The highlight starts 1.47 with the "real" Paso music. He is electrifying, superbly commanding the scene. He has the nerve ! Very good musicality. (The first minute and almost two, did not have the staccato rhythm of Paso, but NOW they are coming, and they are masters of the scene). (The opening was not a good choice.) Charles gives a FANTASTIC performance. Definitely one of the TOP Paso dancers in the world (WDSF/WDO/WDC, professionals included).
Why not introduce the bull ? 4 men in a blanket, staccato tripping and fire out of the bulls eyes and mouth. On the floor, as this fantastic couple in a cheering crowd handles the big bull. And why not, in the opening have STACCATO rhythm with the cape, the flag, Elena walking around alone. One thing is sure, no better Paso dancers have EVER danced on a dance floor. Make the first part spectacular and staccato.
If Beethoven or Thaikovsky had seen this, I guess they would say it is too much at the same time, meaning the absolute masterpiece starting 1.47 (the best Paso performance in history including all Professional Champions), needs a CALMDOWN before the storm starts 1.47. In all their music they emphasize this. Thus the whirlwind may cloud the eternal masterpiece starting 1.47. I guess the choreographers are not experts on Beethoven and Thaikovsky, the world´s definite masters of composing music and theatre of music. You must almost wait to be boring and have a very light tune before the BANG starts. So that the bang, the highlight, is indeed the highlight.
