Oof it will not please the techies... I just ordered a full cromoly Reynolds 820 hardtail to build this winter. That's what I anticipate the most for 2024 😂
@@LaurentiusTriarius A Cro - mo hard tail is good for light enduro or singletrack .I still ride them . Chro - mag bicycles still build with steel alloy tubing from Columbus .
So true! I think sometimes people forget that there are many people with a budget for hard tails only. Hard tails are also such a useful learning point aswell
Hey all, definitely not forgotten hardtails - I'm a massive fan, and have just finished testing four for bikeradar and mbuk. It would have been great to have had one in the test, though 2023 doesn't seem to have been a vintage year for new hardtails. There is the new Merida Big.Nine, which could have gone in, but we thought the One-Twenty was more interesting, and so two versions of the Big.Nine have been tested subsequently. Which hardtails would you have liked to see?
@@robertmcfadyen9156 i am 6ft,33in my frame sise is xL and 100kg i had 27,5" too and my 29" bike what i atualy have i dont like it to ride 26" is the better rideing machin 4 me
Review of five bikes and no mention of wheel size. I watched to find out if the 27.5 wheel is going to continue into the future. Better luck next time.
"independant reviews" that slash review is just straight up the script from trek, didnt even mention all the issues people are having with the chain coming off.
We can share only our experiences from testing the Trek, which involved riding at Whistler Creekside bike park, Bike Park Wales, Cwmcarn/Risca, and the Forest of Dean in the UK. Throughout testing, photoshoots, and video shoots, our test bikes never encountered issues with chain derailment. While we've heard of a couple of cases where others faced problems, we understand these issues have been solved by correcting the lower idler setups. However, our testing didn’t reveal any chain drop issues.
The Slash tests must have been short individual sessions which don't "BRING OUT" the chain guide pulley and idler alignment concerns raised by several other rival reviewers . Only certain riding scenarios cause this problem to manifest , often after a few sequential days of use . Pivot have had this problem as well so the design isn't known for high reliability .
BikeRadar didn't have the Simplon Rapcon Pinion Pmax on their screen. The Enduro E-Mtb optional 170mm front and rear, optional 960Wh Battery beats that e-Mythique by far. Why? Can it be that BikeRadar has to adhear to their sponsors? I'm sorry but all of those other bikes are no different to what was last Year.
Thanks for the comment! Nothing to do with our 'sponsors' I can assure you - any sponsored content is marked as such. The Simplon looks cool but in all honesty, I've never seen one in the UK so it wasn't on my radar - if we can get one, we'd love to test it. The bikes we chose to test (or at least request, it doesn't always work out) are independent of who advertise with us.
Stop showing roosting corners through loose soil and spraying the soil everywhere. I know, it looks great on camera and is ok if a couple riders do it maybe, but think of the destruction of the trail when 100+ riders do it. Poor trail builders, and riders of the future that will have completely blown out trails to ride. Irresponsible to show it many times during your vid.
Trying to micromanage how people ride trails is pointless. People will ride and use trails in many different ways. And any trail with lots of use will eventually see erosion and need for maintenance. Even the "don't ride the trail wet" is about as stupid a request as anything. Why should we only use trails at certain times, in certain ways, and in certain weather? People have to get over that limited view of trail use.
Cervelo appear a Santa Cruz blur! I am thinking Santa Cruz makes the cervelo with a cervelo sticker! I rather have a Santa Cruz! For trek! I never been introduced to Trek! After what trek did to Lance Armstrong (without Lance, three would have not been a trek company, what trek is now)! No trek! Also high pivot, not for me! Vitus! Come on no E-bikes, trying to band them here in California, USA. Riders with E-bikes are not respectful on the trails. The same for Scott! Is the industry trying to keep riders overweight? 😊
Which 2024 bikes are you most looking forward to riding?

That Merida looks like what Im after
My currently updated xc hardtails i am not on the market for a new bike
Norco fluid is such a nice bike. I love the design. Nice clean lines, no BS, spot on.
Good to know that in Bikeradar's version of the future, there are no hardtails.
Thinking the same thing. I still love my hardtail though.

The Vitus bicycle review had mumbling in it at 7:30 . A bit hard to understand .
I got my cannondale scalpel 80 in my garage.
It's about 8,5 kg pure power of 2012.

My favourite is my giant trance x, with pedals and the DVO coil it's 14.161 kg

"Costing a full 5 figures". Jeez. That'll be a Peaslake dentist's bike then!

the only thing that has changed in reality is that these things cost as much as a car.

This is why trail maintenance user levees / fees , should be mandated .

It’s a completely different Bike bozo The Cervelo is better than the blur
eff ebikes
Jealous
You're going to be extremely disappointed in the future. Btw, I've had triple bypass surgery. You won't be offended if I ride an ebike, right?!
Locking up the rear brake is a bad practice. It tears up the trail and causes erosion. People should learn how to ride.
No back brakes pulled here, all natural shralping baby!
