I used to think watching somebody play was the best but once we understand it is all about the sound, closing our eyes and just listening... your playing is the reality of achievement. Thank you so very much for working so hard to be so spectacular and great, we all really appreciate it... thank you.

I really love this sonata and Tiffany's delicate and clear interpretation. It isn't an easy sonata to play and you definitely need to have virtuosity.. In this performance, you have virtuosity mixed together with a splendid blend of musicality. The third movement is especially demanding. Bravo to Tiffany. I could listen to more.

Most people have no idea how deep this music is. It's amazing to try and play any Haydn sonata without the ornamentation. Then the bare bones of the structure emerge and it's easier to understand the connections back to J S Bach and others that Haydn heard and knew of that are long gone. It's usual to hear praise for Mozart or Beethoven, but they both learned from Haydn, who has his own very mature emotional understandings of things; sound music from a sane mind. Shared on FB. Beautiful execution. Best

Totally agree with most of what you say! Haydn is, sadly, underrated and overlooked!😢

No. the music serves the purpose to prepare the stage for the ornaments.

We can have the drive and dedication, but God himself has a hand in players like this. With Tiffany, check her out when she was a little girl. The playing was already huge. That she has grown into such an incredibly warm funny insightful person, I’ll give that credit to her parents, mentors, friends, and herself.

Superb! I love the way you play Haydn. You totally get Haydn. Not that I'm any kind of authority, of course. Just a fan. But from listening to you play, I would say you have significantly enriched your artistry by having studied philosophy alongside music. It gives your interpretations greater depth and meaning. So next time you ponder the question (as philosophers do) "Did I make the right choice?" remember this. You don't just play notes: you give them meaning.

I’m so impressed with this: you have a real feel for and understanding of this composer and this sonata which is grown-up music, it is challenging, intellectual, immensely satisfying and here - beautifully played. It is great piano music from the first note until the last, a brilliant repertoire choice and probably a real eye (should that be ear?) opener for many people tuning in.
Like your other Haydn sonatas on RUclips, this is less well known but along with about twenty-plus others, of a standard only Mozart at the time came close to matching (and then not very often).
Thanks for posting, I thoroughly enjoyed the sonata and your performance.
    PS: please observe repeats!

u practice a lot. everyday. and don't give up when you mess up. and u practice all the parts u suck at. and then practice some more. and by then you have played it like a thousand times, and then u would have memorized it.

      Such contrasts, if only Poon gave as much detailed attention to her speech as she definitely does to her playing;
she plays her Bach partita with the dedicated care that the builders of Rouen cathedral displayed. Recommended.
      It’s on RUclips.

    Haydn 1732-1809
    Dominico Scarlatti 1685-1757
    Mozart 1756-1791.
Obvious connections to your followers I guess but I hear Scarlatti’s influence at the beginning and similarities to Mozart throughout.
    Composed in the late 1760’s.
    Always good to hear you.

Fout van mij zie vorige posting. Sviatoslav Richter speelt de sonate veel langzamer dan Tiffany vooral het ( verrukkelijke ) 2e deel. Totale duur 30.09 en Tiffany 15.08. Oorzaak ? Heeft zij herhalingen overgeslagen ?
