I was gratified to see Lauren Bacall with "Bogie" and their young son "To have and have not" it was clear to me the chemistry between her and Humphrey Bogart. she possess a subtle beauty, a rare quality
I once saw a close-up photo in brilliant colour, of her, just head and shoulders, and that photo made me an instant admirer. She has the most beautiful eyes, Just captivating.
I always likes McMurray in his comedies, but I couldn't stand him in his Hard boiled tough guy roles, because he always came across to me as the kind of "Tough Guy" who would fold up like a house of cards if anyone slapped him.
Both comments exactly fit the same impression I have of him, as an actor, also ! Funny, I've never thought of that since the last time I saw a movie/t.v.show with him in it. But, at that time also... it was exactly the same impression. As a comedy actor, his WTH expression was priceless and unique. But, also too true was the fact I could never believe him as the "tough guy"... for precisely the same reasons mentioned here. With the first comedy-like, stunned expression - I was compelled to watch more. But with the faux-tough guy facade, I felt more like turning away. It just "didn't fit". Same with "Beetlejuice" (Michael Keaton) playing Batman. That, imo, was a TOTAL miscasting. Why ?? Is up for speculation. Jack Nicholson, was chosen to play the Joker in that particular movie. He was even nominated for an Academy Award, I believe. But, that was sooooooooo totally, wrong on a gut level. Jack, didn't act. He just played "Jack". He was too old for the part, as well... and, not NEARLY crazy enough, as Michael had been in Beetlejuice. To me, Jack, should have never been there to begin with... Michael Keaton, would have made the ULTIMATE Joker-gone-wild !! Especially, after his hot-off-the-box-office, out-of-this-world portrayl of: "Beetlejuice... Beetlejuice... Beetlejuice..." !!! @%* Golly, I will never understand why that wasn't completely obvious to the director who made that choice. Michael, was not anywhere even close, to the tough-serious guy, phsycially or psychologically necessary for the Batman role... any more than Fred McMurray was cut-out to be a gangster ;)
@@ZooxMaze Did you ever see McMurray in "Double Indemnity". Every time her called Stanwyk "Baby"... It made me laugh at him, and Now I laugh harder because he sounded exactly like Beavis from "Beavis and Butthead" whenever HE was trying to be cool with the ladies. The "Cain Mutiny" was more his style, He played a real gutless weasel in that one and was very believable.
2:00 - This caption (scene from Harold Lloyd’s “Safety Last” mislabeled as Laurel and Hardy’s “Their Purple Moment”) needs to be switched with the caption from 6:41 in Part 1 (Laurel and Hardy’s “Their Purple Moment” mislabeled as Harold Lloyd in “Safety Last”).
We saw one of the Superman's being filmed, can't remember which one. Were in southern Alberta and there were police cars with Texas stars on them. A little out of their jurisdiction. We got talking to someone who was a part of the film crew and he told us what was going on. It was fascinating to watch the process for a while.
I would dearly love to know the name of the background music and it's composer. It literally encompassed me in my throat e art of these pictures. Please ??!!
Frank Sinatra in make-up played one of the Spanish "rebel leaders" in "Pride and the Passion" co-starring Sophia Loren and Cary Grant. Richard Burton was not in this photo (or in the movie)
Several of the captions do not match the photographs! Since that is the basis for your "Rare History" channel, I suggest you take more time and care when assembling these videos. I won't be watching any more of them, however.
The Sellers and Pacino slides are swapped ... I paused and was staring at the first one (titled as Sellers, but was actually Pacino) for several minutes thinking ... no way that is P Sellers, looks like a spitting image of A Pacino ... then went to the next slide (titled as Pacino, but was Sellers) and knew I was right LOL!!!!
Man, has this site got some humongous errors? - For example: 7:05 - it is NOT Stanley Kubrick with Peter Sellers -- Rather, it is Francis Ford Coppola with Al Pacino and Diane Keaton... there are others, too -- Rare History needs some editors with knowledge of film history if they want to get this right.
00:30...looks like Leonard Nimoy but cant be! 🤷♂ Lauren was 7y older and she looks pretty young here... Their son, Stephen here, is about 3-4 old, so it must have been shooted in 1952/53 Nimoy was about 22y old. 😏
Golden Age of cinema...These pictures are amazing. Your videos are really great, we never get tired of watching them. Thank you !
Gave me the veryveryvery good old days ! I appreciated it so much forever !(89yrs.)
