refining your stream mix
This video was put out when many people did not have attendees (during covid) so the board only needed to support one mix. Now, as people return to in-person experiences it is best to have two mixes... Front of House (FOH) and stream. This video here discusses the routing to use a MixBUS for stream which will allow two separate mixes. ruclips.net/video/Vx4HjArTeZI/видео.html This video here walks through a custom setup to help refine the mix once you have the routing in place. ruclips.net/video/pMnaiuC55RY/видео.html
Great video mate, very informative! Do you know if it is possible to do the same routing for other outputs, let's say 3&4, instead of 15&16? I'm relatively new to this console so maybe this is a noob question :D Thanx!
Thank you for the video. We will be trying to use this for our recording. Our difference is that we will not be streaming through computer and OBS. We have a atem mini pro. My question is after we copy the main out, we would just skip the card setup of this plan. Correct? Since we will not be coming out through the card but out of the out itself and into the audio I out on the atem. Please advise. Thanks
If you are only using this console for the stream, you are correct that you can send out some XLR Outs to your ATEM. If it is running the house mix and stream, here is a video that I made of my exact setup and we run out XLR into our ATEM. ruclips.net/video/pMnaiuC55RY/видео.html
So you are talking about an OBS video if I understand correctly. I will say there has been an update to OBS not too long ago which now provides more input options from the 32 USB channels coming from the console. I haven’t used these new features, but it does provide some different setting options than what I have used in the past. I’ll see about making a video about OBS.
Hi Thanks for this simple an direct to the point to setup the output audio. Now, my question is , how do you setup the connection to ATEM Mini Pro (Blackmagic)? Thank you in advance for your help
The method discussed in this video is designed or those users connecting to a computer via USB. The ATEM Mini will require a slightly different setup. I can cover this in an upcoming video, but the basics are that you need to route your Matrix or AUX Bus to the auxiliary output 5&6 which allows you to connect to the AUX output 5&6 on the back of the console. You will either use a 1/4” TRS to 1/8” stereo cable or RCA to 1/8” stereo cable. This cable will connect to either of the mic inputs on the back of the ATEM mini.
@@AllamHouseI really appreciate the time in responding my question. I think that's what I did but, does it matter the cable? because I have a hiss or hum sound. I also change the settings from MIC to LINE, but with that change I don't have any sound, I just wonder if I need to do something in the X32 to send any signal and yes I am using the back AUX 5 & 6. I used to have the ATEM TV Studio and we decided to change it to the ATEM Mini Pro, but now we have the hiss sound, I already tried the HUM eliminators and a grounded electrical plug but nothing seems to eliminate the noise. I used to have the broadcasting from the PC, but with the Mini Pro I thought it was going to much simple but not really it wasn't, I am thinking in come back to PC broadcasting software and then to the Mini Pro but I haven't try it yet, Any suggestion will be very much appreciate it. Thanks I hope it didn't bother you so much reading. Samuel
SAMUEL LAZCANO many times hissing is either (1) a ground loop which could be tested by plugging the ATEM into the same power source as the X32. (2) cables from X32 to ATEM picking up noise if they are unshielded cables. (3) an instrument causing the hum which could be checked by muting all channels and seeing if the hum is still present OR (4) gain is not high enough per instrument to get above the general noise floor which can be checked by looking at the input level (top left meter next to the gain knob) and seeing if the instruments register between -12 and -9. I recommend plugging in Headphones to each piece to troubleshoot. Test at the console for buzzing, then test at the ATEM, then test at you computer.
If you need to get audio into the console from a computer it will usually come across USB in 1/2. This can be routed to AUX In faders or to the other standard channels if desired. You will need to use the Routing > User In settings to build some custom mapping or on the Routing > Input screen you can use the AUX In remap for a quick check. I talk about a similar setup for Zoom in this video here. ruclips.net/video/sC1bgnAvMow/видео.htmlsi=INaQ-tKwovNTijyW
Excellent video. Is there anyway to set a delay to MacBook Pro or a software I can set a delay in on MacBook when I am running usb out of x32 to MacBook due to sync issues with vide
what is the full set of gear, signal flow you are using in your setup? If you are running into OBS, VMix, or some other streaming software you will have the ability to delay the audio there. For example... my cameras run into a Blackmagic Video Switcher and the audio runs into it as well. The output of this device goes into OBS where I have a 300ms delay on the audio to align with my various cameras.
@@AllamHouse I have 1 canon Hf g20 that has a Mini Hdmi port that we use to get the video out of camera running to a Black magic ultra studio mini recorder.Out of that is thunderbolt to MacBook. For sound Is just x32 out with printer usb cable to MacBook USB port. The software I am using to stream is ecam live.
Exam has a setting that will allow you to delay the audio. I did a quick search and found this video which should help you find the adjustment. ruclips.net/video/0o06-T9AYZw/видео.html
This version is the most basic setup to use, but any changes you make will be reflected in your Mains as well. You might choose to run this mix to a Matrix, set the Matrix to go out the USB outputs 1 & 2, and then use the Precision Limiter to get your volume levels up.
