I buy gold, silver, bitcoin and ethereum on a dollar cost average schedule and then buy more as price and interest allow. If you want to know more about buying gold coins, that is my primary focus here. I talk a bit about mining stocks and other equities as well. Cheers!
Disclaimers: I am not a financial planner. I'm just a guy on the internet, talking about precious metals. This is for entertainment only. Who isn't entertained looking at gold coins? As an Amazon Associate I may earn commissions from qualifying purchases. Any potential compensation I earn will not negatively affect your purchase. Thank you!
I just started buying gold to store wealth and let me tell you, you seem to be the ONLY stacker/RUclipsr who actually talks on the issues with liquidating our savings! Thanks, 2 is 1. There’s a lot of new guys out here who don’t yet know that gold, isn’t just gold lol.
The biggest mistakes are easily avoided. I just happen to have already made those mistakes!
I’ve been slowly converting some of my 6-month emergency fund over to physical gold. And thanks to your advice, I’m keeping it to one kind of coin only. I’ll probably keep a couple of months in fiat, but I’m tired of seeing my emergency fund shrink (in purchasing power) every year!
I appreciate your Objective videos. You don’t have wild flair or Clickbait titles I know when you post a video it will be clear concise and no nonsense .
I appreciate you watching!
Recently found your channel and I’ve been inspired to start stacking. Just received my first piece in the mail. A 1oz gold maple. Super pumped! Keep up the good work
Nice! I love Maples! 🤩
I started buying gold in my 20's because I always spent my savings on impulse, but with gold, I was less likely to go through the effort. I still have every coin I ever bought.
That's fantastic!
This! Solid savings!
I haven’t been stacking long but just buying , Sovereigns and Britannia’s. Live in the U.K. so this makes sense to me. Thanks for all your help on my journey👍.
Greta options. I wish our local coins were acGT exempt like yours. Cheers!
Let's buy physical silver 🥈 and gold 🥇 folks 😃
You have the best videos to give the viewers a really good perspective I always have a smile on my face, take something from a different perspective, or learn something new.
That's great. Thank you!
GOLD eagles fastest liquid cash.
Those double dragons 🐉😍👌 are "Down to my last few ounces" gold. The most beautiful coins are the last coins to unload.
Also the coins you bought for the lowest prices can be sold first to lock in the profit.
Yeah, you nailed it!
Keeping it simple sounds like a good plan great video keep them coming
Thanks!
Having both physical gold and silver complement each other: Silver works best in a emergency and bartering and gold preserve our wealth. Lynnette Zang came up with that explanation. I really like your explanation and comparison selling gold to crypto
I can see the idea of silver as being "fractional gold" or transactional gold, but the premiums on it are crazy right now!
@@2is1gold Yeah I see your point. I found that silver britannia, maples allow for a nice middle ground because the premiums are too crazy
I’m taking a pause on stacking until the premiums come down a little, (for better or worse)
My stack is silver and gold eagles with a few buffalos in the mix.
Also have a sack of constitutional coins collected over the years from change.
I’m having to work way harder to find my top choices for reasonable premiums. Cheers!
You’re definitely spot on recommending people buy gold that is easy to sell. I’m staying with Buffaloes and the Maples just because of the region I’m in prefers 24k gold. Anyhow, great theme and contents as usual. 👍
Thank you!!
Just rewatched this. Still good.
Thanks!
I love your thought process. I’m working on a small tube of 1/10 AGE. Hoping to finish it by the end of the year!
That’s a great goal! ✊
1/10 eagles can be hard to find, nowadays.
GOOD LUCK, JINKS.
Two wrongs don't make a right. But 3 lefts do..
Very true!! 😄
I also gave the double dragon gold coins from the Perth mint. They are truly beautiful!
Definitely fun coins!
Man i wish i had found your channel sooner! My last Eagle purchase put me at over a tube and having a full tube of eagles is more comforting than 2 of 15 different premium limited collectibles
Eagles are so great. Not my favorite to look at, but no question that they're my favorite coin!
Gold is gold.
Someone has to stir the pot.
Great video I enjoy your content.
Ha!
The dragon Phoenix is my favorite of that Perth series!
