Hi, I like the idea of the tool box/step, perhaps a removable insert to allow the step to be used with out having to empty all of the tools out would be good. I was thinking about joining my local man shed but I'm not great with new people. Maybe I just need to jump in and do it. I'm not sure how the algorithm works but your videos don't show up on my feed. I'm going to binge watch now and hopefully that will make RUclips show your videos on my page. Keep up the great work.

Hi thanks for watching and commenting, I think you should try men's shed, many men find meeting new people uncomfortable, but my experience is it doesn't take long for those people to become a core part of the shed. All sheds are different, but that's been my experience volunteering at my local shed.

Sorry I meant to add that, the final design for the stool tool box will be that it can function as either without any fuss.

Thanks for the channel update Simon, it's good to hear you have number of ideas in mind for future content, I think the Tote/Household Handy/Stool ideas could be really good, there are loads of ideas out there on Pinterest etc and I'm sure you'd come up with something practical and interesting to watch !
Have you seen Peter Millard's recent Tote builds on "10 minute workshop" light weight ply and some clever features !
Keep up the good work, I think you deserve many more subscribers, and will keep watching and commenting ! 😉

Thanks for the open discussion, Simon. You’re obviously going to crack on with all these good ideas sometime as you have already identified the beneficiaries. Your videos are very good in my opinion because of this focus on a purpose for the product, you are not teaching us techniques in detail as such. There are plenty of those videos and the best are superb, there are also many average repeats produced by others.
I like your product focus, keep it up. I have been inspired to try a few, 3 I think, of these and have plans for another couple at present. Your demo came in very handy, especially the Workmate modifications.
    Thank you.

Thanks for the update. I enjoy your videos although the typical RUclips issue of not showing them to me persists. Only just found this one and its 4 or 5 days old already. Not that I watch all videos as soon as they come out anyway. Thanks for what you do. It inspires me to keep going in my workshop.... or trying to.

Bottle stoppers are a good idea, I'll have to research bottle openers, I'm guessing i'll need to buy the actual metal opener. Thanks for watching and continuing to comment. 🙂

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. It‘s not easy to release a video once a week. The algorithm is a pain for not producing alot. I‘d assume you‘ll take four times more time creating stuff, due to camera setup, lighting, process sharing, video editing, then otherwise. It mustn‘t be much to show. Longer projects could be split across several videos, but with the drawback of projects not being interesting ‚enough‘ to draw away attention.
Some projects even take several weeks, months or even years to create, and you can only show so much of a fraction effort you put in.
Don‘t push it, and do it with the pace you like.

Thanks for the suggestions and tips, I recon a project takes about 3x as long when you take into account shooting video, production etc. And the format has left me avoiding more complex projects.

Thanks for letting me know! 🙂 Tool tote will come to the channel but, it's not yet fully formulated, my biggest concern is weight, so I'm still mulling over construction approaches and materials.
