Can't fault my D421 - BR blue / full yellow ends - best livery for me. Weight, traction, detailing and performance are superb. One of Hornby's best. I love the cooling fan as well unlike some.

18 Preserved now :) Nice video. We have a fair few of them on our layout (around 40 i'd guess)

Being a Wesern fan I have always liked the class 50 and I have alot of memories of them on the Paddington - Plymouth trains and the Liverpool - Penzance trains. The version of the loco like was the unrefubished namers. Like my kings I have three of them.

You've brought out the songster in me. Here's my song:
Diesels are for non-believers, electricity is wrong.
Steam has got the power that will pull us along.
There's a light at the end of the tunnel,
The inside might be as black as the night,
But at the end of the tunnel there's a light.
Soon the pistons will be humming,
Steam has got a second coming.
    We see that distant gleam
    That tells us it's steam.
At the end of the tunnel there's a light,
    We call it Starlight.
It's actually a Starlight Express Song. Starlight Express is a musical story created by Andrew Lloyd Webber. A shy steam engine named Rusty proves he's just as good as a diesel, by winning the last race. His carriage Pearl at first thought he was off his head, but soon learned that those who are wise know how to keep those who boast at bay. Greaseball and Electra found themselves losing out in disgrace. Sadly, Starlight Express is no longer being shown in the theatre, where its steamy career began. I have the story on CD Album in two versions. While it's indeed sad to learn the story has gone forever, I can relive the wonderful songs of this long-since forgotten musical. It would be good if the story could be revived. RIP Starlight Express.