This video only looks at the routing needs and doesn't require any inputs or channels to be selected. To answer your question, "No" I did not select the AUX/FX layer on the left of the console in this video. Is there something specific you are needing to accomplish?
Hello AllamHouse, thank you for the video it was most helpful. I followed your directions and it does seems to be getting the signal in OBS however, when i do a test recording, i still dont hear anything during playback. I ensured the mic is set to behringer x-usb, the guage even moves in OBS if i speak but playback doesnt pick up anything. Is there something I'm missing. Thanks in advance for your support
What do you mean when you say ‘playback’. Are you recording in OBS and then trying to watch the movie back or are you trying to do a playback through the X32?
@@AllamHouse i did some more testing and the issue really is when I play back a video recording, the audio from the mikes and instruments are extremely low. I turned up the volume of the audio input in OBS to the max but it doesnt seem to make a difference. Anything I can try ?
This is a common issue and I would recommend checking out this video that discusses gain settings being the usually challenge to solve. ruclips.net/video/-RjP3IKFfqM/видео.html
@@AllamHouse this has been very helpful, I saw another chat where someone suggested to add a gain filter to OBS audio input and that actually worked, but getting some clipping, I think I will try following your matrix guide for the live stream instead of the basic mirror and use the suggestions in your link. Thanks man, you have been a true blessing to my church : )
Yes, in OBS you can use a gain filter, but you also want to add a limiter to keep it at -3. OBS will distort of you push it above that level (in my experience)
I like the video however, when I went through the steps you have shown I did not show audio coming through the xlive setting in our OBS software. In suggestions? Your help would be appreciated.
If you are on a Windows machine you will need to download/install the X-USB driver and then look at the settings mentioned in the video below. If you are on a Mac you will just need to check the settings in the video below. VIDEO: ruclips.net/video/wBHxLNjcZzo/видео.html
Hello, thanks for this video.Pls could you do a video on how to use the X32 berhinger with Audition to record a multi track & also specify the right driver to download from the berhinger website.I use a Windows PC.Thanks a lot.
I’ve never used Audition, but there should be some RUclips material about that DAW. The driver you need for a Windows computer is the X-USB driver from the Behringer website. They continue to add new versions to keep up with Windows updates. This video here discusses the basics of multitrack recording. ruclips.net/video/oPragZ_x7MQ/видео.html
Hi- I am still using this simplistic way to stream. However, my user out no longer stays patched..... What has happened?! Any tips? Am I not saving it somehow? Must I watch and learn the more complicated ways to livestream? 😒and thank you for everything you continue to do!
The scenes have "Scene Safes" that allow the specific item selected (or deselected in this situation) to not be overwritten or changed by a scene change. Go to your scenes and look on the right side to see if anything is not selected in the scene safes area. I do recommend looking at enhancing your stream mix by setting up a Post Fader MixBUS setup. This gives you the ability to alter your stream mix to better benefit the listener that is not in your room. Here is a video that walks through this process. ruclips.net/video/pMnaiuC55RY/видео.html
I followed this video & it almost worked perfectly (THANK YOU) My only issue now we hear the musician’s talkback on the live. How can I take it back out?
This setup will copy the main output and route the copy into the USB 1&2 output. Ideally, the talkback mic will be unselected from the ‘LR’ so it can be played in monitors, but not in the mains. This button is just to the left of the screen. Select the channel and look to make sure that button is not lit up.
Ideally you would go with a USB connection into your device or send from the board into a camera or switching device. If you need to go directly into a phone people typically use an iRig converter. Keep in mind that these are designed to control the energy of a mic or maybe a guitar, but you will be sending a full range, mixed signal into it. If you push too much volume into these they will distort pretty quick.
Question: we run a usb from the x32 to our mac computer. Is there a particular usb cable you would recommend. We have recently had an issue that OBS is not picking up the audio from the x32.
Hey, I tried this many times - followed your steps but I am not getting any meters showing through my BS 15/ 16. I don't know if i am supposed to keep those unmuted but when i do mute/ unmute it doesnt change it. The only sound that does come through the X32 CARD is channels input 15=16 that are from my TV. I can mute them, or lower the faders but that doesnt change the same sound continuing to come out of the X32 Card. The only way to change the volume of the sound coming through the card on that channel is to lower the Preamp dial. Other then that, all my other IN's/ are not coming through the X32 Card, such as the Mac on my other two AUX in's & other instruments plugged into the mixer. What am I missing? I really appreciate your support !
Based on your request it sounds like you are trying to do something different than what this video calls for specifically. Are you looking to build a broadcast mix to get out of your console to a streaming / recording device? Are you interested in multitrack recording out of the console? Help me better understand your end goal and I can point you to the right setup to use.
You will need a USB A to B cable. Many people know it as a printer cable. It will plug into the X-USB slot on the back of the console (with a red light near it) and the other end into your computer.
It is possible to do this, but you have to setup your stream on BUS 1/2 (or 9/10) since the older firmware makes changes in batches of 8. The upgrade to the new firmware is an easy process and you can keep all of your current settings. Do make sure to SAVE your scene before doing the update, but it will give you more flexibility.
