lol when I first went vegan my mom kept mentioning me being gluten free and I kept having to remind her that they are not related. It's funny that so many people conflate the two.
wow ive never heard that word "conflate" before! thankyou xtinkerbellax3! im off now to conflate some greens with some sweet potatoes for lunch! :) gonna pick some lettuce leaves from my pots on the porch and wrap them round the little rolled balls of mashed sweet potato that ive got heating and hopefully crisping up in the oven! ps..LOVE to you vegan view girls from us Aussies! your videos are always compassionate. always inspiring. always sane. xox
I became vegan August of 2015 and I didn’t really have a reason to become vegan I just decided I wanted to try something new as I was moving away from home for the first time to move to LA. One of the biggest reasons I stayed vegan besides the obvious ones was because I always hated touching raw meat while I was cooking.
Have vegan options available. Cut up fruits & veggies; buy packs of nut & raisins for your purse; always carry an apple; single serving cups of hummus & guacamole with veggies can save you when you're "starving"; buy a good smoothie maker (I love my NutraBullet); drink plenty of water.
I have been slowly transitioning from vegetarian (9 years and counting) to vegan! I'm going to really push myself this month and your videos have been helping so much. Thank you for all that you do!
Going grocery shopping has always been one of my favorite things to do, it makes me so happy picking out my food for the week and dancing to the music in the store and whizzing around with the trolley. Now that I'm vegan, going to the supermarket is even better! Just knowing that every item I pick is an item where nothing had to be harmed, no suffering took place in the making of the products I'm purchasing, every item I pick is a conscious choice for me, my health, the animals and the planet. It makes me so happy! And you never know who you might inspire while going grocery shopping!
You ladies are so beautiful. That is the best advertisement for veganism. I am in my 50s and most people think I am much younger. Love your new channel!
you guys should totally do a podcast!! i think it would be fun, informative, helpful interesting... it could be about topics that you do in videos, interviewing people and more.. would you consider it?
I saw a meme/quote online once and I think of it every time I eat now and it brings me so much joy!! It said: eat LIFE (plants) not DEATH (animals) - this struck such a chord with me and now I can’t shake it and it’s literally a mantra now and I share it with everyone! Take a second to think about what you’re eating, is it alive? Or is it dead? Chose life!!
Topic Ideas: Gardens, Do you grow your own food and do you chose organic/ non gmo ,csa farmers, local is best, what is most important in food sources being vegan
My tip is to keep a food diary, and write the animal products that you ate. Notice the patterns (for me, it was repeatedly butted and sour cream), so I realized that I needed to learn how to make sour cream. Found an easy recipe from OhSheGlows.
ive been plant based for 6 months for health reasons, i declared myself as full on vegan after a few videos of slaughter houses etc... when you go plant based/vegan for the right reasons you don't miss or crave any of the animal products or at least i don't anymore. :)
Topics that would be helpful for people I think would be label reading, what hidden things are not vegan on labels of processed foods. also what got me once was wine. I would have thought it's grapes, what could go wrong then I find out it is filtered in bone char wtf. They got me who would have guessed that. maybe apps that help with knowing what is vegan or lists of ingredients to watch out for for beginning vegans would benefit lots of people.
just found your channel and im obsessed, love the open minded conversations, been year a year and half and definitely been a journey, love your content ladies keep it up :D
You all have amazing content regarding Veganism. Afterwhile, other Youtoubers run out of topics centered around the diet and lifestyle. But with you guys, I can barely finish the current video because I’m so excited to click on a video that I’ve been curious about.
What helps me is to think about how this new lifestyle is healing me. Emotional, mental and physical healing. Steps toward healing. You arent waiting on anything but instead taking action to heal yourself.
I just found this channel this morning and I've been binge watching since 7 am. I keep opening new videos in new tabs. I think I'm hooked on you guys. And so much back content to watch too! I think I've found my source of inspiration!
