This is a very fitting tribute to Shane from his dear friend Gerry Adams, Both Shane & Gerry fought for Irish freedom, for peace justice for all the people, Shane did this with his songs, his words, his poetry, his singing, his actions as a person and with his generosity, Gerry did by being forced to fight against t e brutal British army, its governments and armed police force most of home believed that the Irish Catholics should be grateful just to be allowed to exist and under the constant fear of being burnt from their homes, driven out on to the street in their own country, not allowed to be equal in their own lands, The fight was long and bitter, a very high priced had to paid by to many people just to be allowed to be free people in their own country, We have many to thank for the great sacrifices they made for others, Shane did in a wild free thinking way with song, drinks, dancing, with music, with love and great understanding and with total kindness for the poor, the down trodden, for the homeless, the poor and those that are looked down . God blessed you Shane and you are now in heaven with your dear Mothers, all members of your family, relations and friends, and people that you meet along the way who passed away before you passed away. Shane your funeral mass was the very best, full of joy, love, song, dance and holy mass, what a way to leave this dirty old town behind
