When you begin your videos with a pleasant "Hey guys how's it going?" and jump into the relevant material, you demonstrate you respect our time. Although I don't fast forward your videos, I know someone out there really appreciates the time stamps for a quick search. Thanks for your fun and informative content. I spend my mornings sipping coffee with Garden Answer's cheerful videos.
Time stamps wreck a channel's viewtime since creators don't get paid view time when you fast-forward through a video. They get paid based on how long you watch a video. And really, seven minutes isn't a long video.
@@Bamboo4U2 This may be true, but OP is right that some people just don't have the time to watch for any length of time when all they want is the watering requirements. "Respect[ing] our time" is big these days. A viewer leaving the video quickly doesn't matter as much as getting a return visit or another subscriber, imho. And she KNOWS we'll be back after just the tiniest snippet of her videos, because she is ADORABLE! And expert level informative, of course, but watching her explain stuff is a big part of that. You are always great at sharing your knowledge, never knew they would make good houseplants. I have a new sun porch and can’t wait to try one! Think it would be so nice for the holidays with little red bows all over it! You are always so joyful, kind, and happy in your videos; makes us all seem like you are a a good friend. Thank you, Laura.
Thank goodness for My garden answer fix for the day 😊❤️❤️ Love you Laura thank you for continually putting out videos.Your are my balance and a Blessing to us all .God Bless you and your beautiful family .
Love your cheery disposition!!! Enjoyable to watch! I would have never thought of a lemon cypress for the inside of the house. Such beauty and airy color in any room! Thanks for sharing!
Hey Laura! Thanks for the tips. I have a couple of these that are looking very unhappy, and I know now what I was doing wrong! Each of your videos is a gem. Keep 'em coming! 😊
I’m in Southern BC and love these plants. Ours are fine outside in winter and I have done some topiaries. So glad to see you can enjoy them inside and then put out into the landscape. Great information now that so many are available in Christmas planters. Take care, we are all excited to meet your sweet little girl in a few weeks.
Wonderful, helpful video! I had no idea that I should be sheering them for best color, and your description of a "stringy" cypress is completely accurate for one of mine - I just noticed today that it was struggling in the wrong spot in my yard, so you have inspired me to get out there tomorrow and give my 3 lemon cypress some love. xo
I absolutely love these plants! Thanks for the tips, you are so right by saying they do not like to get dried out, that and the light issue was always my problem.
Well, I've done it. Last winter I subscribed to GA and started at the beginning watching the entire back catalogue of videos both on the main and Highlights channel and this was the final unseen video (apart from those short highlight versions of longer videos etc.) After I watch the late 2020 and early 2021 videos over again, my plan is to go back and watch them all again, knowing now how it all ends up. Thanks Laura & Aaron & Dexter & Russell & Cheddar for being such a cheerful and soothing influence for my mental health as well as an inspiration to for my own gardening adventures.
Lemon Cypress >>> Gorgeous plant indeed! Thank You So Much for Your informative tutorial & for making the video in the 5 to 7 minutes range , just nice! Stay Safe & Stay Humble! 🕯🌷🕊🌍♥️
Perfect timing, one turned crunchy, and the other is doing great. Keeping the soil moist, and moved it to a south facing window! You save us so much heartache and $$.
Good morning Laura! You look lovely this morning. Hope you and your family are doing well 😊 Take care and stay safe. So enjoy all of your videos. Thank you for recommending Creekside in North Carolina I live in SC and all of her information certainly will help. But,I will never stop watching you because you are my favorite. You have such a warm and loving personally and all of your information isn't bad either. Stay safe 🙏
Coffee with Laura and a good suggestion for our classroom/playground as we are a zone 8b. I think the children would enjoy the pop of color when it's dreary and rainy here. Thanks for the tiips.
Thank you for this video. Bought a small lemon cypress in October and want to keep it through the winter. Now I know how. I love the smell of this tree.
Hi Laura you are finally doing a video on lemon cypress. As l have lots in pots and in ground in my garden. l have ball ones and ones l use for a hedge and shaped ones. it's a plant l really love and the smell is so lovely. And the colour so beautiful in any seasons. so thank you today for a great video.
Thank you, Laura! Selling these where ai work right now and while I knew they like to stay evenly moist I didnt know about light and temperature! My customers will benefit from my watching this!
Yes! Very helpful - was thinking about getting a small herd for my front door so I can walk through a very short forest before reaching my front door. Just for the holidays and light the way with icy twinkle lights. These are the perfect answer for sunlight and color and size! YEA.
This was very helpful since I know nothing when it comes to plants 😅 my 2 year old picked one of these out so now I am here to see how to care for them. Thank you 🙏🏼