Suga in a Kookie jar I'm the only vegan in a family of vegetarians. They think I'm gonna die of calcium deficiency and I'm joining a cult or something. Don't sweat it. Lol
LOL! have you tried to talk to her about how dairy cows are treated and how chickens used for egg production lay like a million more eggs than they would under natural circumstances? (maybe get some actual numbers and data before presenting the argument lol) If she's already vegan that might help her understand your point of view. Good for you though for being full vegan
just don't start praying to potatoes and she'll get over it! lol! I come from a long line of dairy farmer who all thought I joined a weird cult but 3 years later they're all used to it :)
Fantastic video, great information. Thank you. Just an inside for females wanting to get males to understand. Go the health route! Thats what got me. And i never say i can't have it, i say i don't want. And i was shocked when i really started looking at what is in food.
Dani were you filmed on the bachelor for one of the girls introduction? It was the realtor and I had a double take cuz I recognized you and your husband and baby
Hello beautiful ladies. Thank you for the vid. I’ve decided for 2018 to recommit to the vegan lifestyle. I followed a plant based diet for about three years but stopped due to multiple stressors in my life. You ladies are a wealth of information and compassion. Wishing all of you blessings in this new year🎊
Guys, great video! I'm latin and new in veganism!!! I'm obsessed with vegan food and it's a little hard with friends and family cause Latin people is really into meat and stuff, so I'm the "weird" hahaha, thanks for your video! Love!
Really nice points and neatly summed up! This is what I'm trying to show too, that being vegan and eating this way can be so much fun, and an adventure! Also, I totally agree that at the beginning it is easier to ease into this style, starting with food and following with the clothes and cosmetics and stuff like this... And I love discovering new vegan channels! I really think that every person who can spread the message should do it, because that's the only way we can change something in this world!
Thank you ladies for all the suggestions! First I found Hannah’s channel for cruelty free fashion and beauty options. Even though I was vegetarian for years, I never really thought of what I wear and use, then realising the impact, I was in a search for advice on what to replace these items with. My intention wasn’t to eat vegan but by finding your show and looking at the references, I also realised how bad the dairy industry is - I am now vegan for two weeks and I enjoying it. Thanks for all the info and inspiration! Looking forward to the new episodes! X
WOOHOO!! You're going to love it. Almost every vegan I've ever met had told me it's the best decision they've made. Let us know how it goes and if you have questions or get stuck on recipe ideas
NikkiVegan I’ve been slowing going vegan for the last couple months but I wasn’t being super strict. I never ate meat but I had a couple times where I ate pasta with egg in it or cheese. But from now on I’m going to be more attentive about being fully vegan! 🌱 I have a couple things I am struggling with one being telling my coworkers. I work in a hospital and we always have potlucks or doctors always bring sweets and I don’t know how to reject that food nicely and eventually tell them I’m vegan without “offending” anyone. 🙄 PLEASE help!!!! No one knows I’m vegan at work and I don’t know how to tell them without being made fun of or getting criticized. Also, any recipes for a vegan steak n cheese sub and vegan tortellini!? I miss soooo much 😭😭😭
Don’t know what I would do without the vegan view! Getting out my handy dandy French press... and some good ol Starbucks house blend... along with a dash of hazelnut almond milk... and let’s get binge watching.. ((No one said I was low maintenance lol)) . .. ... .... ..... ...... ....... ........ ....... ...... ..... .... ... .. . ✌🏼❤️😊
We encourage people to think outside the box. What would a person do if it was discovered they were allergic to eggs, dairy, nuts, wheat, or their child was Type 1 diabetic? They would adapt. In fact we have a lot of friends who have family member with diary and or egg allergies. And our son was born Type 1 diabetic. People make becoming plant based such a chore. Or punishment. If someone is working to give up drinking, smoking they may not succeed at first, but they keep trying. We became vegetarians (which was more like vegan) in 1976, and it was a process. Started by not buying meat. Then we discovered we only used eggs on occasion when we baked items. So we found an alternative. Dairy wasn't hard since we never were big dairy people. We have never encountered any negative comments per our plant based lifestyle, and I think its because we just never talk about it (lecture) we just do it. May help that we are native Californians where a plethora of fresh fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts are bountiful.
Thanks for your positive message. Doing something is better than doing nothing. I've started my vegan journey on July 2015. Although I eat mostly plant based/use vegan products, sometimes, I consciously eat/use non vegan products. It's a journey, and I hope to became a better traveller with time.