Good Afternoon Alan.. we have a small church and we have the X32 and we are linking our X32 from aux out 1-2 to a line in input on our computer via OBS. Can we use the similar process from the video above for this process to mirror to our stream?
Typically this is because of gain structure and PA amps that are turned up too high. This video discusses the solution. ruclips.net/video/-RjP3IKFfqM/видео.html
Great video. We use an ATEM Mini and just upgraded our old console that was dying to an X32. I'm getting a crash course as the only 'IT' guy in church. We were going from a single 1/4 jack to a 1/8 jack to the ATEM. How could I mirror this setup with X32?
Instead of routing the Stream output to USB 1&2, you can send it to AUX 1&2 (output) in the Routing>AUX section. Then, connect a 1/4” to 1/8” TRS cable and this will give you a stereo signal to connect to the ATEM.
Nice thanks, but why everyone make the same movies about it. I would like to connect the cart from x32 as an out put not local output like you. Cen you do this ?
I’m not exactly sure what you mean by “connect the cart as an output”. Can you give a little more context? I’m bound to have a video about what you are trying to accomplish.
I have my laptop hooked up and my outputs are my Behringer X32. I have my headphones connected to my mixer as well, and I even have Spotify playing and I don't hear anything through the headphones. Nothing from my laptop is being heard, even though the levels and outputs are properly picked. Is there a setting I have to change on my mixer in order to hear everything from my laptop through the mixer, and headphones ?
It sounds like you are trying to send audio from your computer into the mixer… I’m assuming across USB. If this is the case then you need to… (1) adjust the sound on your computer to use X-USB as the audio card (2) setup user inputs that include USB 1/2 as inputs. (3) route those two channels to whatever faders you want them to appear on. This is more commonly used in a Zoom meeting environment where you want to have audio come back into the board across USB. I talk about that setup in this video here. ruclips.net/video/sC1bgnAvMow/видео.html
We use restream live studio instead of OBS. Do you know if it will still pick up the L & R outputs in it? Right now our sound is leaving the board, going into a ATEM production switcher, then to our capture card. The audio isn't really bad but when someone is signing it is mainly highs you hear. It doesn't sound full. I thought sending straight from the board to the computer would be a better route. What are your thoughts on that?
Yeah, take. A copy of tour mains is an okay start, but you will be left with a thin mix. I use a Post-Fader AUX mix for my stream. I discuss the entire setup in this video here. ruclips.net/video/pMnaiuC55RY/видео.html Then, route the MixBUS pair out some XLRs and connect them to your ATEM. This is the same thing we do and it works great. Let me know if you have other questions.
@@AllamHouse So it is ok to have it going to the ATEM then outputting from there on a HDMI to the capture card? I down it was getting degraded going through the capture card or something along those lines. I was going to come straight out my X32 and to the computer. I am going to watch this video now. I am not the sound guy but the IT guy lol and I run the live stream. I am just trying to improve the sound on it lol. If you get a chance, take a listen to one of our recent live streams where they are singing. Thanks
You want to test the sound at the board by hitting the solo button and listening on headphones first. Assuming it’s clean it will have no degradation going across XLR to the ATEM. Make sure you go into the BlackMagic settings (app) and confirm the gain and signal are set properly so it isn’t clipping.
@@AllamHouse I will look at the settings in the Blackmagic settings. That may be the issue. I was looking at them the other day but wasn't sure how the person that installed set them up or if they made a difference. Thanks for all the information. If those don't work, I will work to output the sound through the interface and directly into the computer next.
Hi! Question for you! What cable did you use and where did you plug in the back? I currently have an RCA to Auxiliary. Is that even the cable I need for this or no?
Question about connection x32 to streaming PC... vMix.. I understand that it is with USB. We have a challenge with the distance x32 and the Streaming PC.. 8 Meters... Is it possible to use the LAN on the x32 in order to get the sound from Mixer to StreamPC / vMix???
While USB is a great option, you will be pushing the limits at 8 meters (25 feet). The two ways to do this well are (1) route your stream out some XLR outs on the back of the console, run XLRs to your computer and get a 2 channel audio interface to convert the signal to USB and into your computer. This is bot ideal, but you can get it done for about $150. (2) get a Dante card for your X32 and connect the x32 and computer to the same network to transfer the signals. This is the ideal scenario, but will come at a higher cost.
I have my x32 routed the same way you have it here except that mine comes out the USB 2.0 on the back directly into a USB 3.0 input on a USB-C hub for my iPad Pro into Switcher Studio. My iPad accepts the x32 as audio input but also thinks that it should be the default output. This doesn't matter for internet livestreaming but it's a huge problem when I'm trying to broadcast over an HDMI hub as well. I've been told that it doesn't matter what the x32 says but I cannot find anything on the internet about my problem. Switcher Studio's audio output doesn't change regardless of whether i plug in the hdmi first or the USB audio from my sound board. I'm so confused...
