what sources r u using for the USMLE?
Hello Dr. Zainab! So what I'm doing is going through First Aid using my book and USMLE-Rx Express Videos that basically walk you through it. I have a Microsoft Word doc of "What I Don't Know" and write down details as I go through my FA that I've never heard before and need to look at more times before I have it down. When I have them down, I delete them from the doc :) When FA talks about a drug, I make a flash card using Quizlet to study all my pharm!:) Every now and then I'll do 20-50 random questions from UWorld. I go through my questions when I'm done and learn why I got things right/wrong using FA and write them down in a journal. For micro, I'm also supplementing with SketchyMicro. This is a lot of work, takes a lot of time, but its crazy how when I do a UWorld test, I know ALL of the questions about the sections I've studied so far!! Such a good feeling!
You can do it America :), I suggest that you do NBME questions on last weeks before exam, I've heard they predict your score pretty close and helps a lot, I haven't try them though! Best of luck to you, you diverse all the best :)
I can't stress how important UWorld is!! My exam literally felt like I was doing a few UWorld blocks (yes, they're that similar). Good luck!!

First time studying with a "study with me" video. I never used to understand why people made these videos, but after this one, I am now addicted. It makes studying feel less lonely. I especially love the background noises, felt like I was right there. America, make more please!!!!

I do too! That I think is actually better for the memorization process, the more you interact with it the more you interiorise it. That's why I always talk when studying and count, draw, write it down, it all helps! America does it too at home! (the talking and explaining to an imaginary student)

Hi America :) I am a med student from Turkey. I really enjoy your 'study with me' sessions. I love how you keep it REAL. Yes, there are some nice MS study channels but yours is the only one that helps us realize that a little anxiety before exams is okay. Because not everyone always has everything under control. And that's normal. You can get a little nervous and still get good grades. Thanks for showing that. You help me stay motivated.
Is there a chance that you share more 'no music study with me' videos? And especially at your house, please? I too live alone and last week when I was cramming for a big exam your videos were the biggest help.
I can imagine how busy you are and how much effort it takes to shoot and edit these videos. But I (and probably all of your other subscribers :) ) would really appreciate if you do.

I just wanna say I love this!! I am currently in school again for a second bachelors, this time for Medical Laboratory Science and when I was at school for my first bachelors I hated studying alone. Even if me and the friend I was with weren’t studying the same thing, seeing the other person studying and staying focused kept me motivated to study. But now, I am commuting from home for this current program I’m in and don’t have anyone to go study with. This made a simulation of studying with someone. Please please please make more!! It made my studying so much more enjoyable!! Love you America!

Next week I have an exam molecular biology of the cell and tbh I really enjoy to study with you :D I hope we will pass next Wednesday xD there are mornings when I don't want to get up at 5 am and study before my lectures, but then again if America can and is doing I should/can also - no excuses, coffee mug in one hand, holding my ''cell bible'' in the other and lets gooooo med people :)

All I keep thinking is how much you'd have to tip a server for them not to be annoyed by someone sitting in their section for two hours lol
on weekends, especially the evenings, i have no place to study so I go to denny's. it's empty and i ask "can i study here?" and i give them 10 dollars but I don't order anything. i may stay for 4 hours, until 10pm. i put a tablecloth down on the area of the table I use and I choose the most secluded booth.
Why? should we really pay a tip to a server if we stayed too long?!
Wesam yes, because they’re missing out on tips from other customers when you sit in the booth for hours! giving them a big tip offsets that loss
Wesam not only is that one less table in their section. If they have a time they close and you stay past the time they leave it’s kinda annoying
Most of the servers at Denny’s are older and they usually will not be annoyed by a young person studying for a better future. Just don’t go when it’s super busy and coordinate that study time with a meal there. Normal tip should be fine.

I almost gave up hope about getting my grades back up or being able to study productivity bec of the stress, tension and also bad grades. But your videos honestly motivated me to go back and study. I was originally going to be going to nurse but he more I thought about it the more I realized I was going into it more because it was an easy to get job after graduation but now I’m going to local community college and will transfer to the university with a transfer program as a biological sciences major I’m a teen mom who got my GED at 16 and went to college at 16 as well rn i am 17 almost half way through done college I love ur videos and how real they are

Do waitresses ever get mad at you for staying a long time?? I always wanna go to restaurants but I feel like I would get self conscious that they want me to leave
As a waitress and someone who studies at a restaurants. I don't mind. If I am leaving I just ask to close out with them, but it doesn't matter to be because they are usually low work and it doesn't matter to be whether a person is studying or takes 3 hours to have lunch with a friend. Just sit out of the way, or at the counter/bar, and tell them not to worry about you too much, and you'll be there for a while. that way you can study and they don't have to feel like they are checking in on you every ten minutes.

Holy cow this video has been unbelievably helpful!! I love listening to calming music while in the library studying but I didn’t realize I was missing background talk type of noise till now! Currently watching your videos from the beginning till now- I'm on May ones now :D You are really motivating and kindhearted person! I study dietetics and nutrition at med uni as well (it's different in my country, we don't have college, you go to university/medical university straight after high school. Medicine here lasts 6 years with the last one being an 'only hospital' year to practice. After that you start your residency). After getting my bachelors degree (takes 3 years here) I think I'm going to hit medicine as well. Watching you really makes me feel like it is the right direction for me. Once I start I wish to be as passionate about what I study as you- even if you didn't sleep for 3 nights and have bad eating habits you still keep going with a smile :)
i say thats a skill when i see anyone doing something simple like eating or drinking while studying which unfortunately i cant do it.yup thats me i even get distracted by a water .