It's very cool. The Tiger is great too! 🤩
Some great correlations and lessons, right on!
Thanks! ✊
Recently found your videos and I love your content! You are on of the most level headed and logical stackers on RUclips! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences!
Hey, thanks! I appreciate that!
I have a bunch of different gold coins 😢 from proof Krugerrands, to Britannia’s to Maples (and special edition ones)... it will definitely be a little harder to sell vs one type. I have sold a few of my Korean gold though and will continue to simplify my stack to focus on US gold (albeit still special edition ones) 😅
I would kill for a 200 Won Horse
Yeah, you have some great stuff. So great, the local coin shops might not even appreciate the greatness! 😄
Thanks for your time and thoughts...always well put! Stay safe and stack on!
Thank you! You too! ✊
I appreciate your knowledge and level headed approach.
Thanks!
Obviously this video is 2 years old, but ledger allows you to sell ETH and BTC in the ledger live app. Cardano, because I stake, you have to use a hot wallet.. however, a lot of those are allowing you to swap for stables.
Great video...Im new to gold and this is kinda making me rethink my goals..I was buying g 1/10 and 1/4 oz and heading toward the variety route but might pick 3 and keep stacking those..I have maple leafs...type 2 American eagles and Britannia. Thanks for the awesome content..Happy New Years.
Thank you! I definitely think sticking to a few options makes everything easier. Cheers!
Gold is gold, man...
On the real: Really appreciate your videos and your worldview. If it’s all doom and gloom, there’s another kind of exit plan. Investing and saving should be fun as well as useful. Invest in what you know, what you like and what works. If we’re all going to hell, might as well have fun along the way. Cheers 🍻
Completely. All doom and gloom makes Jack a dull boy. ✊
Gold is the wrong metal for true doom and gloom. Lead, copper, and brass are the go to metals for that. Gold is for bad times that aren't the end of the world.
I just love watching your videos you are always spot on keep up the awesome work!
I really appreciate that! Thank you!
Great video and great topic. I agree these channels tell you to buy gold but they don't tell you what the best is and how you will sell it. I dont really know how exactly I will sell my gold and silver but fortunately I have ordered stuff that I think is well known.
That takes so much stress out of it!
I finally got my gold double dragon 2 days ago 🤩🐉
Nice!!
Was just looking at various bullion dealers in the UK .. very limited as to what you can get , but Eagles , Buffalo's and Maples have a very high premium.... I would think even more than you'd expect in the U.S .. haven't seen any Perth / Chinese style coins like you have , which is a shame coz their impressive ...
Good content , keep up the good work..
Thank you! The Royal Mint has great options too, and they’re CGT exempt for you. Cheers!
Isn't there any gold Britannia's available near you?
@@thecars570 Yes ... loads , but I would like to mix it up ... not just about bullion ..
Gold is indeed gold. However, not every form of gold is treated equally upon sell.
And cars are cars. The sentiment when people say it around here is that a Panda or a Ducat is the same as an Eagle, which we both know is not true.
@@2is1gold yep. You can not make them understand that. They want to buy the designer stuff, but that crap is a bad idea. Stick with what is in demand and most liquid. Don't become a collector if you can help it.
@@thinkforyourself9311 i ride the fine line between collecting and stacking... strictly stick to 1oz ages or $20 double eagles ... its about weight its hard not to get caught up in slabbed coins though
After I bought my first gold eagle I feel like I'll stick to only eagles just pre ordered that new type 2 design eagle. Gold eagles are like water in terms of liquidity.
Completely agree!
premiums on fractionals are just getting out of hand... 1/10 age are going for over $250... 1/4 age over $550... nuts
Yeah, it’s crazy right now!
Just got a price of 275.00 today.
Most of my gold is either Eagles or Maples for that reason. In my area pre 33 gold is in pretty high demand too so I have a fair bit of that (also that's what I collect so those would be the last coins I'd sell). I never really thought about selling gold as risky, but it certainly can be stressful if you buy the wrong thing. Thanks as always, sir.
Those are great options! Thanks for watching!
