I knew your daddy Ryan. High school.....many years ago and the Halfway Bar. Wow. I'm old I guess but there was a time your mom& dad were a beautiful couple but just lost their way over tge years. I'm proud for you.
The ending guitar solo is what gets me every time. The buildup from the beginning of the song up to that point is what makes the whole thing a masterpiece. Ryan was in the zone here. Absolutely amazing.
When I hear this, I think of my older brother, a musician and sound engineer, a talented carpenter and even a builder of hot rods... and how he destroyed himself and died on the streets of Houston, TX. I am trying so hard to outrun him, but he is never far behind.
I am so sorry for Your loss .. 🙏🏻♥️🤗. Prayers , Love & Hugs 🤗 I send to You FreeLantz .. I cannot say I feel Your pain . I can say I have lost a Dear Brother of 47 Years . He was killed by a truck driver that’s brakes went out in the Smokey Mountain National Forest 2 years ago . What gives Me peace is knowing He’s in a much better place 😇. & I have nary a doubt Where David is . 💙I miss Him so it hurts though . Hang in there and think of all the good and happy times My friend .
Perhaps the greatest song about the inner battles i fight with myself each and every time I look in the mirror... The longing, the pursuit, chasing what I could've been only to see myself for what I've become. All this from a country song...
A lot of people don't seem to understand this song, which isn't surprising. One of those songs that is personal to me, but also to Ryan. There is quite a few people though that would relate, if the meaning was truly spelled out.
I love ghis song sooooo much!!! It just hits my heart and soul so deep. I love you Ryan Bingham, thank you for this beautiful song that makes my heart ache. 🎼💖💕
Great songs and art are there to make us feel and think and live beyond ourselves just a bit for that moment. This song has changed meanings for me more than a few times, and always for the better. Thank you Ryan.
I love Ryan Bingham best when it is just his voice, and his guitar. The lyrics of this song are very powerful, but they are lost in all of the production overkill. Too much noise, not enough Ryan.
I agree and disagree. Some folks won't appreciate RB with a guitar and a mic. Some folks need the extra noise. to me it can sound like the extra mind noise we all hear when things are going so well. We want to hear the words and the message, but the background noise mimics the sounds in our world! Well done Ryan Bingham! Can't wait to talk to you again. - LEG

Song could easily be about me and my late father. Masterful.

My Father's Day song

I’m sure there are, it’s about his parents. His mom drank herself to death and his dad killed himself
🤣🤣🤣🤣
lost an ex gf and one of my best friends to suicide, definitely can relate to this song .seems to hurt worse the longer time goes by as memories fade.

The outro to the song is soothing to my ears.
The lyrics to this song are so surreal. He's such an amazing songwriter.
Amazing song writer and singer. Keep truckin Ryan.

nice song Ryan
damn good song.
Listen to this song and then "Breakers Roar" by Sturgill Simpson and it will put you in a very specific place in your head. Fantastic song.
Nicole Ellen Hogue 3 /23 /17 I miss you everyday. "You are never far behind."
From my daughter to me!
This song is about his parents who are both dead, his mother drank herself to death and his father committed suicide.
This song is only about his father. He wrote "Tell My Mother I Miss Her So" for his mom.
Canzone immensa, ha un mondo dentro
Really, his live solo mic and acoustic guiar is better.62 years playings opinion.sometime less is better.this is painful.
