I never ever buy KO but I got this guy and I’m in love. The metallic paint, extra diecast and ratchets along with the back plate. This is how KO should be done with vast improvement no direct copies

I normally avoid KOs but the official is running about $400 now, so I picked this up. Totally happy with it.
It’s not KO if it has die-cast
Great comparison. I finally bit the bullet on this one for the basically all the advantages you mentioned on this video - back plate, die cast legs, English voice clip, what looks like to be a more cartoon accurate coloring, tighter joints and additional ratchets and also that it's a little taller than the original. I still like the original but an improvement is an improvement, and I have noticed how the fusion cannon is a little loose on mine on the arm and so is the barrel on the back.
And a great price to boot.

I got this back in 2019 and all the reviews back then said he is painting with a scratch resistant paint, which is why I got him as all the other KO were prone to chipping.

Thanks for your review, it was a great help in my decision to get one. The height was the biggest point as it now makes it a perfect match to my DS-01's height.
I preferred this and it is a collection centerpiece. Also the alt mode aligns better making it less panelly. And the barrel is improved. Also the anti paint scratch coating is important. The first IT version included several, diff. colored, Kremzeeks. The G1 cartoon fusion cannon blast sound is a plus for me btw.

if these KO guys really want to make some money on this model, downsizing him to WFC scale would be the smart play...so many of us are sick of Megatank megatron and want Gen 1 Megs

I have both the THF-03 Dynastron and this IT-01 Emperor of Destruction (which just arrived 2 weeks ago). Both are good KOs. I’ve had the THF for over a year, but it arrived with TWO RIGHT HANDS! Frustrating, yes. That’s one of the reasons I decided to buy this IT-01. I also wanted to have a Megatron to transform since the THF looks susceptible chipping because of its metallic paint. One more reason is because I don’t think any company is going to make a better Megatron for a long time, so I decided to get an extra KO before prices creep up.
For shelf presence, the THF wins for sure because of its paint. And the face paint is better too. My only gripe is that there are a couple of loose joints in the arm pits with the THF.
This IT-01 has much better joints and will probably handle many transformations without getting too flimsy. And I was able to use his hands on my THF, so yay. The paint application of the IT-01’s thighs and face kind of bother me, but again, I’ll be using him for transformation and gun mode mostly. But he’s certainly good looking enough to have as your main Megatron. AND HE DOES HAVE AN AB CRUNCH!!! It’s just clipped in very tightly!
The IT is superior by far. I agree with everything you pointed out but what sold me was gun mode. The gaps are so clean and tight on IT megs its embarrassing when placed side by side to the hasbro. Easy win. I got the first run and im still happy.
Get the light up head upgrade. Worth every penny.
That's really great quality for a KO, all the improvements at a fraction of the price of the official.

I already owned an official when IT released theirs and the reason I bought it was the PERFECT seamless gun mode. It was perfect and horizontally straight for display! :P
Probably the best quality KO, much better than the KO from THF (which i have, the ratchet in his left shoulder died after using it a few times + the front of his canon doesn't stay collapsed)
I have the comic shaded version on pre-order. Been waiting forever. I dunno if it's ever going to be released.

I got the IT-01 KO from Aliexpress. It had yellowing on some joints, but not all. The cannon arrive with the halves separated so much that the cannon would not sit on the arm. (This was fixable) The cannon also did not play the sounds. (It was acceptable to me as I didn't care) The figure I got also could not lock in the hips so it was constantly doing the ab crunch cuz it was loose. But the worst part was, one of the legs fell apart the first time I tried to transform it back into bot mode, The screws did not fit properly. The inner "calf" piece came right off when trying to expand the lower leg. This last problem was too serious since I could not transform the figure due to the defect. Had to return it
I got mine today and it is good, but I have a loose right arm and also have an issue with the pieces under the left foot which are too loose. I only have seen one minor paint defect on the right forearm but there are several places where there are sprue marks which isn’t the best. The transformation was really smooth, I only found one panel to be too tight and overall it was really enjoyable to transform. I’m pretty happy with this KO but I might get an offical version in the future.
There is a yellowing issue with this figure but that might have been fixed with the reissue, if that happens to mine I’m definitely going to find an offical.
I've heard the gun mode goes together better as well
Mine broke during transformation, as did several others on TFW2005 - it is a fantastic figure but something to keep in mind.
That's one reason I did not transform it. Especially since it not mine
Some say IT-01 has varying QC issues, and that the copies from year to year are not consistent. Do you agree with this? Is there a production year you would recommend?
Great review. I got the 1st release of this and like the tightness and look compared to the official. But then I got the Magten for the more silvery paint and red legs, and though it’s floppy, I prefer the look for display.

