Sadly this is the state of so many girls after marriage. Their families are belittled and they have to get approval every time to visit their parents. Unfortunately, most of the mother in laws/father in laws don't correct or condemn this kinda of behavior.

The problem arise when wife and husband are not earning members. When wife does not get her share of property this problem is more severe. The main culprit is mother giving all the benefits to sons only and giving best food to sons and left over to daughters. When own mother is not giving importance to daughter how can you expect respect from mother in law and husband. Even young mothers are nourishing their sons more than daughters. Women are disrespecting women not men. Men are innocent and less mature than their counterparts.