Thank you! Traveling definitely makes things trickier. I paid for the Vegan Passport app on my last trip abroad and it was a tremendous help in communicating with a language barrier! Best of luck to you :)
Hannah Hagler When i said "traveller" in the journey, I meant to become a vegan, not travelling abroad (lol). Here in Lisbon, I have some difficulties in chinese restaurants, I ask for no aninal products, sometimes i have the feeling they say "ok", but i'm not sure the dish they bring is vegan (and they only talk chinese and a little bit of portuguese).
Hannah Hagler Thanks! Maybe next time I use the app or google translate (playing the audio) to see if they can understand me. I would love to see a vlog from you in Lisbon or a vegan view reunion here. The weather is very nice and Lisbon is a very vegan friendly city (ice creams, burgers, pizzas,...) and non related food items, also.
I'm on day 13 of eating vegan and have found lots of great recipes from vegan RUclipsrs, Instagramers, and Pintrest accounts. As well as looking online at menus from vegan resturants. Or just walking through the vegan sections of grocery stores like Trader Joes and Whole Foods.
Tip for those who work in a restaurant or fast food place that has extremely little to no vegan options, bring your own meals snacks etc, make vegan versions of some your favourite dishes that the fast food place or restaurant has on their menu, another option is eat before you get to work. When I first was transitioning into becoming vegan I would make the excuse of oh I'm trying get my body on a schedule and not eat at night as I work the graveyard shift at a fast food place. Than I started bringing in my meals giving myself time before clocking in my shift and eat in the crew's breakroom just so my friends at work would see I truly was eating just not our work's food anymore, for like Nikki I too have suffered from eating disorders in the past, once everyone who were working saw the delicious food & there wasn't any animal nor animal products that's when my friends from work began asking questions it was only then did I mention I am vegan now. For a video idea I would love to see a video of how to deal with co-workers who are just don't get veganism and are jerks about it & how to cope when you are in a non-vegan work environment, I have a few understanding co-workers one bless his soul forgets sometimes when offering some food he brought in or offering the left overs after changing over from dinner to breakfast, I kindly say thank you so very much but I'm going to wait til I get home, he quickly remembers I am vegan and apologises to me than he does his very best to remember that I'm vegan, but still get mucked or even avoided by others leaving me at times really at a lost as to what to say. ....if there's any words left out or miss spelled I'm sorry, I've been up all night and haven't been to bed yet
I believe that as a Vegan, I'm kind and compassionate. My believe is that people are drawn to happy healthy people. I'm not judgmental of others and on how they eat. My actions and behavior have spoken for my Vegan lifestyle. I now have friends and family that are going and have gone Vegan because of that but not because I judge them, questioned them or talked about the subject. In fact, I don't talk about Veganism...unless people ask. When they are intrigued as to why you look so healthy, calm, happy and yes, younger!! Haha ;) The questions about how to become one started coming! So, my best advise would be. Be you, allow others to go through their own journey, those that love you will eventually understand that it is not a face and eventually some will join happily on their own and most above all BE KIND TO YOURSELF AND OTHERS in the process of becoming an ethical, loving and compassionate Vegan! (Nobody likes a pushy, obsessed and extremist Vegan)
Topic Ideas: What information about vegan life style or written material etc(cook books/authors/activists etc) Movies/documentary that inspired you or you considered a game changer to your vegan journey.
The thumbnail is adorable! I’ve been obsessed with persimmon lately. I really love this video. I keep getting a bunch of questions about going vegan for veganuary, so I’m definitely going to share this with my friends and family. I think social media is a great way to connect with vegans for support and help to transition. There’s also so many forums online and there’s even a vegan community app called Vegan Amino (it’s like a vegan Facebook)
Haha thanks! Nisha brought over a bunch of persimmons from the farmer's market and they were so fresh and amazing! I hope they find this video helpful, and thanks for sharing! :) I love Vegan Amino too!
I love this video and that is so funny about the not synony vegan and gluten free. I am gluten intolerant and have now been vegan for over a year so since my friends and family know this I feel like I am contributing to the confusion lol.
