Hi Meeple University Community :): RUclips has enforces some ways they monetize our content. Our channel needs more subscribers so it would be awesome if you could show your support by both watching our videos and subscribing to our channel if you haven't already done so :). Monetizing our videos allows us to invest back into the channel with new equipment and our time, so a small gesture from you goes a huge way for us. Many thanks for your support!
Thank you Allan, feedback is taken :). In our newer videos, we have used better equipment, and care about this so this shouldn't be a problem anymore. Thanks for watching :)
😂 Funny you say that. I was watching this and dog tired. Totally agree the cut scene seemed way too loud and grating on me aswell. I just put it down to the fact that I was knackered.
Thank you for this brilliant video. I have this game for almost 3 years and gave up trying to play it because I couldn't understand the rulebook. Some other videos I watched didn't help a lot, but you guys just nailed it. Cheers from Portugal
Superb organization of a well communicated demonstration of the actions doable for this game. Would definitely watch through your explanation of the solo variant modes that are out there too if ever you had the time to do it.
Thanks so much Luke! Yes we have solo segment - Hen Solo, so if it's ever to happen, we may do solo playthrough, will see :). Thank you again for the kind words and sugestion
It's not at all generous, merely realistic. I made a pre-release review/rules explanation of Gaia Project and I know what it takes to make a serious effort like this while being concise and to the point.
This tutorial has helped me find out many mistakes I made on my first game, super well explained , thank you for making it. Btw I own more than 40 medium and heavy games and after just one play I dare to say this has become my favorite one, followed by GWT and On Mars. Lets see if it remains in there after more plays.
Glad we could help! Mistakes happen to everyone, all good. Hehe, yeah it's a good game this one, love GWT and on Mars too. Also if you haven't tried, check out The Gallerist and Vinhos ;)
Great video! Tomorrow is going to be my first game and I'm really excited and nervous at the same time! Hope I don't fall behind, or at least not too soon.
Thank you :). Oooh so exciting! Have played this a few times, I would say, at the start, please try be the last player rather than the first, and WATCH what other players are doing, what cards they are taking and response to that. Getting the milestones are so important, so by watching other players, you may not miss out on the important milestones! Good luck! xx Stella
@@MeepleUniversity I won! It probably won't happen again though, basically no one contended with me on prices, so I constantly sold everything I produced while the other people where marketing everything. It was a really fun game ^^. Happy New Year!
i think the script is really well done. sorry to say i had really trouble trying to focus on the content of the video over being alert enough to adjust the volume down for the section break clips that seemed to render very very loudly on this one
Not sure what went through your mind to think that the cutscene racket noise was a good idea. It keeps replaying in my head a few moments after it stopped and it drones out your voice. But once I'm back on track, I find your instructions useful
@@stogrady If it helps at all, I have one of the designers of Food Chain Magnate giving you beginners and advance tips for this game. It's one of the videos in our channel :)
That is correct. The third round is actually the earliest that there could possibly already be demand tokens present on houses at the start of the dinnertime phase (spending Round 1 hiring the marketer, and then Round 2 putting it to work)
Is there an effective way to recall how many uses of each hiring employee were not used to hire so that they can be used for saving on payroll? It seems with the time the round takes, players could well forget how many hires each card had done.
Hello! The game doesn't come with any specific way to track it, so you may need to come up with your own method, maybe use the left over drink tokens or something like that. Thanks for watching and hope you enjoy the game.
@@bwrpwr Haha thank you, yes we noticed this and hopefully rectify this in our future videos. Thank you for bearing with us about this. Have fun playing! :)
At 3:20, you mention "When placing subsequent restaurants (after the first) during the setup step, a restaurant cannot be placed such that it's entrance is on the same big tile as another player's restaurant." I cannot for the life of me find this rule anywhere in the official rule book.
Page 6, halfway down the page, left column, just above "Setting Goals" "Restaurants may not be placed in such a way that their entrance is on the same tile as the entrance of an existing restaurant."
The way the video creater has that part worded is incorrect. You can place your restaurant down on a tile that has another player's restaurant partially on the tile given that the opponent's entrance isn't on the same tile as yours.
The distance doesn't increase the actual sale price, it just determines the "effective" price to determine where the house residents want to go. (As in real life, I might go to get a nearby $8 burger rather than travel to get a $7 burger)
Hi, yes Adam is correct. The "effective price" of $12 is used only to determine where the customers go; but the price earned by the company is only $7.
Hi Diskomehl. The distance never impacts the price paid to the restaurant; only the effective price when determining where the house shops. Think of it as petrol/gas money. The "effective price" for House 8 to purple restaurant is 11 (10 + $1 in distance money), but the actual price paid is 10×2 for the garden.
Your part about restaurant placement during setup isn't correct with the way you word it in the video. If an opponent's piece is straddling two tiles, you may place your restaurant on the tile that doesn't have the entrance of an opponent's restaurant.

Never too late Josh, especially for a good game. Thank you so much for your kind words and enjoy the game!

At the 37:33 mark of the video, wouldn't the pink restaurant be a distance of 3 since the doorway of the restaurant is in the lower right corner tile?

Does it mean that there is no demand from the houses on the first round as no marketing phase has occured yet ?

36:10 sale price should be $12 not $7 due to the distance of five correct? Total sale to house number 5 would than be $36.