This is a rather unique setup and I will start by saying I have never used Switcher Studio. I know it is a robust streaming platform, but I have not interacted with it in person. Usually, when you plug in the USB connection from the X-USB slot on the back of the console to a machine it will (by default) use USB 1/2 as an input from the console and then also have USB 1/2 as an output form the device back to the console. This would allow you to play audio across USB from the device back into the console. This is well and good in an isolated setup, but it sounds like you are now trying to take this entire setup of audio from the console, connecting to video in Switcher, and then send it out HDMI to other destinations. If this is all correct, I would start by looking in the physical settings of the device. When you plug an HDMI cable into a laptop the audio will default to go OUT across the HDMI cable... which is your desired situation. I believe there will be a "magical" combination of device I/O and Switcher I/O settings that can get you to the desired outcome. I wish I have more direction to offer, but again I have limited knowledge of Switcher.
You need to make sure you have the X-USB driver (Windows) and then you will have to change some settings in your stream software to me sure the audio driver is selected. In OBS you then have to add an audio input to your scene and select the X32 input from a drop down menu. You are on VMix which should be similar, but I’ve never used it personally.
This is great and all but you failed to mention what output would you plug into on the back of the board like what kind of cable would you need? Is it the XLR output like where is all that information I need that information
There are three different ways to connect the console to your streaming device and this video here discusses those options. ruclips.net/video/xGt1z5I7blQ/видео.htmlsi=4hYDujSDZ0nyQWEh While the current method you viewed here is a quick start to get audio to a live stream you don’t have separate control over the mix for the house and stream or the volume output. I prefer to run a Post Fader MixBUS which you can find descriptions of in these two videos. The video above will cover the routing aspect and this one here is a full walk through of how to refine your mix for the stream. Refine Mix: ruclips.net/video/pMnaiuC55RY/видео.html
I always recommend saving your scene so that it can be recalled at any point. The console will reboot to the last setup it had, but these things are just computers and they do have issues sometimes. Having a copy of your scene saved on the console or even a thumb drive can be really valuable when you are troubleshooting an issue. This video talks about saving scenes and some other tips. ruclips.net/video/G0bqVeviRKg/видео.html
@@AllamHouse oh I did it was a lot of work. Had a lot of overhauling to do on the board since I was last free to be able to run sound and not have to play in the band. I will tell you for sure that scene definitely got saved and labeled as me mix. I really appreciate your videos here. They really helped me kind of map out all the things I needed to change currently, the stream was plugged into the monitor output and ended up picking up everything I did in the headphones soloing things the whole time so hopefully this week I can get it worked out with another XLR output.or the user output
I’m glad you found the video helpful. The low volume is usually based on improper gain structure which is usually a result of an issue with your system tuning. This is a very general (bare bones) way to get a mix from the console into your stream. I have other videos that offer direction on a much more refined setup, but let me answer your questions. The board moves does have very minimal latency and will get to your camera or streaming device in time with your video. Depending on your gear you may have to add a delay on the audio to have it match all of your cameras (ie: my audio is delayed by 300ms to be in between my different cameras...done at my streaming machine). You will want to change your console to run at 48kHz to match your camera sample rate.
Would I be able to use the usb connection onto the iPad live stream on switcher studio? I have an irig but it seems to always clip when the singers raise there voices. Maybe the usb connection will be better or how would fix the clipping with the irig connected to the x32?
I worked with two churches in my area that were using an iRig and they both had clipping issues. The solution we used was to send the stream audio to a Matrix or MixBus (whichever is best for your scenario) and then route that signal to your AUX 5/6 output. Get either a stereo RCA to 1/8” or stereo 1/4” to 1/8” cable to feed into your switcher studio. Make sure to use a “pre fader” setup and run your Matrix or MixBus through the Precision Limiter to control the volume. I highly recommend recording some Multitracks in a DAW that you can push back through your console without the worship team so you can practice these settings. Setup a private stream that you can monitor and slowly raise the volume until you find the tipping point for the switcher studio.
Hey there! Thanks for all the informative videos! Our church is going back to live services and adding a live stream. I've created a separate stream mix with linked MixBuses and want to send that out via XUSB to an iPad that will handle the stream. Have cable and dongle on the way. Still don't fully understand all the routing and I need to get it setup this week. Just need those 2 channels to route to the card out. Can you help? Thanks brother
Here is a video that should cover all your needs for the routing you are doing. Since it sounds like you have a mix setup, you could probably skip towards the end of the video... or watch it and see if you learn something new. ruclips.net/video/pMnaiuC55RY/видео.html
Thank you for all your tutorials! I’m learning a lot & fast as a newbie on this mixer. So, when it is mirrored already, can i still adjust all the instruments/vocals LIVE while streaming?
This setup takes whatever you put in your house mix and sends it to your stream. This setup does bot allow you to have a separate mix for your house and your stream... that is a different setup.