I was gratified to see Lauren Bacall with "Bogie" and their young son
"To have and have not" it was clear to me the chemistry between her and Humphrey Bogart. she possess a subtle beauty, a rare quality
That's Harold Lloyd hanging from the clock; nothing to do with Laurel and Hardy.
Raquel Welch was the definition of perfection.
Nice photos of when actors and actresses were professional. At the same time showing they were as human as the rest of us.😃🎭
5:02... Wow! And had it going on for decades! Amazing.
2:47 is the film 'Roman Holiday' , picture is of the Colosseum in Rome and not The Spanish Steps.
At 2:03 that's not Stan Laurel, Oliver Hard or Edgar Kennedy hanging from the clock - it's Harold Lloyd in "Safety Last".
Great batch of pics. Racquel is still gorgeous today, at 80!
how do you get Al Pacino/FFC confused with Sellers and Kubrick?
when people took pride in the way they looked
The more I see old pics of Raquel Welch, the more Im convinced she was the hottest woman ever
Welcome to the club...
Rich, I was just thinking that same thing. As they say in my neighborhood "Lord Have Mercy".
You are correct. There has never been a more completely gorgeous woman ever. Can’t top her.
I once saw a close-up photo in brilliant colour, of her, just head and shoulders, and that photo made me an instant admirer.
She has the most beautiful eyes, Just captivating.
You needed convincing? doh !
That is not Stanley Kubrick and Peter Sellers, etc.. It's Francis Ford Coppola directing Al Pacino and Diane Keaton in The Godfather
Sellers /Kubrick was next, they mixed up the captions.
I really hate CGI. The magic of working with real people and props is gone.
@2:04 that's Harold Lloyd in "Safety Last" from 1923. Definitely worth watching.
Gotta get the right captions to the right pics.
I do find it funny he has told us that the Coliseum in Rome is the Spanish Steps. That’s so obviously wrong it’s Police Squad hilarious.
great piece for cineasts, thank you
Enjoyed that very much, thank you 😊
7:13 Coppola, Pacino, Keaton in 'The Godfather'? Nope, that is 'Dr Strangelove'.
I found this to be the best of the series.
Fred McMurray always had that "What The Hell's Going On" look on his face.
I always likes McMurray in his comedies, but I couldn't stand him in his Hard boiled tough guy roles, because he always came across to me as the kind of "Tough Guy" who would fold up like a house of cards if anyone slapped him.

Need to edit some of the descriptions. A few are incorrect or on the wrong picture. Otherwise a good collection. Thanks.
I knew so many of these movies thank you thank you 💕
Women of those eras had way more class and finesse than modern day women... Worked harder, stayed fit and healthy without gyms and Drs...
True, but the clothing was more modest then and concealed more. Also, a woman of 140-160 lbs was considered beautiful then, not "fat".
And no tattoos.
Hooray!
NO TATTOOS!
There are several obvious mistakes like this.
we know !!
Very Interesting! As a photographer I was interested in seeing the set work.
Captions are all over the place on this one
02:42 Not Spanisch stairs, it is Colosseum in Italy
Correct, from the movie "Roman Holiday"
Also Spanish Spteps is in Italy: seems to be a sort of international name for "Trinità Dei Monti" in Rome. But surely was the Colosseum!
This is an error, the shot if of Harold Lloyd in "Safety Last" i believe, but still a nice shot. THanks for the lovely pictures

Good one
Excellent shots, but you have a few captions mixed up.
fantasticas fotos
The description was off on a couple starting with Al Pacino and Diane Keaton Godfather 1971
Love MM❤️
I would dearly love to know the name of the background music and it's composer. It literally encompassed me in my throat e art of these pictures.
Please ??!!
At least 3 images are mis-matched to their captions. Smarten up.
Hitchcock, he made some amazing films.
I have watched Sunset Boulevard! It is a really great movie in my opinion!
Got a few captions mixed up but generally a fun set of photos! Glad to see the Duke in one at last!
I love these old photos. But can't whoever puts them together do the smallest bit of editing to stop the simple mistakes. Gesh.
At 7:01 this is not PETER SELLERS but AL PACINO
Where did you get the music for this video? I think it so fits these photographs! Could you please tell me where I can git it from?
Instructions for Living a Life by Savfk
Miss Welch my pin up Viet Nam 1967 1968!
Where can I get the music soundtrack you use? I think great!