Great insight, as always. You recently coached me with great advice(one on one) on my question on the Panda vs Krugerrand, and I took your advice. You’re a godsend to those of us new to this market. Thank you for all you do and for your honesty and the education you provide to new stackers👍
Thanks for the note. Happy to hear it!
I’ve bought different kinds of coins in the past, just to be able to enjoy the variety. But this video is forcing me to consider the advantages of buying less variety in order to facilitate selling when the need arises.
I went through a story arc to get to the idea of fewer, nicer things! 😄
Thank you for the information and ideas for liquidation...as usual great video!!
Thanks for watching!
Good use full information.
Thanks!
It's interesting that people who push precious metals like to point to Venezuela as a modern case for hyperinflation. But they fault to recognize that their currency is hyperinflated, but the American dollar is still there and is the preferred currency. So that situation doesn't translate as a 1:1 for what can happen to the American dollar. If the American dollar is to fail or go into hyperinflation, it'd be a worldwide issue as the backing for most of the world's currency.
Also, if that were to actually happen, people won't go back to trading goods for metals, they'll trade goods for goods, that's why in all dystopian future stories, money is useless without a stable society and government to make give it value.
I'm buying to store my value in a physical savings. I have more in precious metals than I've ever had in a savings account. And it's strange but true. With the way banks are set, my savings is just a number that they get to loan out multiple times. But with my metals, I own it, and the value perseveres and generates wealth for me, not for the banks and whoever they loan to.
Yep. The SFTF channels like to pick and choose fantasies.
I was traveling this week too... without my cold wallet! Still don't know if that was good or bad. Time will tell, but I'm no Crypto bull.
Yeah, time will tell. I had already decided not to sell, but it’s been a bad week for the stuff to say the least!
@@2is1gold I like the Matic project, and it was holding out... until today!
My man 2 is 1 always talking sense!
✊
I agree mostly with what you’re saying. It’s 100% practical. From a liquidity standpoint, I’d have zero rebuttal. The only problem I personally have is that I hate monogamy with my metals. ! I love them all. Lol. I do really like the idea of only stacking (for example) three to five types of coins though.
That’s what I’m trying to do. Five is reasonable. Three would be tough! ✊
Great "down to earth" video, thanks :)
Thanks for watching!
I’ve been stacking Gold Britannia’s since 2014. Apart from the Queen’s Beasts series they are all the same with yearly variations. They do look amazing when I occasionally get them all together and so easy to sell if needed. Not that I have ever sold 🙂
Great looking coins!
Yes been there, thx for sharing 👍 great video
Thanks for watching! ✊
YOU have the limited strike Perth stuff!! I only have the Dragon...
Bravo!
They’re fun coins!
Never took the doom and gloom too seriously but life happens. Fires, earthquakes, hurricanes, Russian hackers shutting down pipelines - these feel like the more real risks. I'm barely at the 2oz mark but definitely feel safer with that than the equivalent in the bank. Definitely important to keep a little cash too.
Agreed. Multiple baskets. Cheers!
Hi, I tend to keep to British coins, sovereigns,Britannias and Queens Beasts just in case there,s an event. You never know these days it,s terrible here in Britain the rules and laws seem to change from week to week since this Flu came along.Thank you for the video. Shane
That’s good, solid planning!
Sound advice especially for the new stackers 👍
Thanks!
I used to play double dragon in the arcade's year's ago.😆
Ha! Me too. We’re dating ourselves! 🤜
My medium term goal is to finish off a tube of 1/4 eagles and a tube of 1/10th eagles. I don't think i'll swap them out though. After that I may try to re-arrange things into starting a 1oz tube. Buffalos or Maples to follow that if I'm still kicking at that point :)
Fun goals. Good luck!
I enjoy listening to your opinions
Appreciate you doing it!
I agree to get stuff that can be easily sold around here if need be for a opportunity. Working on my gold and silver stacks as well, slowly lol.
Safe travels! When you get back I’d like to try and get a 2 is 1 sticker from you please sir! Me and a few coworkers listen to you all the time!
Thanks Kevin! I’m out of those stickers right now, but send an email to 2is1gold at gmail dot com, and I’ll make a note. Thanks!
