  • Of the over 2 million sport injuries reported in high school athletes, the ankle is the most commonly reported area of injury.
Inversion, eversion and even the high ankle sprain are associated with a disruption in proprioceptive control that can follow these injuries for years.
Join Dr Splichal as she reviews the common ankle sprain presentation, mechanism of injury and current rehab protocol for both acute and chronic ankle injury.
Learn how research now supports early mobilization and plantar mechanoceptive stimulation - and why traditional proprioceptive training is just not enough!

I winced/flinched probably 100 times in the first half of this video. HAHAHA Such great info though, even if I'm probably not the target audience. Thank you!

In the video, you mention that if a peroneal tendon is torn (grade 3, complete tear) it is not a surgical emergency. Does that mean if someone has a Peroneal Subluxation that they would be better off just strengthening the ankle instead of surgery (because of the concern of scar tissue caused by the surgery)?