That one photo is not Frank Sinatra ,it’s Richard Burton.
Frank Sinatra in make-up played one of the Spanish "rebel leaders" in "Pride and the Passion" co-starring Sophia Loren and Cary Grant.
Richard Burton was not in this photo (or in the movie)
You go to all this trouble to collect the photographs and find suitable music, but then screw up the captions. "A" for effort, "C" for execution.
Love your work but some of the captions are out of place in this one
@ 2:45. Umm those are NOT the Spanish Steps. It’s obviously the Coliseum.
As others have noted, captions are mixed up with the wrong pics on some of these. --So, fix it, already.
Laurel & Hardy are down in the street by that black car.
You mixed up the picture of Al Pacino, Diane Keaton and Frances Ford Coppola and the scene with Peter Sellers in Dr. Strangelove.
A few of the subtitles are on the wrong pictures. Harold Lloyd for one.
Musika❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
way too many errors in the captioins
That is not Stan Laurel hanging from the clock face. It is Harold Lloyd.
1:52 is Harold Lloyd doing his own stunt in 'Safety Last'. 7:02 & 7:15 have swapped captions.
2:20 If you haven't seen Rebecca, you're long overdue..............!
Jim Henson was a genius, just my opinion
Actually it was Kermitt who did all the work...Jim only provided a hand of support from time to time.
Shame some of the captions were put with the wrong pictures.
Don’t think I’ve ever seen Hitchcock with hair
Do you have an algorithm pick the subtitles?
Von Shtup? 😂 Sounds like a name from a Mel Brooks movie. Or Austin Powers. Do you like to shtup? 😛
I hope you’re kidding. It’s a character from Blazing Saddles…
@@samiam619 😉
7:17: WRONG! It is Dr Strangelove
Hahaha... that's funny !! ;)
Raquel Welch is probably the most beautiful woman I've have ever seen in my life.
Several of the captions do not match the photographs! Since that is the basis for your "Rare History" channel, I suggest you take more time and care when assembling these videos. I won't be watching any more of them, however.
That’s not Baker Street - Baker Street is actually very short in length and nowhere near as portrayed in this photo!
Think you may have mislabeled 4 or 5 of these.
7:04 Francis Ford Copolla, Al Pacino and Diane Keaton. Film "The Godfather"
i noticed at least two mistakes for the descriptions for 2 of these photos
Oh, come on! Fix the captions!
😂 was certainly a challenge!
In Dr strange Love, its Al Pacino, not Peter Sellers?????????????
2 minuets , 6 seconds - i think that is Harold lloyd....
Photo/caption mismatch at 2:00, and 2 consecutive ones at 7:00. Do you actually review your videos before posting?
Subtitles at 7:00 and 7:10 are swapped.
Whoever runs this site needs to sync the comments with the pictures a little better.
Jesus...at least 5 captions that didn't match the pics.....get it together, baby!
My question is, from where are these photos come??
Maybe a museum .
What is the name of this melody?
At least two pics with wrong footage...
at 0:31 is that Leonard Nimoy standing beside a young Lauren Bacall?
That is not Baker Street, which is quite narrow, not a wide avenue.
A bunch of your captions do not match the photo they are shown with. Nothing like checking your work before you publish it!
Man, has this site got some humongous errors? - For example: 7:05 - it is NOT Stanley Kubrick with Peter Sellers -- Rather, it is Francis Ford Coppola with Al Pacino and Diane Keaton... there are others, too -- Rare History needs some editors with knowledge of film history if they want to get this right.
couple descriptions mixed up (godfather and dr strangelove).
Colosseum not Spanish Steps, seems to me, for Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn
you have a few of these mixed up.
R A Q U E L (2)
Quelle est cette musique de fond? Images saisissantes !
7.05 is Al Pacino and not Peter Sellers.
Some of these videos are totally mixed up
Ann Miller, hotter than Chinese mustard.
2:06 thats buster keaton?
Batman smoking lol.
the only one i see here is Buster Keaton.
Your lower captions for the Godfather and Dr Stangelove pictures were switched around.
00:30...looks like Leonard Nimoy but cant be! 🤷♂
Lauren was 7y older and she looks pretty young here...
Their son, Stephen here, is about 3-4 old, so it must have been shooted in 1952/53 Nimoy was about 22y old. 😏
Trump must have watched all of these movies. Such nonsense seems to have been the model for his life.
The misinformation and mistakes in this clip are unacceptable.