I do mix up my metals for that reason. It allows me to have many outlets to unload my collection. Only so much can be bought by a dealer. So diversify my stack and knowing many people helps the chance to sell if ever needed
Do you group or buy one-off (random)?
@@2is1gold I Do and those are the tough ones to sell, but those i REALLY enjoy to Hold indefinitely
Provident Metals has a guarantee buyback program and they pay over spot. Very simple process.
👍
This is the best metal channel on youtube hands down. There is nothing that compares to this honesty and not full of the stupid paranoid bunker preppers garbage. Come to Reddit more too. We like talking to you.
Thanks, Paul! I need to get more in the habit. My posts were being blocked there for a while, so I faded out! 😄
I have settled myself on building tubes of BU non-restrike Swiss 20 francs during the premium crunch. Folks like the LMU’s because of the variety, but I’m thinking if I stick to one particular version it will be an easier sale. If I was an LCS I would appreciate seeing 20 of the same thing be it eagles, buffalos or my sweet sweet Swiss miss 🙂
In most situations, similarity will make it easier to sell in bulk. The obvious outlier would be coins that aren't popular. Having 20 Homer Simpson coins wouldn't be easier to sell! 😅
Suggested topics for discussion: (1) Gold Confiscation (2) Sales tax on Gold [in some jurisdictions] (3) Hedging against upcoming Fed Coin (4) Speculation on rise in Platinum price for later conversion to Gold 🤔
Good ideas. Thanks!
Good your using capsules
This is an area that I sorely lack. I know I'm gonna have a tough time when it comes to selling gold or silver coins.
Perhaps not, peer to peer will probably work. For example I will buy oddball gold if I can get it for close to spot.
Because you know so much about gold, you’ll be able to get it done faster than most. ✊
This is one of your best videos!!
Thanks! I was afraid I wasn’t making sense. Hard to think on the road.
A friend of mine asked me today, 30k saved how much should be in gold and silver. I replied 5% . Then I shared 2 of your videos with her. RISK AND BEST PRICE. Also some videos interviews from lyn Alden. A link from find bullion prices. Info on the gold silver ratio. The real risk is not getting of X.
Sounds great!
Love ur show, man. Appreciate the gold coverage although, would like to c a show on silver stacking , or ur thoughts on silver. Thanks !
Thanks! Premiums are keeping me out of the silver game right now. Hoping to see that come down!
Thanks! I’ve been out of the silver game for a while because of premiums, but I’m watching/waiting. ✊
Reviewing one's asset allocation and adjusting is what smart money people do. Same w/debts and forward looking projections ....hopefully based on some reasonable reality ;-) The thing with PMs is their weight. Seriously. $100k USD in silver would tip the scales at over 210 lbs packaged and ready to move. And that is at today's prices....At $18/oz it would be over 400 lbs! For a measly hundred K. Yikes! Gimme a Nano S and I'll deal with the weight time ;-) Rimshot! TY! I'll be here all night, try the veal.
Ha! ✊
I think it is also to diversify with different weights of coins. Not so much the tenth ounce but the quarter and halves. May not need the money of a full ounce. Especially for people who does not keep some money on hand. Those that do not believe in an emergency fund. That listen and all they buy is precious metals and ammo.....
For sure. I have cash savings to burn before I’d ever get to gold, so I’m less concerned. But it’s a good point!
Exactly good answer"Never Enough", get gold and silver while you can. Obviously sell it when it's over 3000.
Never enough is the more fun answer!
Hey 2 is 1 I love your videos, you have a lot of great topics and info, much wisdom on gold...Are you familiar with Goldbacks?
Thanks! I'm familiar with them, but I don't have any.
The fancier the coin, the harder it is to sell. Unless you don't mind getting 98% of spot or less for it.
Unless you take it to eBay - I'm learning that if you like fancy coins, buy two, take one to eBay and lower your cost. Better yet, buy 3, two for eBay
@@unreviewed you mean FeeBay? You will have to give FeeBay and PayPal a total of 14% of the sell and let us not forget shipping fees and packaging cost. Then, you have to pray the package makes it without getting stolen or lost. Then, you must hope that the buyer doesn't claim that he or she didn't receive the coin. Then, you lose everything. No thank you. I'll stick with American Gold Eagles. I have already been down the FeeBay path. Never again.
