I’m seeing some people in the comments trying to falsify Iranian history by portraying Nader Shah and other Iranian rulers as foreign due to their ethnicity, specifically because they were not Persian. However, it's important to understand that Iran has always been a multi-ethnic state, a legacy dating back to the Achaemenid Empire, which spanned from Europe and North Africa to Central and South Asia. Notably, even some Achaemenid kings were not of purely Persian descent, as they may have had Median or Babylonian lineage through their maternal side. Today, Iran remains a diverse nation, home to various ethnic groups including Turks, Persians, Kurds, Baloch, Armenians, Georgians, and so on. This diversity is why we are called Iran and not Persia, unlike some countries that are named after a single ethnicity despite being home to many others. In contrast, Iran belongs to all its people, not just one ethnic group. Attempts to depict Nader Shah or other Iranian rulers as foreign are misguided; they fought for the state of Iran and crowned themselves as Shahanshah-i-Iran, reflecting their commitment to the entire nation. Resolutely? The commander of the Ottomans in the battle was Topal Pasha, do you know what happened to him a month later? Nader quickly gathered an army and defeated Topal Pasha's army of 100,000 in the Battle of Agh Darband and killed him.

Nadir idolised the legendary Central Asian conquerors Genghis Khan and Emir Timur and imitated their military prowess and especially later in his reign - their cruelty. Nadir's victories briefly made him the Middle East's most powerful sovereign, but his military spending had a ruinous effect on the economy. This last great Asian military conqueror built a huge empire-stretching from the Indus in what is now Pakistan to the Caucasus mountains in the north, to India in the east-but his reign was marked by remarkable cruelty.

Another great video y'all! Persia is really interesting, specially during antiquity, i just wish we had more sources on its history and battles

Finally, thank you so much for making this video, Nader is one the most underrated generals in the history
please make a video about The Battle of Yeghevārd which i think is before the events of this video, but i promise this battle will make you exited.
During his reign, the Ottomans withdrew from western Iran ,the Russians from the Caucasus and northern Iran, and the Afghans from eastern Iran. After the conquest of India, he intended to build a fleet in the Black Sea to conquer Crimea from the Tatars..and intended to conquer Astrakhan from Russia by land and sea
Ottomans decisively beat him in the battle of Samerra. He narrowly escaped death.
Resolutely? The commander of the Ottomans in the battle was Topal Pasha, do you know what happened to him a month later? Nader quickly gathered an army and defeated Topal Pasha's army of 100,000 in the Battle of Agh Darband and killed him.
@@Poiyti It was a surprise winter attack and Topal Osman Pasha was ill and his army was not in a state of readiness
@@Poiyti Ottoman Empire was in war in Europe too. Veteran troops and Janissaries transferred to Austrian border. Nader could not achieve any results from that victory. Literally zero. He could not come that close to capturing Baghdad again. Topal Osman Pasha was martyred in the battle, but Nader recognized his brlliance and returned his body to the Ottomans with full honors. However, Topal Osman Pasha's victory changed history. 10 years later, Nader laid siege to Mosul and was disgraced there too.

well Bonaparte was born 31 years after this battle. And from what I've read Bonaparte had great admiration for Nader and studied his moves and tactics as did the world where Nader Shah's moves and escapades were covered and reported in as far places as the contemporary Colonial America! So saying Napoleon of Iran is like referring to Diego Maradona as Ronaldo of Argentina.
To make the thing understanding to westerners, they call Nader as Napoleon of Iran to show his influence. To easterners, Napoleon may be called Nader Shah of France
Napoleon Bonaparte is reputed to have observed the following of Nader Shah's reign: “Nader was a great warrior but lacked the foresight to think of the present state and the future of his country.”

We in India had a Napoleon too by the name of Samudragupta. If I remember correctly, he fought over 60 battles and lost none

Nadir Shah is not acknowledged and celebrated like other notable generals but he was also a formidable general and ruler of his time
In Persian culture it was so important that the king shows his tribe(generation, Father and mother and their social class) and if the king was from a good family he would accepted from other group of Iranians
In all the inscriptions, kings of Iran introduce their ancestors and lineage in first paragraph
But *"Nader was a shepherd! From poor family."*
Other groups were waiting at the coronation to mock Nader when he wanted to introduce his parentage and lineage andmake his kingship weak, so he introduced himself:

1st, I was shocked when you covered Nader Shah, as he is hugely underrated in the YT history community; nobody talks about him. but you made 2 Mistakes in this video: 1. Why would you waste Nader Shah's story like this? you could have made it into a pretty serious series from his beginning to end; nobody has done it before. he was a magical man 2. Please don't refer to Iran as Persia; Nader himself called it Iran (research his coins. It reads "Nader Of Iran," not "Nader of Persia." Only Western people call it Persia; even in Sassanian times, it was called Iran. It means the Aryan people or the land of the Aryans. but anyhow, thanks to HistoryMarche.
name iran was given to this country in 1935 to claim ( persians, afghans, tajiks, kurds, balochs, azeris ) under iranian dominion, basically wanting the land of modern afghanistan and tajikistan, in fact afghanistan is the real iran with real iranic people and all 12 mentioned lands in avesta, zoaraster was a bactrian ( Afghan ) from bactria ( Balkh )
@@najibullahghafori3739 The real Iran is all of the cultural and ethnic groups that are now spread all around the south west Asian region.
Most likely, you're Afghan and are defending the history of your country, so to speak; But know that the name of Iran, in the form of "Iranshahr" was discovered in Sassanid inscriptions before Islam, and from that date onwards, the name of Iran is clearly mentioned in all inscriptions, buildings, coins, and contracts.
In fact, it's better to name the Aryan countries as follows: "Azerbaijan = North Iran", "Iran and Turkish , Iraqi and Syrian Kurdistan, = West Iran", "Afghanistan, Tajikistan, the Tajik regions of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, Pakistan = east Iran".🦁