Hello, I enjoy your videos. I’m having such a problem trying to figure out how to route my aux in channels 1 & 2 which are coming in from my card from my computer. I have two sets of monitors that I would like to switch back-and-forth for reference. I just can’t figure out how to do it. Thank You
You have a lot going on in this question. The first part about routing AUX INs I actually cover in this video here ruclips.net/video/sC1bgnAvMow/видео.html In terms of your monitors, it sounds like these are studio monitors for referencing a stream (as opposed to monitors for your band members). You would use the monitor out 1/4” jacks on the console and then it would need to feed a stereo switcher like in a studio environment. This would give you the ability to A/B these different monitors while soloing a mix or the mains.
How do you EQ the main audio going to OBS with this method. We use two linked channels for livestream, routing them through an audio interface before arrival in OBS.
While this method is quick, it was intended to be used when the board only needed to do a live stream mix (and not a house mix also). Many people now have their boards doing House and Stream and this video displays a better option that can offer you the flexibility of two mixes which includes EQ and compression features. ruclips.net/video/Vx4HjArTeZI/видео.html
The console really only offers 38 inputs (32+AUX). This video is an overview of the routing screen that might be helpful. ruclips.net/video/PpeqRuPGi2Y/видео.html

Nice! Is there a way I can have a virtual board on my MacBook with this plugged in? That way sanctuary has the physical board and I can use the computer while streaming? Thanks!
You can use the X32 edit software to control the board as well as an iPad (if you have a network connection). Be cautious about making changes to the main mix while someone else is mixing as it will move their faders.
Thank you for this,it helped a lot my only problem was you didn’t show how to physically connect the board to the pc. I’m a newbie so forgive my lack of understanding.
hey Mr, i want to ask, i want to send all dry signal from console to PC, then i mix it on DAW (live), i insert comp, eq, etc on DAW, then i sent out signal from DAW, live, to OBS or other live streaming software. Can i do that ? what equipment do i need ? bcause i dont like the sound from console, i've tried to mix them on FOH mix and separate stereo mixbus 11+12, but i dont like the sound thx for the info
Yes you can. This video here walks you through the routing needs. It is easiest to send your audio into a video switcher or a camera from the console (at the end) since you are already using the USB to connect to your DAW. ruclips.net/video/KpZpsO_l4Qs/видео.html
Hello Dave, thanks for info, My Church has a X32, I have installed the driver and Firmware on my computer, but I can’t hear any other channels on my streaming recording except channels 1 & 2, I used channel 1-22, but after recording through the streaming online, only channels 1-2 is playing back, can you please help. So, this video discusses how to quickly copy your house mix and send it across USB into streaming software. This method is an okay start, but if you have people in your room as well (live audience) you will want to craft two mixes… 1 for the house and 1 for the stream. I personally use a Post Fader MixBUS setup which allows me to only need one sound tech to mix both mixes. Here are two videos to guide you. Can I use this USB output as an input for my iPhone 7 (using a Apple Lightning to USB3 Camera Adapter) and then use Facebook Livestream? Will the iPhone and Facebook recognize this external audio input?
I have not tried this same setup so I can’t say for sure. Here are some things I do know: 1) Some people are using dongles to convert to USB-C and run into new iPads (or iPhones) to stream through Switcher Studio. You might check out some of the Switcher Studio videos to see how they are making it work. 2) It sounds like you are trying to use minimal equipment, but you can always run a laptop with OBS (free software) and stream to FB, YT or other platforms. We use this at my church and it works great. You would plug your phone into the laptop as a camera and then run the audio from the console through USB into the laptop.
No. You will load the file onto a thumb drive and then follow the process to do the update. If you have settings of any type, make sure to save your scene BEFORE you update the firmware. This video talks about saving scenes. ruclips.net/video/G0bqVeviRKg/видео.html
Question: I followed all your steps, except I sent a copy of a mixbus (one mono channel) with my separate mix for our livestream. However, after I selected the x-usb input in OBS, I am not seeing the green audio bar lighting up when I send audio to it. I didn't actually try a livestream to see if sound was in fact coming through because I assume that if the sound input bar is not lighting up then nothing is coming through. And the mixbus was definitely not muted! Help please...
I have a question I use sling studio for my live stream and take my audio out from my x-32 to the streaming hub. The only way I can get stereo is from the headphone jack is there any other way to get a stereo out for live steam so I can send different mix to the live sound? Thank you
This. Idea will show you how to setup two different mixes with one sound tech. Once you have your mix setup on your paired Bus, then go to Routing>AUX out and route them out AUX out 5/6. This allows you to use a 1/4” to 1/8” TRS cable to connect from the back of the console into your Sling Studio. ruclips.net/video/pMnaiuC55RY/видео.html
Awesome video! QQ - is it not possible to route to the xusb output card if we're on a previous version? (V3.09) when we plug the USB to the laptop it didn't detect the x32 soundboard(on windows or OBS) Atleast not until we installed the xusb drivers on our laptop. And we're not detecting any sounds in OBS either
To start, you can do it in v3, but it takes some fancy skills because the routing is done in blocks of 8, not individually. Make sure to Save Your Scene and then V4 is a quick download/install. It will offer much more flexibility to meet the demands of today’s routing needs. For your Windows audio concern, you might need to check the info in this short video ruclips.net/video/wBHxLNjcZzo/видео.html
Ah, the reason we can't upgrade fw is bc we don't own the soundboard, we're sharing with another church. When we go to setup, card, configuration gives us the option to do 32in/32out. Then we go to routing and ensure that local 1-32 are being outputted to the expansion card. But still no sound from either windows or OBS. Am I missing something?
You need to build your stream mix on MixBUS 1&2 with the goal of sending them out USB 1&2 because OBS only recognizes USB 1&2. There used to be an ASIO plug-in for Windows that would allow multitrack (32 channel) options from X32 into OBS. I had it a few years ago and found it on GitHub, but I’m not sure if it is still an option.
Thank you very much for the quick responses! Sorry if I keep sounding like a noob but when you refer to USB 1&2 are those options in the routing tab or physical plugs on the back of the board? I was successfully able to install the asio plug in to OBS and see the options for the two inputs
The X-USB card on the back of the console offers 32 channels out. By default they map to your 32 inputs on the console, but you can adjust them according to your needs. On Version 3 firmware you can only adjust them in blocks of 8 inputs where V4 allows individual. On V3, the goal is to get your Stream setup to go to a location you can setup to go out USB channels 1&2 so that OBS will recognize it. If you successfully got the ASIO plugin installed, that could open your options to select USB channels other than 1&2. This can be helpful, but you still need to route your stream out two channels on the USB and then select those in OBS.
Thank you SO much! This saved me tons of pain lol. One question; I am receiving all X32 audio in Zoom, but I don't have any control over faders or main output. Any advice?
You might want to check out the setup in this other video I posted recently. It’s a great way to support your room and stream on one console ruclips.net/video/pMnaiuC55RY/видео.html