@@thinkforyourself9311. ok, but other than that ;-)
@@unreviewed another problem with FeeBay is when you're trying to sell a fancy coin and APMEX is also selling the same fancy coin for less than you can afford to sell it at. I've had that happen often.
@@thinkforyourself9311 I guess, sure. But it is when APMEX is sold out the fancy coin, that's why you turn to "FeeBay", lol.
Well I did it!!! Bought my first Buffalo's yesterday. They look good but not like what you have, probably because I didn't order from the mint. Do you have a video showing how to properly clean and possible polish? Thanks you for the Encouragement.!
And I understand why you might be drawn to the Buffalo vs and Eagle.. its a Gorgeous coin. 👍
Congrats! Be very careful cleaning it. Polish would damage the coin. The only way I'll ever clean a gold coin is to fill a plastic bowl with hot water and mild dish soap. I let the coin soak then rinse it off and let it air dry. Buffalos have a matte finish, so only the proof coins have the mirror finish regardless of cleaning. That 'cleaning' worked very well on two of my coins that I'm guessing came from a smoker's home. Good luck!
@@2is1gold paid 50 over, how much more are proofs? And I like paying $$$ so I guess that would be a problem? Seeing you have to prove 😉 who you are to order from the mint.. hope you understand my meaning
Myths & Legends series are mostly limited to a mintage of 5000 or less - will be interesting to see if they command a premium in a frenzied market.
Would love to hear your thoughts and strategies around a possible a future government confiscation and or excise duty on gold
I don't see any likely scenario where gold is confiscated, but I guess the series coins are technically collectibles.
Having a home and some Gold takes the edge off crypto and the stock market dives ... 😎
Absolutely!
that grimsmo norseman gets me everytime
theres been a hell of a run at the shops locally. i ended up ordering from apmex for some stuff i wanted so i super over paid.
i want another 1oz lady fortuna but missed out a few times. hopefully soon
i want to get the una and the lion 1oz bar as well. ordered the silver one for HIGH premium
i agree on the low risk bulk, then some of the fun ones
Low risk stack definitely makes the fun stuff easier!

Gold fever can get anyone got me for minute but chart looks good. Great video I think we people can get caught up and not have exit plan. Collector for kids but stacking with exit plan as well. Brian Shannon says it best never fall in love with assets you can always buy them back. Hope last part of that saying holds true
I think you’d be able to buy back. Cheers!
Awesome, love the balance between crypto and gold. The same but different.
Thanks!
Thank you for the video. This is what I am up to: I am selling most of my proof gold eagles because what I am getting over melt is too good to pass up. I'm still holding on to everything else. Out.
That’s great! 🤑
You are correct, of course, but it bugs me that “gold is gold” is somewhat untrue. This ruins gold as money. It’s fungibility suffers because there’s so many undesirable forms.
Yeah, the retail popularity factor adds a level.
you inspired me a while back to let go of some of my rando gold coins. dont cry goldbugs, the money went to crypto ;) best thing i've done with PMs so far. now, i just buy buffalos. boring but efficient :)
A little boring but definitely efficient! ✊
Great video
Thank you!
In US can you purchase gold or silver using cryptocurrency?
Yep. Several online dealers allow the option.
where did you get the air tight capsule for the canadian leaf 1 oz? I have a capsule but its with the foam insert...I cant find a capsule that is clear so that itll match my other Buffalo coins in its capsule.
I use these: amzn.to/3pYmLoO
The Gubmint puts things in our water 🌊
I have only sold one or two ounces at a time, but I have never really had a problem with doing so. I have a wide variety of different types. I am not sure I quite understand. Is the point of this to buy only gov't issue gold in large quantities? If I have an ounce of gold, we all know what its spot price is. To me, that is your negotiating point. Of course AE's get the premium, but if you are getting taken at coin dealer shop...you probably need to find another person to do business with.
Will you be purchasing the new design (Type 2) Gold Eagle on presale? IMO, the (Type 2) Silver Eagle reverse is aesthetically superior. Great channel, thanks for the content.
