The night view of downtown is especially wonderful! I admire the sense of the owner. It will be a reference for the layout to be produced. Thank you for uploading the video.
Rob, this was certainly a treat. One of the best tours you have done. This layout was packed with so much detail I had to pause it quite a few times. Thank you for sharing Phil's wonderful layout with us. He certainly has captured Western PA.
I have seen many detailed layouts, but this has to be the most detailed and realistic layouts I have ever seen. The man is a genius and has an eye for realism that most people do not have.
Great layout Phil. Love your attention to detail. Including family names on buildings and sense of humor. You're also a very good narrator. Thank you for sharing.
Dear Sir, Thanks for another great video! This layout is gobsmackingly beautiful and Mr. Gasiewicz's delightful explanations make it twice more interesting. Cheers from Brazil!
Hi Phil. Nice to see your top notch layout featured on one of Rob's top notch videos. You're both masters of your crafts. But I think a lot of Rob's success comes from his silent partner in the background. Thanks Phil for the nice tribute building. It is already one of my screen savers.
Another superb layout, I would love to travel on it! What a great concept Phil has come up with, a journey through time and the great memories of friends, family and heroes (anti-heroes?) just adds to the richness of it all. So many stories and ideas woven into it, with that ridge running throughout - coming forward and receding as needed, very complex, but wearing it all so lightly. Lovely work, and a great document you made of it Rob.
Just an amazing layout, and so many hidden gems. Love the idea of using the names of family and friends for the businesses and the 'little people' scenes around the layout
My God, what a beautiful model railway! I have been out of the hobby for 30 years and this has rekindled the emotion of what I always envisioned to one day have . I love how the video was put together , it was truly an enjoyable experience to watch . Thank you
Thanks for sharing this beautiful and inspiring layout. Phil's approach to the hobby is very refreshing as he details his layout by honoring friends and family and with a great sense of humor. Phil's modeling skills are very impressive! Philville is definitely the place to be!!
Those ending GoPro flyovers added extra 3D dimension. This layout is absolutely fantastic. Watched every second with a big smile on my face. The video ended and I wanted to comment, but when I went back, the video was gone, so I just typed PHILVILLE in the RUclips search and there it was :-) :-D Thanks so much for posting this video!
I love the progression and expansion in a period of years of a layout, my current layout started as a shelf switching puzzle that was 5 foot by one foot. It is now three levels, the hallway section and both stagings in length and width are 28.5 foot by 18 inches. The main layout room is a M configuration triple decker, and it’s 8’11 long x 7’8 wide room. Total mainline length is around 150-160 foot excluding the 25 foot helix which adds another 25-30 foot. I never thought that switching puzzle would come to be the origin story of what was always my dream prototype layout. Mine is based on the prototype. This layout is just incredible
Awesome layout Phil, i never seen such a detailed workmanship. And thank you Rob for doing this video, just one thing though I was looking forward to the painted fish 🐠 in the pond.
Very nice layout. I don't know if you have mentioned it in any of your other videos but I am just curious how come you have not been doing any videos on your own layout.. I've always looked forward into watching your videos and lately it's been a little dry nothing new lately. I hope all is well with you and your family and definitely looking forward to your next layout videos Jerry BNSF Northern Cali Trains
Awesome layout. That part with the controls in the landscape,....You should put some ladders and scaffolding there's with some HO figures reaching up to the switches
He has older engines so he probably doesn't have many " new" decoders. That being said the card is a fabulous idea. I have no memory for that stuff and it would help if I knew what can be done with that engine. Terrific railroad.
There was an article in MR mag sometime back about using fiber optics to light up autos and trucks by running the cable up through the bottom and you might have to drill out the head lights and tail lights. It would take some experimenting if you don't have access to the article. A great layout.
Only had time to watch the first 15 minutes so far, but loved all 15! It warmed my heart to see all those Atlas electrical switches on the side of the layout! Bulletproof, time proven stuff! The other thing I enjoyed was the comments about muting the sounds on engines! Call me an old fart, but I find sound to be the most annoying development in model railroading in the past 50 years! Maybe it’s from working on the railroad for a 41 career, but I don’t like it! Can’t wait to watch the rest!
Steve, I’ve watched a lot of you videos and couldn’t believe that I’ve never subscribed to your channel and I’m very sorry for that but now I’ve rectified that problem, LOL Thank you for doing such a great job in capturing his layout, it truly is beautiful, I’m jealous. Now that I’ve done the right thing and subscribed, I can’t wait to see more great stuff. BTW, your somewhat gag real was quite good, ILMAO, Ron
Thumbs up #800 !!! .....My #1 fav steam is the NYC j3a Hudson !! And there she be !!! I believe Atlas switches look American whereas Peco, which have become popular (partially due to the spring action), are a bit British in flavor. Nice to see adherence to Atlas CustomLine TOs on an A1 beautiful MRR !!! 1:06:08 = Supreme excellence !!!
Awsome layout. Unfortunately 40min into video and still no trains running. So many train vids where they explain every inch of the layout but never run trains.
It would be a good idea for you to get an off-camera mic. Not only will we be able to hear the guest clearly, but also (frankly) it'll eliminate the loud sound of your breathing. The videos you make are too good to be marred by the poor sound from your on-board mic, and the sound of your breathing is dominant in the audio.
The night view of downtown is especially wonderful! I admire the sense of the owner. It will be a reference for the layout to be produced. Thank you for uploading the video.
Absolutely stupendous layout 👍 And the burned out building is a first 👍
You guys basements are bigger than most UK houses🇬🇧
Phil strikes a really good balance of doing nice work and just having fun and enjoying it
This video is wonderful! It really got my creative juices flowing. Phil's imagination ans ability to weave picture stories is just fantastic.

Awesome skills.

I was hope to see you at the Strasburg meet and greet, sorry you weren't there
Im currently working on the Berkshire Valley Route from the same book of plans that the OPL is listed.

What happend to the fish you were going to show later on? Other wise good layout and tour.
Awsome layout. Unfortunately 40min into video and still no trains running. So many train vids where they explain every inch of the layout but never run trains.
The last part of the video after the night scene we see a bunch of layout trains running around with close up shots
I'm from Wny also
Why not call it Phill's River?
Is it my phone or the video is coming blurry ?

After 55min we see the first train running wow no fun talk talk .........😞
