5 years ago I had 10 tanks, now I have one. I started to get busy and my tanks were suffering so I stopped completely and had no fish for 3 years. Now I have one tank next to my bed and I'm happy with just the one.
I hear you man, I hear you! I've got it..lol! Not only do I enjoy watching my fish and caring for them...I feel trapped! They are all breeding and having babies! Not just the fish, also the shrimps, snails, everything! So far, I'm up to 3 tanks, and soon number 4. And... I don't have the room! Worst! ..everyone thinks I'm that crazy cat women..only thing is, I'm that dude with fish!
I only have a 5 gallon tank. I am determined to just have this tank for simplicity's sake. The livestock and plant limitations have given me an ongoing battle with MTS, but I am proud to say that I am a MTS survivor!
I'm limited by my number of outlets, thank God Lol I've had one tank, I've had three. I've bought some and given some away, had 5, 10, 20 gallons, had a couple of 40's....Now I'm in my new apartment and have started over with a little dirted/planted 10. This is just to keep me from dying without tanks. I've been planning my next big tank for the past year, stock lists, layouts, supplies....I can't wait to buy everything and get started :)
My new way for curing MTS is turning smaller tanks into sumps for my bigger tanks, it results in less maintenance in the end, cheaper to maintain too. Its sure nice to be able to gravel vac right into the sump and not have to worry about adding water after.
Evan this video has me laughing out loud in the dark! Thought it would be a good wind-down before going to sleep but not really looking that way.. I love learning from you and watching your videos. Please keep doing your thing and being you; much appreciated.
I've had multitank syndrome before. I kind of cured myself from it. But i can relate to what you say, i never got to 16 tanks, but the fact i was aquascaping every single one of those tanks made it more of a chore than fun. I would love to get multitank syndrome again as i miss having more than just the one tank, but i just can't fit it in my life at the moment.
I have a 10 gallon tank,my fish have dropsy so I checked the web so I saw an article saying I should add 1 teaspoon of sea salt per gallon,am I right with this treating technique.
I`m glad to see you are still making videos...I enjoy you advice/opinion.T just realized I have Multiple Tank Syndrome, and I`m glad you are exposing it...hahaha.Keep the Videos coming.
I am youngish woman who to suffers from; MTS! :-) I live in a one bedroom apartment and I have a tank in each room other than the bathroom and kitchen so far..... One in my bedroom, three in my in my lounge, one in my home office. I have SO much spare filters etc. etc., but I have a huge unit that I store all that stuff in. I made two stands myself to put two of my tanks on in my bedroom & office, I have moved my tanks around over the years in different rooms, and I have a mixture of tropical and goldfish, which I still do have now. I find it quite exciting when I set up a new tank! I do plan(kind of!) to add more tanks but I have very little space for them, so I would like to move home and have a fish room for all my tanks and many more :-D
We started with a 45 litre then with in the 6 months we upgraded to a 60l then a 95l then a 180l and now a 240 litre and now have a 27 litre for our betta, it is so tempting to get another tank for the kitchen but I'm telling myself nooooo! Fish keeping is crazy addictive and I love the fish and the aquascaping, I'm trying to keep it under control x
I have 2 tanks. 15 long in my bedroom with neon tetras platies and soon to be electric blue rams and a 4ft (Not sure what gallon) tank with two, 11year old goldfish. :P I used to have a 6 gallon with a siamese fighter, but even when i had that i wouldn't say I had mts.
+cloud9aquariums So happy to see you back to making videos!!!! I have only been back in the hobby for about a year now and I already have five set up and also some outside tubs and a pond! MTS is strong!
I never breed fish because they said before you breed them, you must fist plan how to care for them and what to do next. Normally people sell fish offspring to fish shop and... Give away is not always work.
I see you have a ton of fish/plants and every tank looks supreme. I was curious if you've thought about selling some stuff. I'm sure you'd make a killing and you can get back some of that money you spend fulfilling you MTS. If you decide to sell I'd definitely buy before I hit up any of these chain stores. Just a thought.
I used to have multiple tank syndrome, except for me it was tarantulas rather than fish, I had twenty-something different species of tarantulas, and multiples of the same species.
If you can't afford MTS, you can do what I do and just watch atleast 2 hours of fish tank videos every day. Seriously, some of Evan's videos I have watched multiple times the past 6 months, just obsessing over getting the proper information for my next tank project.
1. Welcome back 2. Love the vid, you're so funny dude 3. You should find a way to lock your autofocus while recording, it keeps refocusing which is kinda annoying
When I first got into the hobby, when I was like 11 years old, totally got multiple tank syndrome. It was bad (for an 11 year old) not as bad as you ha ha. I learned a lot from my mistakes and when I reentered the hobby I knew to actively restrain myself, and I am better off for it, ha ha.
I found it to be easier to gravel clean with semi-bare bottom (few sprinkles of gravel to help with surface area for beneficial bacteria to grow) for my 5 gal fry tank. And, smaller water changes are great.
The biggest downfall to MTS is human mortality. If for any reason we become incapacitated or die, our pets will inevitably suffer. I personally don't know anyone willing to care for my 55+ fish spread over 6 different sized aquariums. Yep, the real bitch about this hobby is our tanks will most likely outlast us with no assurance that family/friends will pick up where we left off.
@@cloud9aquariums hey there lol, at one point i had 2 tanks and was loving it(you were right about multiple tank syndrome). Stepped back from the hobby a while ago cause i had some things going on. Will definitely pick it back up in the future. Also, thanks for posting, you were great help for getting started. Much appreciated.
+cloud9aquariums hey evan where have you gone man would love to see a update with what your up to at the moment with your tanks if you get a chance to do a update
What stops me from having multiple tank syndrome?
The electricity bill xD
+FNMasterChannel rack em can help that allot

You need to make more videos... it been awhile. I havn't had one pop up on my notifications in a long time.
GO CHECK THOSE NOTIFICATIONS AGAIN!!!!

i can guess how much i got but im not 100% accurate lol

Omg you are so right. I do sit in my computer chair and go from tank to tank.
Actually, a tank in the bathroom would be pretty entertaining when you're taking a dump

@cloud9aquariums I was wondering if you sell any plants? I've been looking for certain types but haven't had any luck finding any in my area.
Welcome back!
What is that fish in the tank with those floating plants? It looks like a betta but it is so big!
I can imagine like a Rx commercial about MTS.
OMG! You nailed it!
Nice hair cut Evan.
Do you think a bare - bottom fry tank is good, bad or doesn't it matter?

You, sir, are the messiah.
