I think it's because Brandon isn't really that good. He just sounds like what any average person would sound like with a good producer and a musical mind. An ever hotter take I'd say is he wouldn't even be in the band without nepotistically waiting in a different position to take the vocal position. I was stoked to hear this single because I really like Palisades but this is indistinguishable from some random band on Dreambound. If they were going to change vocalist they should've gotten someone better or reputable.

I saw them live right after Brandon took over as lead singer in Lou’s absence in 2019. I was very surprised to see only Brandon doing vocals. Not going to lie, I actually preferred him over Lou. Don’t get me wrong, Lou is great. But something about Brandon’s live performance just sounds better overall and I find myself listening for him in their songs. I’m looking forward to seeing where they go with this.
Ways To Disappear is probably my favorite Palisades song so yes I am open minded about the new change. But I hope we will get more songs like WTD. I need more melodic/melancholic songs with Brandon. i really like & miss the sounds they had on 'outcasts' and 'mind games'! The two newer albums weren't bad but nothing really stuck out to me. This new song sounds like those last two records. I miss the metalcore mixed with electronics they had. It’s unfortunate line up changes have changed their sound.

I fell in love with Pallisades when they were a support act for Sleeping With Sirens in November 2019. I saw them three times at that tour and they blew my mind. Funny that I knew absolutely nothing about them back then. Brendon stepped in as lead singer at that shows and I had no idea that he was actually the background singer. I‘m very happy for Brendon to be the official lead singer now.😊
Palisades has been my favorite band since 2015 or so, and it really speaks to the band's quality that they're always recognizable even with wildly different genres and changing members. Keep it up, dudes
@Spiritset Most of their stuff can be classified as some subset of those genres, but I think it would be hard to argue that the Mind Games and Erase The Pain albums, for example, are the same type of music!

Listen to their last album "Erase the Pain" and then the song "Aggression" and then others on the "Palisades" album before Erase the Pain..... do that. You'll see what everyone is talking about homie. This new song is decent, & I'd think its pretty good if I hadn't listened to their previous stuff which is way catchier. Nothing very catchy here to me though, but is has a good sound and I see lots of potential for some amazing AND catchy sounds they can potentially release now.

glad to see Palisades continually making good music but as someone who was a big fan due to the uniqueness of the 2 vocalists that left the band it's hard to enjoy this as much as I enjoyed their older stuff, it feels like something's missing
I've said the same thing. I just tried to think of this as a new band altogether. If they weren't named Palisades, it would be different. But you're forced to compare the old vocalist since it's still the same band. Like when Chiodos lost Craig Owens, but kept the same name. It's just nostalgia and comparisons kinda ruining the new sound.