Thank you @AllamHouse. I watched this video this morning and I was able to get the sound out of the mixer to OBS. @ Justin. If you want to manage the mix to OBS, try this (this is what I've done). Instead of selecting Output 15 & 16 as your outputs for the OBS, create mix buses and post faders, and route the outputs of the mix buses to two other unused outputs on your mixer (I use Outputs 7 for L & 8 for R). That way, you can have a different mixes and volume control without messing the in-house volume. Also, in OBS, select the sound input scene and add a "gain" filter. Adjust the gain to your liking without compromising the live sound output (follow the live on your phone with headphones, step out so you can hear only the live through the headphones and adjust as necessary). I will recommend to add the filter after you set up the channels and the mix buses volumes before increase the filter's gain. I set mine to 17db. Good luck.
David Fields No driver needed. Connect the USB cable to the mixer and the computer, open OBS>Sources, add a new “Audio Input Capture” source and name it whatever you like and the X32 should be listed on the next screen. If it doesn’t work, when I get to church on Sunday, I’ll make a video and will post it.
This is the best option. Also, if you can bypass using an iRig you will be better off. They really aren’t designed to handle this signal level and they tend to distort. ruclips.net/video/Vx4HjArTeZI/видео.html
Hi Dave, interesting but I guess that this will mean my drivers for Cubase will no longer be available so I won't be able to play /record in Cubase though the X32 and out?
There are some options to continue using your DAW depending on what your end goals are. Here are some videos that can point you in the right direction. 1) Multitrack and Stream - ruclips.net/video/Zb6ngDBuaDE/видео.htmlsi=DGXxgfuJQMrYaYl1 2) Mix Stream on X32 - ruclips.net/video/pMnaiuC55RY/видео.htmlsi=VNsUFBk2tvic6-J2
This setup just takes your main mix and sends it out USB 1/2 to go to your streaming device. To solo it in headphones you would just click the solo button over your main fader and it will be heard in your headphones. Note: By default the main mix is what is heard in the headphones if nothing has the solo button pushed. So really, you don’t need to push anything, but the solo button over the main fader might make you feel better to know you have the right thing in your headphones.
I have a quick question, We use multi-track recording through Reaper, and send that to our livestream.. However, I was to use the User output 1/2 to mirror our main L/R in order to send it to zoom at the same time. When I switch the card from local 1-8 to user1-8, do I lose local 1-8 in my multi track recording options?
Yes. Live-stream and Zoom will use USB 1&2. You would need to reroute your input 1 and input 2 to go out some later USB channels (if available) like 31 and 32. A few small changes in Reaper and you will get stream, Zoom, and multitrack recording. I’ve had this question before and plan to make a video about this soon.
I'm glad you found this helpful. While this video covers a great quick solution, I do like to consider the locations you are mixing for overall. If you have to run a house mix and a stream mix, I recommend building separate mixes for each location and that would look different than this video. I usually lean towards a MixBUS for the stream. This video covers the general settings for this... ruclips.net/video/Vx4HjArTeZI/видео.html This second video runs through an entire build from top to bottom in this scenario... ruclips.net/video/pMnaiuC55RY/видео.html
what if I am not using 15-16 as my main L-R but instead I am using the monitor outs because I prefer the 1/4in cable connections in my main speakers. It doesn't seem to be the same process as the monitor L-R isn't an option in all the menus.
Monitor outs on the top right of the console (with a volume knob) have a much different functionality. If you want 1/4” outs you would be better served to go to Routing > AUX Out and select AUX Out 5&6 for your mains. Then connect your 1/4” outputs to the back of the console.
I'd love to know how to record a single mic channel? I'm recording a full service but I only want to get one person's mic from the board, not everyone's. I'm using a USB to record straight to it.
The easiest way to just record is to put a thumb drive in the top area next to the screen. Hit the view button for the USB and you will get a record screen that appears. You can use the buttons (and arrows) to change what your source is that will be recorded. Then, hit the record button and when complete, hit the stop button. Wait for the little red light to go out next to the thumb drive and then you have a recorded WAV file.
We use this method at the church, and run it into a Mac. Our issue is the livestream is too quiet. Is there anyway to assign the usb to its own out so we can adjust the levels individually on that channel without having to blast the house? We use the OBS software as well. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!!!
This is a common issue. OBS offers some features so you can add a gain plugin and/or a limiter plugin to your audio input. As nice as this is, you want to fix this at the source which is your soundboard and more specifically your gain settings per channel. Here are two videos I recommend watching to help you understand setting proper gain and a more advanced setup to get your stream audio. Gain: ruclips.net/video/-RjP3IKFfqM/видео.html Stream Setup: ruclips.net/video/pMnaiuC55RY/видео.html
If I want to phyically change an input on the back of the board, can I move the settings to the other input? Say move a microphone from input 13 to input 8. Can I just copy the settings from 13 over to 8?
Yes. Using the library is the easiest way to get this done. In your example I would select channel 13, click library next to the screen, scroll to the very bottom (around 90-99) and click the save button. You can enter a name and then all the settings for channel 13 will be saved in this slot. Now you can select channel 8, click library, scroll to the saved settings and click the load button. This will load the settings to that channel.
*** NOTE ***
Please make sure you save your scene on the console BEFORE you update firmware. Your current settings per channel will be cleared. You can reload your scene after update, but make sure to save your scene before updating.
saw this way to late!
Thank you for this! Your clear and easy to follow instructions is literally blessing hundreds of churches.

