i’m honestly shocked it’s not higher. i have egoism difficult pfced and endymion basic flagged but i have like 11 greats on this, it just feels so unlearnable. i guess it’s easier for visual timers but as an auditory player it feels like the slowdown goes to absolutely nothing
The pattern and rhythm looks simple to do though. At least for me. I can full combo this no problem but aiming for a PFC seems manageable to do to be fair
All the old 9-footers that got rerated to only a 12 and THIS gets put at 13? :\ Was one of the easier 9s back in the day and its barely a hard-11/easy-12 now imho.
Except several 11-12 do have those and/or have significantly trickier/more demanding XO patterns? Ex: "A"-CSP contains a much harder XO pattern (and at a faster 191bpm) and is another Old-9, but it only got rerated at 12. (And you can't trivialize its XOs with basic, beginner-level shuffling/double-stepping). And even if the XO gallop or BPM shifts were actually complicated, the "20-seconds with only 31-steps" ( 0:42 - 1:02 ) alone put this way below a lot of 12s. I can't think of any other 13 with almost a fifth of its runtime barely hitting a 1.5 steps/second.

I always loved this song. I could only ever get a AA on it
On the premise of clear , this is very suitable 13 (this is also my first 13 passed song)
Surprisingly hard for a 5thMIX chart. Sanbai has this as a 13.75, roughly the same as ENDYMION BSP or Egoism 440 DSP (both at 13.80).
It was my tournament pick due to the weird beats and speed changes back in the early 00s (won a tri state tournament with this song in finals once).

PFC is a bitch. I tried this at least 8 times. @0:52 the 16th note followed by the 1/4 is way off and my ears dont help. the speed up is easy
The mid section changes BPM up and down in increments of 2 like 20 times and it’s really annoying, apart from BPM changes it’s okay

This is fine as an easy 13. That said, I think Rain of Sorrow is harder than this and that's a 12.
No, it was one of the harder 9s. While I don't think it's a 14, IF they made it a 14 it would make far more sense than if they made it a 12.
