Thank you Roland for the epic trip and sharing your encyclopedic knowledge of this great sport. That big one we got on the backup Senko is a catch I’ll always remember. Tight lines!
@@goreyboggs Rob is so cool. He gave me so many tips on how to finesse fish last year and now I’m pretty much a pro this year (well…by comparison 🤣👍) He always takes the time to message me back 👊🤨
I've been following up all my missed top water bites with a worm since you told me years ago about that trick. Thanks Roland i appreciate you buddy. God Bless and safe adventures
FYI: Most probably don’t know that rod most likely wasn’t broken just then, graphite rods don’t take well to hammering and banging around. I caught a steelhead years ago and when I netted it I noticed the tip of my rod (about 8”) was down at the lure, I hadn’t felt or noticed it brake. Later a guy at the Lamiglass factory (Woodland, Wa.) explained to me that sometimes if you bang or hit your graphite rod on an edge of something it may take a year or more to develop. If the rod gets hit hard enough to cause small fractures they continue to grow and spread until one day you put a load on your rod and it brakes in two for no apparent reason, and you’re like WTH. Don’t run around with you rods hanging over the tailgate of your pickup or over hard edges in your boat like I see guys do. Just a heads up.

good and entertaining with big fish
I discovered if you miss bass strike, sometimes if you cast to the same hole, but at a different cast angle, you get the bass to strike again…

I want to go fishing with Roland
If your barbs ain’t smashed then smash them and the hooks will be much easier to remove with less injury to the fish.
