A point to note is that this album is a soundtrack for his documentary. Each song is linked to an episode. That may help in terms of thinking of the flow of songs, etc. All the songs are street music but different styles like house music etc. Anyways, great reaction 🫶🏾💜thanks for checking it out. Please do Jack in the Box and pleaseeee do jhope at Lollapalooza.
I don't understand why people think an album needs to be "cohesive." Who really cares, if it's a collection of absolute bops? J-hope has very diverse music taste, which means the diversity of this album is him being true to himself. THERE'S your "cohesiveness." "I feel like I was in a different place at different times." Yep. Exactly. The album is an OST for a documentary that travels the globe in search of varied dance styles. Of course the album is going to match that goal with dance music to match the dance styles being studied/featured, and music that matches the cities visited as well.
"what if" was a song from his previous album Jack in the box, but with some vocals from Jinbo :) oh, and NEURON was the dance crew J-Hope joined when he is about 10 years old, they are still active, and based on Gwangju, South Korea (J Hope hometown). so this is a tribute for them
Thanks for your reactions guys . I wanted to point out that Hope on the street Vol1 is actually a soundtrack to his documentary’s on Amazon Prime then each song makes sense because each song is a style of dancing etc. pop lock .. ❤
I dont know is my fav song on the album. To me, the vocals go well really well together, and it's super catchy, like i sing the chorus at random times.
The whole point of the album is that it’s a Soundtrack for his Amazon Prime Video documentary about his reconnection with dance. Each song reflects a different genre of street dance that he has his roots in. It’s a really amazing documentary series, and I highly recommend it
I really liked your edition style on these videos! And your honesty 🎉 as other comments have said this was a soundtrack for his documentary where he explored different dance styles and the song fits that. Personally I loved how versatile and experimental he got! Seeing a new side of him who i love so much, was wonderful. Specially since this was a gift he prepared before going to serve the military 😢. I think you would like his previous projects. JACK IN THE BOX and HOPE WORLD. The song what if is from JitB! I would love to see your thoughts on the whole work and the lyrics. Thank you for the video!!
I think you would like Jack in the Box project I also think you would understand the album when taken in context with the docuseries Hope on the Street (which is sooo good!)
As people who love dance I think you would really enjoy the docu series where J-hope is in different cities round the world and gets together with a famous street dancer from each place and this EP is the soundtrack they dance to. In the US it was Link in New York. What If is from his jack in the Box album remixed for the dancing on the Hope on the Street series on Amazon Prime
Y’all were extra funny this review. I agree with Caaden, the first track and the last two tracks had a similar boom bap 90s hip hop sound, the 2nd & 3rd had a funk/pop sound, and the 4th one (my favorite) had a pop/house sound. It would’ve been cool if the tracks were a little more cohesive. Also, the song you’re thinking of is Shimmy Shimmy Ya by ODB. Nice review ✌🏾.
😅 thank you. glad that it wasnt just me deff loved the songs still though you but you explained it perfectly - caaden also thanks for figuring out the that was odb it was really bothering us. appreciate you always watching and commenting 🦊🦊✌🏾
It’s okay. People can feel what they want. They are reacting and sharing their honest opinion and also they did it respectfully. The thing is that these are gp listening without knowing any of the background so we can’t really expect them to truly understand.
What's up with the mic of the one in the white jacket? We could hardly hear what he was saying, it's a shame. Anyway, as others said, each song represents an episode in the docuseries, which explores different types of street dances, hence the different styles and genres. j-hope did a great job showcasing his range and versatility in this soundtrack!
“What” If is a song from his album Jack in the Box, but here it’s a remix. The album is a soundtrack of his documentary Hope on The Street, so each song has a different rhythm of street dancing

Yh. I think they're missing the point that it's a soundtrack album. It flows perfectly with thus documentary.
Totally 💯

This EP is actually an OST for a documentary called Hope on the Street! The songs match a genre of dance that are presented per episode.
