I'm in Australia and in the last year I've been given 4 of these 011 saws and then got 1 at my local rubbish disposal site. I have 3 of running so far.
Sweet. I just pulled one of them from junk yard last week when I was there. I was just "collecting it" but after this video I may get her running. A month ago I pulled a husky 365xp complete. Just needed a thorough cleaning and she is running great. The stuff ppl throw away.
I bought an old 015 AV and ordered a new plug for it, it also needs a new pull cord so in a day or two I'm gonna try to fire it up, it has very good compression.
John, you’re the reason I’m starting to collect and work on older saws. Just saw 2 of these on marketplace now I think im gonna pick them up. So far the only brand new saw I’ve bought is a poulan pro 5020 and i feel like it’s actually an underrated saw I’m not gonna lie I’d love to see what you could do to one of them
Hi John. I am restoring a 260 from the trash, and I would like to ask something. It was seuzed, not badly, actually, the original cylinder is in very good shape... but there is an alluminum from the piston attached to the walls. Do you think I can remove thisby honing the cylinder DIY? Thanks man!
Off the subject but what is your opinion on the article package on the Stihl saws I know hand heaters but the thing I’m wondering about is the “carb heater”
I’m restoring a 011 AVT now, trying to clean it all up. I can not get the handle off. The left side handle screw cam right out. The right hand side turns and turns but will not come out. Is there some special way to remove, or a certain order to remove screws to get it apart? HELP, Please ??????

Love these old, small Stihl saws. They have a sound all of their own. It’s to good to be parted out. It’s lasted 40 plus years with many more to go.
Cool old saws.
I love bringing them back from the graveyard.

Nice. Just brought one home that I’m about to get into.
Great video John! I love bringing those awesome 011's back from the dead. I repaired hundreds of them in my shop in the 80s! Yup I'm that old 😂
Very nice lil saw sir love it!!
👍Great video John.
Sounds sweet making good power as good as a new saw. Congrats

This was awesome! What a badass little clean up. I'd run that little saw
Nice job! I had one and tried to tear it apart, broke EVERYTHING. Mostly cause I was young and impatient. Oop c.
That was a good entertainment video.
I see you have one of them fancy coast flashlights that you have to whack to turn on
Good shit !
Seriously just took apart a 009 model and ported it lol...
Where have you been, it's nice to see you again!

Grab them! I think the 011 is the most underrated saw out there!!
@@donmayberryjrsOPE This was first time I seen one in action it seems like a nasty little bucker!! 😂
@@unharmedboss you won't be bummed that's for sure!
That looks like boat two stroke too lol.
I can get one for $100 that needs carb work. Should I roll the dice?
Thank you Brother.
...looking to rebuild 2 011s Ive had for years. Is there a kit that is still available for these older 011s?
Thanks again 👍😜
Stihl is always worth fixing if it has compression. People don't understand the value of their throwaways.
Nice video. Do you have the 200T bushing part number? i want to make that conversion on my 011 Thanks in advance.

You can hone, lightly sand or depending on what coating the cylinder has some acid will dissolve the aluminum.
