I used to think watching somebody play was the best but once we understand it is all about the sound, closing our eyes and just listening... your playing is the reality of achievement. Thank you so very much for working so hard to be so spectacular and great, we all really appreciate it... thank you.
I really love this sonata and Tiffany's delicate and clear interpretation. It isn't an easy sonata to play and you definitely need to have virtuosity.. In this performance, you have virtuosity mixed together with a splendid blend of musicality. The third movement is especially demanding. Bravo to Tiffany. I could listen to more.
Most people have no idea how deep this music is. It's amazing to try and play any Haydn sonata without the ornamentation. Then the bare bones of the structure emerge and it's easier to understand the connections back to J S Bach and others that Haydn heard and knew of that are long gone. It's usual to hear praise for Mozart or Beethoven, but they both learned from Haydn, who has his own very mature emotional understandings of things; sound music from a sane mind. Shared on FB. Beautiful execution. Best
Tiffany. You've been my inspiration for a long time now, please never give up pursuing this passion of yours! You're very gifted, and you played this piece beautifully. Have a great April!
We can have the drive and dedication, but God himself has a hand in players like this. With Tiffany, check her out when she was a little girl. The playing was already huge. That she has grown into such an incredibly warm funny insightful person, I’ll give that credit to her parents, mentors, friends, and herself.
Beautifully played as always. Perfect for a Sunday morning break from watching Face the Nation on TV. Thank you for posting this Tiffany. I hope you are having or had a great Spring break.
I've just discovered you on RUclips! Your playing is simply devine. You beautifully interpret every phrase you play. I am looking forward to listening to all of your pieces.
Superb! I love the way you play Haydn. You totally get Haydn. Not that I'm any kind of authority, of course. Just a fan. But from listening to you play, I would say you have significantly enriched your artistry by having studied philosophy alongside music. It gives your interpretations greater depth and meaning. So next time you ponder the question (as philosophers do) "Did I make the right choice?" remember this. You don't just play notes: you give them meaning.
Andre Stupified By relentless, single-minded application. Find the YT video of her in Montreal, but watch the study at the beginning. A minimum of ten years / ten thousand hours of practice (apart from all the other factors that must be there). I can’t even imagine.
I'm learning the second and third movements and your playing is a wonderful guide!! The second theme in the second movement is just heavenly!! (Sonata form!)
I’m so impressed with this: you have a real feel for and understanding of this composer and this sonata which is grown-up music, it is challenging, intellectual, immensely satisfying and here - beautifully played. It is great piano music from the first note until the last, a brilliant repertoire choice and probably a real eye (should that be ear?) opener for many people tuning in. Like your other Haydn sonatas on RUclips, this is less well known but along with about twenty-plus others, of a standard only Mozart at the time came close to matching (and then not very often). Thanks for posting, I thoroughly enjoyed the sonata and your performance. PS: please observe repeats!
Why is there only one thumb 👍🏼 possible? I'd love to give you many more 😅 Amazing and touching 😍 I listened to your record 3 times now and will listen to it again 😁 I love the slower part (Adagio) most - so softly... Btw I would be very interested in your thoughts about this piece. Is there vlog about? I'll look for it now...
u practice a lot. everyday. and don't give up when you mess up. and u practice all the parts u suck at. and then practice some more. and by then you have played it like a thousand times, and then u would have memorized it.
Ahh. A birthday present for me. Thank you. Have you considered having an opening segment where you instruct your listeners on what to listen for during each section of the song? Just a thought.
D Poop Such contrasts, if only Poon gave as much detailed attention to her speech as she definitely does to her playing; she plays her Bach partita with the dedicated care that the builders of Rouen cathedral displayed. Recommended. It’s on RUclips.
I am learning this piece now for my ATCL exam. I hope I can play like you 😥😥 btw how can you memorize so many pieces? is it have any technique? 😐 I have some problem in memorizing piece..
Tan Xin most of the pianist have very high IQ. They are not just moving their fingers. They need to learn, think and practice. Good practice is full of planning
This is one of the Haydn sonatas where I absolutely adore every one of the movements. You've really done them all justice here. I get such a nice summer feeling from this piece. I'm curious though why the repeats were omitted? Video length?
Haydn 1732-1809 Dominico Scarlatti 1685-1757 Mozart 1756-1791. Obvious connections to your followers I guess but I hear Scarlatti’s influence at the beginning and similarities to Mozart throughout. Composed in the late 1760’s. Always good to hear you.
Fout van mij zie vorige posting. Sviatoslav Richter speelt de sonate veel langzamer dan Tiffany vooral het ( verrukkelijke ) 2e deel. Totale duur 30.09 en Tiffany 15.08. Oorzaak ? Heeft zij herhalingen overgeslagen ?
I am trying to find a Haydn Sonata that speaks to me. I've listen to a dozen or so of the later ones. I am thinking maybe this is the one, still can't decide.
Hi, Tiffany! I loved his interpretation of Haydn's sonata. I'm studying my first Haydn sonata this semester that Fun in C major, Hob.XVI: 1 if you have suggestions to study I thank you and you can record a video playing even better. Success always!
0:00 First Movement - Allegro moderato.
6:10 Second Movement - Adagio.
13:05 Third Movement - Presto.