Diane Propson we have close up cameras and a main camera and we always look at the main camera. The close up camera is just to give another angle and some interest :)
I went to Starbucks in the beginning and asked if they had any vegan options for breakfast ( after he stutters /chokes over the word vegan) he said well some of them eat egg so... and I said I’m sorry no vegans don’t eat eggs lol xO Davita
inagadda1976 they have a lot more vegan options now and I love it.. I do no dairy and egg and they have vegan bagels and coconut macaroons, as well as chickpuffs and some drinks are vegan just sub milk for plant based
My mom keeps telling my hair is going to fall out if I don’t eat meat.(she says the B-12 in meat) I’ve been vegan for 3 months (ik not a long time) Can someone recommend a vegan vitamin that is not crazy expensive that will ease my mother’s worries.
ally I mean... you can probably just show her one of our videos... haha. We clearly do NOT have issues with hair falling out. But I do love a chewable methyl b-12 tablet I get from thrive market! Linked it in my vegan snacks haul video 💗💗💗
alena matirniy haha!! Well I can tell you personally I was sick 4-5 times a year before going vegan and now I’m only sick 1-2 times and I recover much quicker! I’ll take it!
Back to Vegan again after thinking I could eat meat & dairy. End Result of believing I could eat those things---candida & digestive problems--basically f-ing with my whole body health. I have tried many times to be vegan, but have to supplement iron & this has been my biggest problem. I will be more vigillant with my Floridix iron consumption & get b12 shots that are only $25 at anylabtestnow. I've never felt better about my health, animals, body & environment. Best advice to someone starting, get some lab work done before/during/after, doesn't matter---odds are you won't b deficient in anything, but if you are, you'll have the facts on how to make it better, vs going back to animals products thinking you'll be better off or it being the only way to maintain health--like I did. The products I cannot LIVE without are Vegainase (vegan mayo) and Daiya cheese and the Gardein Pizza POCKETS~ Both taste better & I've had other non-vegans say they're better than the real thing hands down.
Ever since Ceo Steve Kass's sister-in-law Nancy Salzman was convicted of running Executive Success Program / NXIVM, and Marley Kass daughter of Ceo Steve Kass became an animal tester and researcher, I refuse to buy Tofutti.
I really enjoyed watching the video because I feel like you’re not trying to make meat eaters feel guilty and that’s really important to sensitize people that don’t know anything about veganism. However, the instagram account you’re talking about that posts comics shows, in my opinion, close to the worst things to say to a non-vegan (the first ones being agressive vegans of course). Everyone knows that meat comes from dead animals and this account represents meat eaters like stupid, selfish and horrible people while they’re not, and the majority of them are just not conscious of the consequences or not concerned by animals at all. To me, the best way to introduce veganism to someone is just by telling him you used to be like him and talk about the consequences on the environment which are alarming rather than telling him over and over that he is eating dead animals/bodies. That’s just my opinion and I don’t think you guys are like that but it’s just that I hesitated for a long time to become vegan because all the ones I met were agressive, extremists and really annoying telling everyone : « animals have feelings, you should love them, you’re such a bad person, how can you be eating meat » + 1 follow though cause I really enjoyed the video and I can’t wait to see new ones like that.
Louise Daire I’m so glad you shared your thoughts on this, and I’m happy you like the channel! The Instagram account is definitely not for everyone, and I didn’t mention it with the intention that people should repeat exactly what the comic says, so my apologies if it came off that way. When I first went vegan I got a lot of backlash and mean comments from people and I wasn’t prepared for it. The comics helped me feel better, almost as if reading them was letting out any frustration I had. I interpret the comics to be dark humor, more-so facetious. I hope through our various videos we’ve made it clear we feel overall compassion is the best approach! :)
If you have children telling people you eat a vegan diet is like the worst thing you can do. They immediately start judging you and telling you what you are forcing on your child. All the time not realizing what they are forcing on their own children. Or they will try and offer you children meat products. Its like should I slap you now or later.
I'm a carnivore my health is great. 5percent bodyfat don't lie. How many vegans are totally shredded. I got my dam lipid results , I challenge anyone of you to show me your results. I was considering veganism but a lot of vegans out there degrade others. You're no dam better than anyone else. You'll never convert other's when all you do is hate on others. Good luck to all of you I'm chewing on a half raw steak now. Stop hating others mind your own fuckin buisiness. Dam this steak is bloody and good.
teezee baby First of all what's killing the planet is people who spread hate and downgradeqothers. I personally wasn't talking to you. I was talking to individuals who talk shit to others because their dietary ways. The vegan community should spread acceptance not hate. What's killing the fuckin planet is carbs, sugar and cults like yourself. Woman in general are evil. What animal bleeds and doesn't die? Don't criticise me , vegetables organic or not is killing the planet and fuckin people who spread hate. Dam eat your way and shut up. Let's see who is stronger plants or muscular carnivores.

