Interesting note on the guppies. Is there any sort of bottom feeder that could help with the algae on the floor? Crabs? No. It would be nice to see some sea shells down there. 🐚
The nerite snails do a pretty good job of cleaning it. But the real fix would be to stop the algae from growing down there altogether lol. Which is what I've taken care of after some time.
@@ormsonaquariumdesign3587 I have a 40 gallon breeder right now with bumblebee goby and figure 8 puffer. You think I could do archers as well or would that not end well?
A little bit. I just got 2 custom packs from them for my congo tank and the betta brownorum biotope. I plan on building a large plywood tank for the archer when it starts to outgrow the 40 and I'll most likely be using things similar to what they offer.
This sand was a combination of refugium sand and crushed coral. I don’t remember brands. It was just whatever they had at PetsMart/Petco when I was setting this tank up most likely.

I kept mine in a 40 breeder because it was just one archer and he was a juvenile. I’d suggest a larger footprint for more fish
How is this tank doing? Haven’t seen any updates. I’m terrified of keeping archers and needlefish in open top tanks as they tend to jump quite a lot.
This tank was broken down and the fish were rehomed when I moved. It’s one of my all time favorite tanks I’ve down though
Have you looked into the new estuary range from tannin aquatics?

Cool! I wanna do this too. :)
Get a dragon goby, the algae growing on the sand will be gone
what sand do you use?

How did you get rid of the ick?
+bob abraham just bumped up the temperature in the tank to kill it off