This is where he talk about matrix
ruclips.net/video/hcXC68iQrNI/видео.html
Are matrices the same thing as busses?
My church is late to the streaming game, but this channel has been SUPER helpful. *subscribed*

Please let me now what I am doing wrong .

Awesome video! Short and sweet. Thank you for your help
I’m glad you found the video helpful. While this is a quick, easy way to get audio to a live stream you don’t have separate control over the mix for the house and stream or the volume output. I’m glad you found this. Idea helpful. I will say that this is an okay option if you do not have people in your venue, but most people are mixing for both house and stream now. If that is the case you want to go a different route for your setup to allow for a mix for your house and a dedicated mix for your stream.

How about volume control?
Is it base on Main volume?
Any separate volume to control?
This video was put out when many people did not have attendees (during covid) so the board only needed to support one mix. Perfect video. Thank you SO MUCH!
Are you able to do a video showing what to expect on the pages below the screen when you're using an atem and studio mode in OBS
Hi Eric. Great tutorial. How about sending audio to Behringer X32? Thanks.
The output of this device goes into OBS where I have a 300ms delay on the audio to align with my various cameras.

ok what happens if it's not very loud. Like I have to put 2 gain's on it with the slider maxed out.
This version is the most basic setup to use, but any changes you make will be reflected in your Mains as well. You might choose to run this mix to a Matrix, set the Matrix to go out the USB outputs 1 & 2, and then use the Precision Limiter to get your volume levels up.
I guess I’m needing to know how to rout the matrix out of the usb.
Good day Allan. Did you select the Aux in/USB Fix Returns button first, the button on the left?
This video only looks at the routing needs and doesn't require any inputs or channels to be selected. To answer your question, "No" I did not select the AUX/FX layer on the left of the console in this video. Is there something specific you are needing to accomplish?
Hello AllamHouse, thank you for the video it was most helpful. What do you mean when you say ‘playback’. Are you recording in OBS and then trying to watch the movie back or are you trying to do a playback through the X32?

Yes, in OBS you can use a gain filter, but you also want to add a limiter to keep it at -3. OBS will distort of you push it above that level (in my experience)

I am a huge beginner in the sound department, i am excited to try this out tomorrow!
Hello ,Thanks for the video. Can you plug in straight to a phone to stream?
Ideally you would go with a USB connection into your device or send from the board into a camera or switching device. If you need to go directly into a phone people typically use an iRig converter. Keep in mind that these are designed to control the energy of a mic or maybe a guitar, but you will be sending a full range, mixed signal into it. If you push too much volume into these they will distort pretty quick.
Hello - I cannot figure out how to route Bus 7&8 to Card/USB output. Can you show how Bus channels can be routed to Card/USB out ?

Question: we run a usb from the x32 to our mac computer. Is there a particular usb cable you would recommend. We have recently had an issue that OBS is not picking up the audio from the x32.
I just use a standard USB A to B cable as mentioned in this video here. ruclips.net/video/EwWBYPgSXwE/видео.html
Awesome information! Just a little confused on the actual cables I’ll need and where I’ll need to plug it into on the console. Any help is appreciated
You will need a USB A to B cable. Many people know it as a printer cable. It will plug into the X-USB slot on the back of the console (with a red light near it) and the other end into your computer.
@@AllamHouse awesome man, appreciate you!
Do you know if it is possible to do this without updating the firmware? Our board is on Firmware version 3.08.

So! Helpful! Yay!
Do you know any way to increase the volume from this send setup? My PC is reading a very low volume. Like, -48 area.