I've noticed that the IT-01 Megatron doesn't have those tabs on the insides of his shins the way the official does. I wonder if there's a reason why? I actually like that, cleans it up even more.

My copy broke at the hip skirt hinge on the third transformation. Seems to have QC issues previous batches didn't have sadly.
Have you tried swapping the chest pieces for these?
Bought one after watching this video. I have to say I like it but the QA is spotty. There are some blotches on the paint and some loose joints in the arm and leg. I don't own any other versions so I don't know how it compares, but I think it's okay for $120. The most irritating is the sound from the cannon. I can barely make out anything it is saying.
Yeah, KOs always have iffy QC, hence why they are so cheap. Good throw around bot
I think a lot of people overlook the fact that it is taller. MP36 is ever so slightly shorter than MP44 or TE01, and if I wanted one to be taller, it would be Megatron. Also, how fragile are the hip skirts?
I didnt notice any issue with my hip skirts but apparently there is a widespread issue during transformation, I can't confirm

No gun mode comparison, though? On my copy of IT01, the gun mode is a bit of a mess. Some panels simply do not want to stay tabbed into place.
Ya the person I borrowed it from asked me to be careful so I decided not to transform it
I don't know if someone has said it or not yet, but from what I understand the gun sound on the KO is closer to the sound in the original show.
My copy was a little tinny sounding
@@TMReviews I get the same sort of effect on my KO MP-44. The base sound effects are different between the guns though. MP-36 Megatron has a more blast like sound, while the KO sounds kind of like a plunger in an old Scooby-Doo cartoon. That's the difference I was referencing specifically.

I didn’t pay but $100 for my KO mp-36. And that was just shortly after the official came out. 🙂 been doing just fine.
Much better quality wise and for half the price, no brainer.

Too bad you didn't compare the gun mode. If I remember correctly the KO had tighter lines while the Original was slightly gappier or not fitting properly.

There have been a bunch of people with breakages of the front hip skirts with this latest release of IT-01. ShowZ even has a warning about it. So if anyone is interested in it just be aware that you need to be careful while transforming him.
Thanks for the headsup. I ordered one last week...Kinda annoyed, as I got this to replace my KO whose skirts were so stiff, I couldn't move them at all.
How fragile are we talking? If I just wanted to pose him, would that be a big deal?

@@adrianli7559 Simply posing him should not be a problem. If you choose to transform him, you may want to have some silicon lube on hand, have some patience, be careful and take it slow.

Clearly the KO is a LOT better than the original. Why would anyone buy the Official when the KO has better materials, more audio, way more ratchets and it is way cheaper! It is a no brainer.
Several commenters have said the KO breaks when you transform. That's good enough reason right there to buy the original
@@TMan978 ah, thanks for that update. I actually don't like Megatron so I won't be purchasing either one. I prefer Soundwave and Shockwave for my Decepticon leadership team.

The fact that he's slightly taller, has stronger ratchets, has diecast and he has that back cover. plus his like 1/3 the price! its an Absolute Win!🐱🚀
Good comparison between these two. One other difference between the two is, the Infinite Transformation has a metal chain for Megatron's Flail (morning star), where as the Takara has purple plastic.
