    It’s not like it’s a new thing. City didn’t start this whole thing . Chelsea didn’t even start it. Money has always played a part in success. Man Utd struck gold when they pulled through scholes/neville/beckham etc back in the 90’s. Don’t be naive thinking that was their model. They broke the British transfer record multiple times and spent money which contributed to their success. Every team throughout history has done it. These so called ‘legacy’ clubs have their knickers in a twist that other clubs are trying to compete and the only way to do so is to spend money

    • @JW-fb4li
      @JW-fb4li 2 дня назад +1

      There is a difference in a club spending money and a club monopolizing football. They dont just are able to spend an unlimited amount of cash to buy first team players, the also splash the cash to try to buy all talented players across the world using their satellite clubs.
      With 12-15 clubs that can outspend the majority of the clubs in Europe which results in a declining level there and are able to transfer them between those satellite clubs as a 'transfer'.
      If no rules are needed to be followed it doesnt just impact the pl but all the competition around the world to different degrees.

      Feeder clubs have been around for decades - contracts and payments to lesser clubs in order to get first dibs on talented players, buy up talented players across the globe to prevent rivals getting them, send them to feeders on loan to assess whether they're actually going to make it, or in order to get a work permit. The only difference is that many parent clubs also own their feeders now.
      Arsenal got bought by wealthy owners and then splashed the cash throughout the 20s in order to turn them from perennial 2nd tier relegation fighters into the most dominant team in the 30s (with the help of a dodgy promotion to boot 💰)
      Copy, paste, find, replace the last paragraph with United and James Gibson in the 30s. Almost on the brink of bankruptcy at the bottom of Division 2, Gibson came in, splashed the cash, and they were fighting for the First Division title within a handful of seasons before WW2 hit. Once WW2 was over, the Busby era started with an all-star squad.
      The only difference with Chelsea and City is time and the fact people weren't there to see it with Arsenal and United. But it's the same story.

    Not wrong though is he. Football is not played on a fair level playing field. All those complaining about city are not realising all they have done is ignore the rules to get themselves to a point they are able to compete for titles. All clubs should be able to compete and the rules are there to stop them. I want a league where every club has a chance to compete and currently that is not the case. I want a league where it's about who has the best team and tactics and who is managed the best not just the clubs that earn the most money win everything which is what we currently have.the problem is not city it's football and how we have let it get to a point where money wins you titles. The fact they put these rules in after Newcastle were bought shows you how corrupt it is. As soon as there was an owner that could finance a club to compete at the top the other clubs voted rules in to stop it. That's not level and fair is it.

      TBF it's always been about money. Look around the other leagues. It's always been the richer teams in major metropolitan area that have been succesful. In Germany it's always been the west German clubs that are successful because that's where the money is. In Italy it's always been the northern clubs because that's where the money is. This isn't something new. For me there's only 2 fair choices. Either a hard salary cap like America where every club can spend the same amount regardless of revenue or no rules at all.

    Its all a joke, Newcastle are being held back with new rules creeping up to hold them down even more. Meanwhile the big 6 teams who have historically benefitted from there being no rules are complaining and crying and moaning because they don't want to risk another European competitor. Sick of seeing "Pundits" in favour of Chelsea's billion dollar spend or City making 80m of subs saying it woudnt be fair for Newcastle to spend the money it now has

      Unfortunately, Newcastle voted for FFP to be introduced in the PL in the first place - probably through some jealous rage that City won the lottery. What clubs like them are finding out now is that they shot themselves in the foot. And it's City who have been the one constant in trying to stop the regulations.

    like M.L.B & N.B.A. that wouldn't be the best way forward in my view.
    A salary floor & cap would be impossible to enforce globally in football.
    So logically, a luxury tax is the only possible way forward.
    how a luxury tax works is if you spend over an agreed amount the amount you over spend buy you would pay the same amount to the league then the league distributes that between

    I would rather the rich clubs spend what they want than what is happening now, and that is the FA and PGMOL and SkyBet and therefore Sky and the broadcasters are giving tremendous bias towards the Cartel 6 that were threatening to leave the Premier League. I think it has gone so far we should let the system (Capitalism) take its course. Let the big clubs go, trust me when I say they will be replaced and other clubs will progress without them.

    PL need to show some metal and show leadership, it’s clear as water - City are trying to bully them now and it’s getting ridiculous.
    Also why Villa getting involved here when no other club in the PL (there are 20 other clubs) is calling for this, City are just playing a game to bully PL.

      @Launchedparsnips and what is the other option. We don’t agree with the rule so we will damage our own club by refusing to play in the league and go play in the championship instead. Why should they have to or be expected to do that. Instead, they got on with it, dominated on the pitch and are now letting the premier league know what’s up in the court rooms. The red cartel is on its knees!

      Man City went sly mode in recent transfer window. As a neutral, they brought Savio from sister club, Doku, Akanji and Akanji are player that cost less then but had insane potential. Sold Alvarez for the most inflated price. Bought Nunes for a reduced prize compared to what Liverpool had planned. Have an academy with huge money in and out especially to clubs like Chelsea, Southampton, Ajax. It sponsors are all good in stocks Asahi, OKX, Midea, e& and Etihad all Asian investors. Plus the list of clubs they invest in which are all second team in a big city to rival the main team and usurp them. These conglomerate is not joking. So the FA should know who they’re fighting

      No it won't because they are chasing money. The plan isn't to leave the Premier League! It's to stop the opportunity for other clubs to get the European money. No opportunity so they won't try. It's not rocket science but it amazes me how many of you can't figure this one out.

    • @ivxv1
      @ivxv1 2 дня назад +3

      Because these rules don’t stop clubs from going bust or into financial difficulty like they’re supposed to do, they keep the established bigger clubs at the top. Are Newcastles trillion dollar ownership at risk of financial issues? I don’t think so.

    • @leighhudson9279
      @leighhudson9279 2 дня назад +3

      The cartel existed before city and Newcastle had any opportunity. All of this has come about because of that. City got through the door before they could bring it in to effect. But that’s exactly why Newcastle and villa can’t follow suit.

    He’s right about how revenue is distributed. It’s destroying football as a competitive sport. Compare who’s won the Premier League since 2000s with decades like 60s, 70s, 80s when clubs like Burnley, Derby, Forest, Ipswich etc could get promoted and quickly challenge for the title on the basis of good management.

    No4 PRICES.