Gotcha, thanks for clarifying! That app might still help in those restaurants, you can pull up a different language and show the server :)
Love this!! Yes, just making steps towards eating vegan and not stressing about it is good! Great tips!
Thanks Mariah! Glad you can relate
Video topic idea: What do you think of the word Vystopia?
Does it help describe how you sometimes feel?
I'm totally like Nisha, i just told my bf. Not telling anyone else, i prefer like this i'm getting to know myself i feel great. Thank you
The only problem I had when saying vegetarian is everyone wants to load you up on dairy, eggs and sometimes fish.
Love your videos guys, thanks for spreading the vegan message so well! :)
(Nobody likes a pushy, obsessed and extremist Vegan)

i'd love to have not been able to tell people, but i live with my parents still, so i had to tell my mom lol
I have that sweater @hannahhagler also in ivory too!
Shannon Mowery ooh twins! :) it’s so comfy!
Hannah Hagler persimmons from the farmers market are the best! I’m going to be so sad in a week or so when they are out of season;(
Lol @ glutenfree and vegan, my co-workers 😆
right? so funny lol
I love this video and that is so funny about the not synony vegan and gluten free. I am gluten intolerant and have now been vegan for over a year so since my friends and family know this I feel like I am contributing to the confusion lol.
Hey Nikki love your top
I loved this video. But curious, on the close-ups, everyone seems to be looking at the wrong camera?
Diane Propson we have close up cameras and a main camera and we always look at the main camera. The close up camera is just to give another angle and some interest :)
Thank you for the reply. Have been binge watching the videos. Excellent job.
Topic Ideas: What was the moment that you decided to go vegan was their a moment or was it a health choice that was more the need.
Great channel ☕️❤️
I'm doing, Vegan diet and Calisthenics Fitness experiment on my RUclips channel!
Saving money and staying healthy is my Goal.
I can't eat tons of carbs! I guess I'm an outlier. I have to be a low-carb vegan.
What do your necklaces say?
What is inside the cups?
XperiMental probably coffee
La Croix 😂
If someone confuses gluten-free with vegan, then I’d ask, “wait, do you know what vegan means?” Simple!
Hope that helps anyone.
Cheers! 🤙🏼
I like to follow "HappyHealthyVegan" and "PickUpLimes" on You Tube.
Shari Garton we love them too!
I do no dairy and egg and they have vegan bagels and coconut macaroons, as well as chickpuffs and some drinks are vegan just sub milk for plant based
Starbucks in Manila does Oats and I have it with steamed Soy milk. Delicious 😊
Hannah Hagler thank you sm
my favorite comment I get a lot is I thought because you eat healthy you can get sick so why are you and kids sick...
alena matirniy haha!! Well I can tell you personally I was sick 4-5 times a year before going vegan and now I’m only sick 1-2 times and I recover much quicker! I’ll take it!
Hannah Hagler right lol we get sick maybe 2xs a year now vs before and in 3 days I'm fine
What was the name of that instagram account with comebacks? I can't find it vegansidekick ?
Tenille Stewart yeah! instagram.com/vegansidekick
Hannah Hagler thank you much 💜
Back to Vegan again after thinking I could eat meat & dairy.
That’s just my opinion and I don’t think you guys are like that but it’s just that I hesitated for a long time to become vegan because all the ones I met were agressive, extremists and really annoying telling everyone : « animals have feelings, you should love them, you’re such a bad person, how can you be eating meat »
+ 1 follow though cause I really enjoyed the video and I can’t wait to see new ones like that.
❤️❤️❤️
Kevin Jackson you’re killing the planet I live on with your selfish choices so it is my business 🤷♀️
teezee baby First of all what's killing the planet is people who spread hate and downgradeqothers. Let's see who is stronger plants or muscular carnivores.
i need chemo after watching this crap.
