In my experience don’t use mousse. It makes it dry, crunchy, and causes it to tangle easily. I’ve had the best results with leave-in conditioner type products.
My boho braids always last. I will say the first time i had them it was minimal to no shedding. Second time, it was so much shedding (same braider). I think this time when i get them (new braider) I will ask for their advice on how to have minimal shedding cus it may be something they can do on their end. What worked for me as far as my hair not matting up was using water, mousse to style my hair for the day and washing my hair when needed. I also detangled and braided my braids into two braids each night. I love boho braids. So many cute styles. The upkeep is worth it. Updated to say my braids were synthetic, the curl add in is always human and it lasted about 2 months each time I had them
I get what you're saying but most hairstyles really require some kind of maintenance when using hair extensions synthetic & human hair. For the most part some conditioner & water in a water bottle , some mouse & finger comb the braids and your good
Agreed some maintenance is needed with any hairstyle but some styles require more maintenance than others. I think ppl are getting these braids expecting less maintenance than what they are ❤️
i’ve heard from different people (that used synthetic nd human hair for the curls) that both human + synthetic tangle up either way unless you take good care of em.
They both tangle the same I've had both, actually a good brand synthetic for me was best I braided at night and mouse or stay in the am only difference is the price lol
Even with human hair, it's an absolute pain I've had them for two weeks and I am so over it. I've spent 2 (2-3 hours) sessions detangling the pieces and putting leaves in, mouse and curl cream and the next day hair is still frizzy. In the morning straight out of my house, my hair is great by the time I get to work my hair is frizzy. My last hope is to use gel on the pieces. It's too much work, especially if you aren't trying to do your hair. I do everything to protect my hair at night and still frizzs.
I get clients complaining that they want human hair because they don’t want any tangles and I just laugh first before trying to explain that just like their natural hair, they would need to take care of this style if they want it to last as long as they desire. Happy to see they are loving their hairstyle ❤
I got goodness braids but only 1 pack because I normally wear crochet synthetic curly hair and it gets matted so bad and I know how it’s to wake up every morning and add muse just to separate so with experience the best is not to add that much hair
Girl the person that breeds her own hair and is trying to build a little clientele I really appreciate you with this. Thank you.. I’m getting ready to go to the Philippines. I want a new book, but this definitely helps for me to make a decision if I wanted to put those extra pieces or not thank you so so much😊
I don't mind doing maintenance, i can do it daily because i like to look pretty for the day. But the salon in ny neighborhood doesn't have human hair and im not sure if i want to add the extra expense of buying additional human hair
I tell clients human hair is just like the hair on your head. The more product the more it weighs down and get tangled. It reverts when wet and dry. And with more flyaways the more tangles. And keep your hands out of it.
The only problem I have with some human hair is that it looks stringy with no curls or waves…boho braids look gorgeous with a little body to it…now synthetic hair can be managed but it takes a little more effort and the right products..twist or braid the hair at night, use Hawaiian silky conditioner, and you’re good to go! Freetress Beach curl is a great synthetic brand, you can go swimming and snorkeling for hours and your hair will still look amazing! Don’t brush synthetic hair, just use your fingers!
😂😂😂😂 ok call me out then! Yes it was a bit stringy here you just have to find the right hair. I have since then though & the hair I use now it looks so much better and if I feel it’s loosing its curl I just add a little water & mousse
Yes I had that problem too. You need to make sure the human hair is braided down enough. Once I got a longer length & braided it down more I didn't have that problem anymore
I appreciate this video. I just got boho braids for the first time, and they are gorgeous, but I’m realizing how high maintenance they are. I have a lot of hair out and it’s getting matted. I will get less hair next time. Thanks!
I sew in only human weave hair in back, put synthetic in top and on sides and crochet a few strands of human hair on sides. This way I can totally separate and comb my weave hair in back, let synthetic flow from top middle and no tangles.
I’m wondering is hair brand matters because I’ve had my braids for a few weeks and the hair is still super soft and I’ve had minimal tangling. I also was told not to put mousse on it & I haven’t.
My hair mated a little after gym I sweat a lot but once I put the det angler it was fine. Any recommendations for how to wear during gym to prevent that if possible
I’m a braider and you right but I have told people what to do to maintain and some just don’t do what they are supposed to sometimes and want you to work a miracle 😐
Apparently I can't reply to comments idk what's going on with my yt but😭 I use mayde beauty bloom bundle mastermix. It doesn't tangle for me(the curls)
So I get synthetic curls that specifically don't tangle. Now I do braid my braids and then put my bonnet on to help them not tangle as much. But that's just been my experience.
In my experience don’t use mousse. It makes it dry, crunchy, and causes it to tangle easily. I’ve had the best results with leave-in conditioner type products.
I think it depends on what type of mousse you’re using. The one I use doesn’t make the hair hard at all
That's what the person who did my hair told me to do...not to use mouse but water and leave-in conditioner.
I use the olive oil mousse and it lasted be for 2 months
i agree my mistake the moose
@@Boss_etc853olive oil one ima try

