    Friends, can confirm there are lights on the beside tables. They are the round white things. Lindsay had them already. You can charge them and they give off a lovely glow at night. Please stop commenting about how there’s no lights because there is 😅

      I’m sooo confused now, do you not have/use Mascarpone in Canada for cakes, creams? :))) it’s pretty common in Europe, as it is from Italy of course, but my friends from the USA also use it . Anyway, you were so cute struggling to say the word.

    I absolutely loved the creamy white on the walls with the pops of color in the decor. Personally, I wish that the moulding would’ve had bottom pieces, whether it matched the top or was just a straight piece, because having it go into the baseboard feels unfinished. But overall, I think it’s a beautiful room! 😍

    • @talleysuehohlfeld3959
      @talleysuehohlfeld3959 9 месяцев назад

      having had that molding in my pre-war apartment building in NYC, I can tell you that the bottom of molding like that is always a mirror image of the top; it doesn’t just go into the molding.

  • @jl-Sp
    @jl-Sp 3 года назад +240

    • @videovedo36
      @videovedo36 3 года назад +23

      It's really a pity that she didn't do the same on the bottom, this way the 'unfinished' design gives away that the faux stucco frames are not, in fact, original. The nightstands floating over the bottom edge wouldn't be a problem to the eye, in my opinion, as much as the uneven design is.

    • @alittlebitofjessica
      @alittlebitofjessica 3 года назад +15

      Yes! That little nook by the window was made for a reading chair or built-in bench (with space underneath for books), especially since there is a tree right outside the window AND the client likes to read. Sigh, missed opportunities. Maybe next time!

    • @jemma50
      @jemma50 3 года назад +8

      @@alittlebitofjessica it doesn't look to me like there is enough space for a reading nook there. Maybe a very narrow bench under the window, but a chair would not fit unless they eliminated the night table. It's a great idea, the room just isn't big enough. Although.....a little chair and a wall sconce beside the dresser might work if the dresser were moved a bit to the left and without the plant there. :D

    • @alittlebitofjessica
      @alittlebitofjessica 3 года назад +2

      @@jemma50 Yeah, it's kind of late now that the client is stuck with this layout for the rest of her life unless she removes the nightstands. But a chair/bench WOULD'VE fit if they had used different tables. I've noticed in a lot of AG's videos that the sponsors take precedence over the clients' needs :(

    I love this makeover! It is so perfect for a relaxing, calming bedroom. I love the book brackets from Umbra. I am going to order a set for myself and a friend, - our nightstands are so crowded with stacks of books. I love seeing what I'm going to read next. Iam, also going to try the moulding effect in an apt that we rent out. Our tenants are usually doctors doing their residency, or grad/ phd students. They don't like to invest alot of money or time furnishing their apt; so, we try to put some extra conveniences, style, and furniture in their apts. All of our tenants usually tell us that they appreciated the effort. Your makeovers have been giving us great ideas, and diy projects to help the budget. Thank- you!!

      My nightstands have 3 drawers. My husband drilled a hole in the bottom drawer and we put the CPAP machine in the bottom drawer and put the electrical cord through the hole. The hose and everything fits in the drawer and is thus concealed during the day. At night we just open the drawer so air can circulate. We both have one so we have the same set up on each side of the bed. This is working well for us.

    The room looks so beautiful!!! I love the soft calming feel. Although, the only obnoxious thing I have to say, is that the molding, which came out amazing btw, I think traditionally in all Parisian rooms I have seen, don’t end in the baseboards like that. They typically stop a little before the baseboard and return to make a full rectangle. That would have given it a traditional Paris Apt feel. This installation feels a little more Art Deco (maybe?). Beautiful none the less. Well done!!

    Moulding looks great but you definitely should of added a piece on the bottom instead of making it go directly into the baseboard. Looks a bit off and unfinished like that

    If your molding is pine, it would be smart to prime it with a stain-blocking primer to keep the oil from the knots from bleeding through. And paint sticks better with primer (though you maybe used a paint with primer incorporated?)

    I have watched all your videos, sometimes over and over, I find your channel so entertaining and informative. and so I have become a fan, I am an elderly lady from Brisbane Australia, I decided to comment on this video because its your best one yet. I see you doing something other than just painting an accent wall, and the floating theme you use to transform the room and adding the moulding to the wall is as I am sure you know, a lovely idea, the rug you chose created such a warm vibe also, congratulations Alexandra and your team.

    I love molding on walls. I lived in a pre WW2 building for many years and the rooms had moldings on plaster walls. In this room I would have made two narrow ones outlining the floating bed tables and a wider one in the middle.

    I really wanna see you makeover someone's room who is plus sized, I love your channel and love your design ideas, and as much as I would love to purchase some of the beds you choose for people's room I'm kind of worried about damaging the bed because of my size. It would also be nice if you check in with people like after a month to see how everything is working because I loved the time that people had to call you back to do a different part of their home and the space was still the same as you decorated it just nice to know how you benefited their lives sometimes.
