    Well done video! After all these years of buying your products, I have never had a problem. Last week for the first time I called your company with an issue. I spoke to Melinda, she was GREAT and very cheerful. A new KS7 lower unit was rushed shipped to me. I received it yesterday in time for range day on the 12th. I offered to give her my credit card # to ensure that I would send the other one back. She said, it was not necessary; just send it back in the same box with the prepaid label that will be enclosed in the box. Talk about a great company with an outstanding employee who was happy to talk to a customer with a problem! Needless to say, the unit will be sent back tomorrow along with a thank you card. Now I can't wait to shoot it for the first time. As a side note, I love my lightweight inexpensive P17 with very usable sights. I have a Browning and a Ruger. I always grab the P17 as a sidearm when in the woods hunting or otherwise. It is easy to forget you are wearing it. The porcupines that were messing up my tree stand did not like it. Thank you KelTec for such a pleasant experience and the goodies in the box!!

    It likes true 2 3/4 high brass with a flush crimp.
    The aluminum follower and a stronger mag tube spring will fix a problematic ks7 most of the time.
    If it spits a shell out onto the lifter, the shell retaining tab may not have a true enough 90° degree angle.
    It likes to be lubed, preferably lithium grease on all contact points within the action.

      I do actually shoot skeet with it and am actually pretty good with it, it always surprises people because of how compact it is that it can reach out and make hits. Bull pups compact but still has some barrel length . I do love mine but pay attention to all the screws they will come loose . I had to call and get some from Keltec.

      You're supposed to immediately take that stupid thing off and replace it with the pic rail (and put some good irons on it). I know that KT goes on and on and on about how great that thing is, but truthfully, that dumb "carry handle" is just so that the gun grabbers don't feel so scared by it when they see it for sale. It makes the gun look clownish; which makes them feel less of a desire to ban it.

    It's not "completely ambi" because the safety isn't ambi. What's the point of an ambidextrous (downward ejecting) shotgun that doesn't have an ambidextrous safety? Not even a reversible safety. And the words "nice" and "cardboard box" should never be used in the same sentence together.

    • @InvidiousIgnoramus

      I'm lefty and I handled one in a local store just yesterday. While not ideal, I didn't find it too hard to take it off safe with my trigger finger knuckle.

    • @GrantDWilliams82
      @GrantDWilliams82 9 месяцев назад

      @@InvidiousIgnoramus I agree. It's not too hard - but why should I deal with the extra cost and complication of an "ambi" shotgun if the safety isn't any less difficult (isn't any less "ambi") than dealing with the safety on a cheap Mossberg 500? With all this extra cost and complication, I shouldn't have to use my trigger finger's knuckle. I shouldn't have to break my grip in any way. I should just be able to use my firing hand's thumb. Right handed or left.

    User error is a big deal on the KS7. The recoil causes me pain and then I lose my mind. After losing my mind, I become a short shucking loser. It wouldn't be a big deal but it is more difficult to clear a user induced malfunction than a traditional side ejecting pump like a Mossberg 500 or Remington 870. Is it more difficult to clear a malfunction than an Ithaca model 37? I don't know. Overall, I really like it but I had a several user induced malfunctions on my first range trip of about 50 rounds, including, field loads, buck shot, and slugs. Some malfunctions took 15-20 seconds to clear. I am not sure that I would trust it for home defense. However, shooting at clays, I actually shoot it better than my Mossberg 500. Maybe I will put a plug in it and duck hunt with it next year. Has anyone tried using a choke adapter with it?

    • @fargoalspach557
      @fargoalspach557 Год назад

      I thought the same 2 years ago but after 600 rnds I’ve become very proficient with its quirks and rarely have issues anymore. It makes a great home defense tool but for battle I’d probably swing elsewhere.

    • @4150CHF
      @4150CHF Год назад +1

      @@fargoalspach557 I believe you. However, you typed, "rarely have issues anymore." I want something that never has issues for home defense. I have rifles and pistols (not shotguns) that have never had a failure, not even user induced. Compared to other firearms, I frequently have user induced failures with my Mossberg 500 due to short shucking. When I say "frequently," I am talking about 2 or 3 times per year when duck hunting. The difference is that I can easily identify and clear the malfunction. With the Kel-Tec KS7, it usually takes longer to identify and clear. In a defensive situation, milliseconds count. I would not use my Mossberg 500 for defensive use either. The KS7 is a lot of fun. I just wanted to reiterate, I really like the KS7, just not for life and death situations.

    • @m.m4982
      @m.m4982 2 месяца назад

      You should have cycled it hundreds of times before your first range trip. Get comfortable with it and clearing it. Needs break in, if you try to do it at the range you're gonna waste a lot of time. After a few hundred it becomes extremely reliable and predictable. When I first got it I was frustrated when it would spit 2 out and jamming. But just took some breaking in.