What a beautiful touch you have. So refined. I could listen to you play all day.

Thank you Tiffany for each second !

Totally agree with most of what you say! Haydn is, sadly, underrated and overlooked!😢
No. the music serves the purpose to prepare the stage for the ornaments.
Sempre senza spartito, hai una memoria fantastica.

John Munsee I bet you’re right
Wonerful concert performance ! Beautifully played in costume on a very 'authentic' piano . 'Rustic' inspiration !

and now I want to hear every Haydn sonata played by Tiffany.
Its magic Tiffany. as close to perfections as possible. Both musically and tecnically
Sounds like beautiful raindrops ❤️
Really nice sonata! I have never heard it before and now I'm considering playing it.
Better than nice
Your music comes from the beauty that inside of you.
My goodness. This is one of my favorite of the Haydn Sonatas and you play it so beautifully!
Most beautiful piece ever!!!
how do people become this good, so amazing

Haydn suits you very well Tiffany!! You are making me consider fully learning this along with the fact that I read through it as well! Brava!!
Beautifully played Tiffany.

Wonderful, Tiffany! Always enjoy your performance online or live:)
Tiffany, this is exquisite playing!
Great! You play music so well, and I thought that your playing from before 2010 was amazing!
You're perfect
Who else recognized the first movement as a2 for ABRSM grade 8
I love you Tiffany!!

You are very good and my mum knows how to play this piece too
How do you memorize so many songs??? This one alone is more than 15 mins of non-stop music !!!
lol how do you think ppl learn concerti?
MetaView7 learn, think and practice
with enough practice you can learn hours worth of notes, it's called muscle memory, your hands practically move on their own
u practice a lot. everyday. and don't give up when you mess up. and u practice all the parts u suck at. and then practice some more. and by then you have played it like a thousand times, and then u would have memorized it.
There are better ways to memorize music... muscle memory alone will get one in trouble.
Good job Tiffany 👍👍👍
very nice. wish i had the drive and dedication to learn to play the piano as you to play music like this.
Ahh. A birthday present for me. Thank you. Have you considered having an opening segment where you instruct your listeners on what to listen for during each section of the song? Just a thought.

Wow, this is amazing.

Joseph Haydn? The friend of Mozart and the teacher of Beethoven? Wow, this world is full of mysteries..
Really nice!
yay.
Beautiful!!!
Hello.Nice musicality ! Nice tone ! What piano did you use for this video ?
very well done.
Wow how do u master the development of the first movement

The second movement moves me in a second.

Good
Ein Hochgenuss 👌
Excelente!!!
1:30 Beethoven
Brava, 谢谢您。
Non plus ultra !!!!!
1:20 was nice
Nice third movement. I mean, really nice.
Prachtig langzaam gespeeld. Svatoslav Richter speelt deze Sonate op dezelfde langzame manier. Schitterend !
Mozart = 19 Piano Sonatas
Beethoven -= 32 Piano Sonatas
Hadyn = 62 Piano Sonatas
So he was like the Volkswagen of classical music then.
Brian Bernstein Context:
Mozart 1756 - 1791, lived 35 years,
Beethoven 1770 - 1827, lived 56 years,
Haydn 1732 - 1809, lived 77 years.
Mister Slowly Not really; see my comment above.
Great..
My mum plays piano too and she play this pice before
Beautifully played and nice outfit, but that Steinway doesn’t sound as bright as a few others.
chemise lace
Sorbonne
unplanned the instrument
Not enough passion
I think you can play it faster
your playing is awesome.
but seriously Steinway, that piano is an embarrassment. my old kawai sounds 10x better...