Both will tangle. With synthetic I wouldn’t know what to do though. Light detangling with human hair every other day or so works for me
synthetic you don’t brush it just separate it with your fingers and some moose or wig spray.
They both tangle the same I've had both, actually a good brand synthetic for me was best I braided at night and mouse or stay in the am only difference is the price lol

It does require some maintenance but overall doesn’t give me too many problems
Just use leave in ! I find if I use too much product they matte more
Mine never matted for 7 months, I had more issues with human hair. I think it depends on the hair you get and any hairstyle needs maintenance
What synthetic brand do you recommend?
How did you maintain this?
@@shamsa971 flat iron, it was ALOT of maintenance
@@quorriebeautiful6937 oh so you didn't keep it curly?
@@shamsa971 I did, but in order for me to keep it from getting rough, I had to use the flat iron 1st

Find human hair that has a curl to it. I never get straight hair and my human hair always maintains a curl
@@NiaraAlexisit looks a bit stringy in this video…no shade but that’s what I mostly see when it comes to human hair.

I crochet the hair in. I don't much in. When it gets old i take it out.
That’s a good idea

What brand do you use? 🙏🏼
Definitelt depends
I agree use synthetic hair no mouse I also use a very light off brand mist oil magic
Used 2.5 bundles of human deep wave and it is 👌🏾
I had synthetic mermaid braids for almost 2 months you just have to take care of it
All depends on the level of maintenance you want/willing to do!
😂 "you want the buss down Middle part" I'm hollering crying 😂
Well said dear, great sharing sweetheart 👏 they need that education from the hairstylist
What brush and products do you use?
Check my Amazon store front for product recs

Put it in 4 (or so) braids.
Anyone used synthetic spetra hair/ xpression brand for this style?
There is no solution they will mat and tangle now matter what . Btw small pieces lose the curl pattern fast.
I’m a braider and you right but I have told people what to do to maintain and some just don’t do what they are supposed to sometimes and want you to work a miracle 😐
They gonna do what they want!
Every night and morning put leave in conditioner spray and mouse on them ittakes like 5 minutes
What brand of hair? I get confused when I see “100% human” then $49.99? Or Milky Way Que “mastermix” “human”
No specific brand! I bought mine from amazon
Wish I saw this video before I got mine. These braids turned out to be the worse I ever got! NEVER AGAIN!!😩🤦🏾♀️
Great tips. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
But your hair doesn’t look curly or that well no hate but how will you teach us if I don’t really like yours?
Plenty of other creators/tutorials to learn from 🤎
How is mousse high maintenance??💀
For someone who isn’t used to doing anything to their hair when it’s in braids adding even one more step can be considered higher maintenance 🤎
hey i need help cus my hair got matted up the second day and i didnt know i should of used human hair instead of synthetic hair. what should i do ??
Take the synthetic hair out
Okay go' geous!

What kind of human hair do you use