Hi Laura & Aaron, Thanks so much for this video. I bought a couple lemon cypresses at my local garden centre last weekend. Good to know how to keep ‘em happy. They’re in little four-inch cans so I’m gonna repot them this week. These plants are special to me because my partner and I used to live in a tiny (under 400 square foot) apartment in Toronto. Obviously, there was no room for a Christmas tree but we could fit a lemon cypress on the table. We would decorate it and everything! Now we live in a house with a garden in Stratford, Ontario-the other Ontario! You’ve mentioned a few times that your channel has really blown up this year. I’m one of those people who decided to lean into my full-blown garden nerdom during this pandemic. (I’m an actor and playwright and my career has been essentially put on hold this year. It’s been...quite a journey.) But I’ve been watching your videos since the spring when I began transforming my garden, and I’ve learned so much from you. Like, a ton. I’m really proud of what I’ve achieved in my space this year and I’m deeply grateful to you for helping me along the way. Thanks for sharing your knowledge, guidance, positivity, and passion with all of us. I didn’t mean to write a novel, but hey, I’ve got the time! Sending you folks all my best wishes. In these weird, uncertain times, please know that you’re doing something really important.
What amazing timing lol, I purchased 2 of these today and had no clue what they were they just said Nordic on them . I came home and saw this video lol.... thank you ,I needed to know how to care for them and now I do, can't wait to see them mature like yours!!
I have two that I got last Christmas season and I just love them ! I've repotted them twice now and have them on my patio is South Florida. I just reminded myself to go out to the big box stores as this is the time of year you can get the babies for around $12 a piece. This is is a great time of year to pick up many baby spruce and arbs that can be grown into large plants as the big box stores have them for little Christmas decorations. I just ordered some tiny lightweight battery operated white twinkle lights for my Lemon Cypress ! Thanks for the tips Laura, I did not know I should be pruning them !
Thank you so much for this video . I bought one last year and didn’t succeed with it and was wondering why. Now I know why! I love them and will try again!
I really love the look of these trees. I have a great spot for one. Will be looking to see if my area gets any of these this holiday season. I am needing house plants so I hope these are pet friendly. 🌲❤️
I always learn a lot from you. I love your videos.❤️💜❤️💙💜❤️💙 My garden always looks so much better when I do as you say.😄 I love this lemon cypress. Looks really nice.
I had such a hard time keeping mine moist enough indoors. Was constantly taking it into the bathroom and misting it and watering it. We don’t even keep our house that warm in the winter. I’ll try again and repot it bigger and keep it on a pebble tray with water. Yours are so lovely I just have to try it again!
The grouping of so many together is really lovely and has gotten me thinking where I could do this inside this winter and outside next summer. The variety of stones was also interesting; what types did you use? Does that also help with keeping the soil more evenly moist or is it more decorative? Thank you for giving us such beautiful ideas for the long winter ahead.
Hi Laura. I'm so glad you addressed these plants. I work in a big box store and yesterday I noticed they had Norfolk pines. I was so sad to see they had a sign that said perennial now where I live zone 5b/6a they will never survive outside temps dipping below 35* f. I know these pines are commonly sold during the holiday season. Many people think that many evergreens are hardy but sadly some are not for the growing zone you are in. I just cringed when I saw them advertised as perennial especially in my area. Those poor trees.
Laura, I would love to see a video like this for Thanksgiving and Christmas Cactus/Cacti. I have one that is several years old and hasn’t bloomed since the first year. I would love some care tips like this!
Great idea to add a time table of topics at the beginning of the video; if someone wants to jump ahead. Not that i would. Laura you're looking great going in to your last trimester.
Great video!! ☺️In Germany the Lemon Cypress is only sold as "house plant" although the whole country is hardiness zone 7 and above. With this plant's extra need for water, you can imagine that they always dry out in homes. It's such a shame. I defied the plant tag here in Germany and planted dozens of Lemon Cypresses outside: they've been growing for years, also under snow. As long as there is enough water, they thrive. 💚😀

So happy to see you all surrounded by green. Love these so much. I appreciate all the tips. Thank you🌲🐈
Thank you so much for videos that are so pleasant and relaxing. Boy do I need that theses days!

Your sun porch look so lovely!! Thank you for the information.
Hi Laura! I think the lemon cypress is so pretty. I may have to watch for one and try it. Thank you for all of the helpful information!
It makes a great topiary. Love your plants in the sun porch.
The porch looks absolutely gorgeous
I love to see you guys do these guides!
I noticed you're sitting different Laura, I'm so sorry about the pain you're in! You are in my prayers
You said it's fun to keep them growing. It's also frugal and rewarding! Beautiful setting!

I just got a cute little lemon cypress and this video has been more than helpful. Thank you so much!

I love these...a six inch specimen I got last Christmas is now around 3 ft tall and gorgeous. Very easy to grow.
The sun porch looks so nice now with the evergreens instead of the aloes. Just beautiful! Hope they flourish in their winter home.
Just brought home my first lemon cypress. I just knew I could find a care video from my favorite gardeners.