If this is the case then you need to…
(1) adjust the sound on your computer to use X-USB as the audio card
(2) setup user inputs that include USB 1/2 as inputs.
I discuss the entire setup in this video here. ruclips.net/video/pMnaiuC55RY/видео.html
Then, route the MixBUS pair out some XLRs and connect them to your ATEM.
The two ways to do this well are
(1) route your stream out some XLR outs on the back of the console, run XLRs to your computer and get a 2 channel audio interface to convert the signal to USB and into your computer.
I did the set up, I ran the USB from the mixer to the computer, the mixer was detected but got no sound. What do i do?
You need to make sure you have the X-USB driver (Windows) and then you will have to change some settings in your stream software to me sure the audio driver is selected. In OBS you then have to add an audio input to your scene and select the X32 input from a drop down menu. You are on VMix which should be similar, but I’ve never used it personally.
This is great and all but you failed to mention what output would you plug into on the back of the board like what kind of cable would you need? Is it the XLR output like where is all that information I need that information

I always recommend saving your scene so that it can be recalled at any point. The console will reboot to the last setup it had, but these things are just computers and they do have issues sometimes.
AllamHouse can you explain this in a video if possible? Would greatly appreciate it

The first part about routing AUX INs I actually cover in this video here ruclips.net/video/sC1bgnAvMow/видео.html
In terms of your monitors, it sounds like these are studio monitors for referencing a stream (as opposed to monitors for your band members).
How would you access the full 48 inputs? Looks like you can not on the console itself, but can you make use it of them somehow?
The console really only offers 38 inputs (32+AUX). This video is an overview of the routing screen that might be helpful. ruclips.net/video/PpeqRuPGi2Y/видео.html

’m glad you found the video helpful. While this is a quick, easy way to get audio to a live stream you don’t have separate control over the mix for the house and stream or the volume output. @@AllamHouse great!
Grab a USB A-B cable and plug it into the X-USB slot on the back of the console and into your computer.
hey Mr, i want to ask, i want to send all dry signal from console to PC, then i mix it on DAW (live), i insert comp, eq, etc on DAW, then i sent out signal from DAW, live, to OBS or other live streaming software.
Can i do that ? what equipment do i need ? bcause i dont like the sound from console, i've tried to mix them on FOH mix and separate stereo mixbus 11+12, but i dont like the sound
thx for the info
Yes you can. This video here walks you through the routing needs. It is easiest to send your audio into a video switcher or a camera from the console (at the end) since you are already using the USB to connect to your DAW. ruclips.net/video/KpZpsO_l4Qs/видео.html

Hello Dave, thanks for info, My Church has a X32, I have installed the driver and Firmware on my computer, but I can’t hear any other channels on my streaming recording except channels 1 & 2, I used channel 1-22, but after recording through the streaming online, only channels 1-2 is playing back, can you please help. Thanks 🙏
Here are some things I do know:
1) Some people are using dongles to convert to USB-C and run into new iPads (or iPhones) to stream through Switcher Studio.
Does the mixer itself have to be connected to the internet for the update? I'm a newbie with this board ...
No. You will load the file onto a thumb drive and then follow the process to do the update. If you have settings of any type, make sure to save your scene BEFORE you update the firmware. This video talks about saving scenes.

For your Windows audio concern, you might need to check the info in this short video
ruclips.net/video/wBHxLNjcZzo/видео.html
It’s a great way to support your room and stream on one console

hi we followed everything that you told us... but i was wondering how we need to setup obs to receive the signal...
Good luck.
@@rodneymozard6760 I also am using 7/8 bus but i cannot get a signal into OBS. Is there a driver you installed?
David Fields No driver needed. Connect the USB cable to the mixer and the computer, open OBS>Sources, add a new “Audio Input Capture” source and name it whatever you like and the X32 should be listed on the next screen.

How can we do a mirror of the main output to an aux like to stream to an irig that has stereo quarter inch inputs
This is the best option. Also, if you can bypass using an iRig you will be better off. They really aren’t designed to handle this signal level and they tend to distort.

Hi Dave, interesting but I guess that this will mean my drivers for Cubase will no longer be available so I won't be able to play /record in Cubase though the X32 and out?
There are some options to continue using your DAW depending on what your end goals are. Here are some videos that can point you in the right direction.
1) Multitrack and Stream - ruclips.net/video/Zb6ngDBuaDE/видео.htmlsi=DGXxgfuJQMrYaYl1
2) Mix Stream on X32 - ruclips.net/video/pMnaiuC55RY/видео.htmlsi=VNsUFBk2tvic6-J2
Trying to figure out if I can use headphones on the soundboard so I can hear what is going out to the stream.
@@AllamHouse Really good information. Will try. Thank you.
I have a quick question,
We use multi-track recording through Reaper, and send that to our livestream..
Thanks Dave 😀👍
I'm glad you found this helpful. While this video covers a great quick solution, I do like to consider the locations you are mixing for overall. If you have to run a house mix and a stream mix, I recommend building separate mixes for each location and that would look different than this video. I usually lean towards a MixBUS for the stream. This video covers the general settings for this... ruclips.net/video/Vx4HjArTeZI/видео.html
This second video runs through an entire build from top to bottom in this scenario... ruclips.net/video/pMnaiuC55RY/видео.html
what if I am not using 15-16 as my main L-R but instead I am using the monitor outs because I prefer the 1/4in cable connections in my main speakers.
Thank you. I will work with this!