I’ll be buying for sure, but since they aren’t out until July 8th, I’m not ready to lock in the purchase price. I’m planning to wait to see if there’s a price drop. Cheers!
In the US the gold eagle is the most popular. Not a bad idea to stick with that coin. I buy Kruggerands because that is what is available where I live. I personally don't like the coin design. The Kruggerand is just a unit of measure. 1 troy oz of gold packaged in a round and the coin has a global reputation as an honest unit of measure. The Kruggerand is not a collectable coin. And, not meant to be. I would say that in the US the Kruggerand is not a good choice if you need quick liquidity. Americans are ignorant when it comes to gold and hard assets in general. Art bars and coins don't really add much value to a troy oz of gold. Americans haven't figured this out yet. They will though later and they will gladly buy a Kruggerand when push comes to shove. Kruggerands are top notch in reality.
I agree on Krugerrands. Americans in general might not be familiar with them, but coin shop owners sure are!
Glen you're one of the smartest guys in the community. Too bad you don't have any content on RUclips. I think you would be a valuable asset to the community.
What do you think about the Canadian Polar Bears? I got one of them from a "random" coin purchase.
I know one of my coin shops gives the same for the Canadian wilderness coins as they do for the Maple Leafs. They’re pretty well known.
logical
2 is 1's experiences are applicable to all.
Yet another outstanding video. When it comes to precious metals, it’s so important to think about purpose before buying. If you’re looking for a store of wealth, look at US Eagles or Canadian Maple Leafs.
If you’re looking at collecting or keeping coins for fun, go for what you like, but know it’s so difficult to sell some of these.
Once again, I just love your videos - your collection is outstanding and the video-work spotlights your gorgeous coins.
Thanks, again!
Thanks!
Thank you!
I do find it amusing when people talk about wanting gold because of economic collapse. Sorry, if it really got that bad, I might be reaching for my rifle and ammo cans before my gold.
Yeah. There would be other things to scramble for. But anything short of a "collapse" is different. Having a stable asset would be huge.
Well lead and copper in a strategic portfolio are metals that can be used for negotiation.
Firearms and ammo are certainly a good investment for tough times. I run a gun store, so 90% of my net worth is wrapped up in firearms. Its kinda funny, this industry is very hard to make money in 80% of the time, until anything bad happens. Threats of war? Everyone rushes to buy guns. Global pandemic breaks out, I have a line at the door. Race riots, ammo flies off the shelf. First thing people do when shit really gets bad is figure out how theyre gonna not be the low man on the totem poll. God forbid, if there were ever another civil war in this country, it would be an absolute meat grinder out there.
Good stuff.😉
Thanks Jen! 👋
What do you think of Mexican pesos, the older stuff, is it liquid enough?
It should be. I'd make a quick call to a local coin shop.
I’m doing 10 of each right now. Should I do 20 or stick with my plan of 10 oz ,then move on to the next?
Ten of each works just fine!
If you buy 20 you get full tubes
HOLA, DOS. DOS "EL ANGELS" ES MAS MEJOR. ESPECIALMENTE DOS CENTENARIOS. *TYU*
Mucho bueno!
After a base of Eagles Buffalos and Maples I've recently been buying pre-33 just because I love history. Are they harder to sell years later?
I’ve never been to a US coin shop that doesn’t deal in pre-33. They all buy!
Easy to sell but you must keep notes on how much you paid for each coin and what the spot price was at the time so you will know if you are being offered a fair amount. Be prepared to walk away, if necessary. My collectible coins would be the last I would ever sell.
2 is 1 are you the new John Wick
Ha. Dime store version!
My first experience with an lcs: the guy tried giving me the same price for my platinum queens beast, & bars 🤣😵🤣 totally tuned me off from going to a store for awhile actually
Yeah, they tend to be blind to numismatics.
Good content
Thanks!
I don't buy gold or silver because I'm worried the world is going to collapse, rather because I'm optimistic about the future and expect it to continue to grow in value. If the whole system were to break down I don't really believe that PM's would be worth much.
I agree.
Yep. I don't know why channels push that connection so hard. It's a fun but imaginary situation.
