+slnorton7 There is no air conditioning in the tower, but most of the year is pretty cool, so the heating kicks in! The community bathrooms are cleaned daily, and I never had to wait for a toilet or a shower. Definitely bring a shower caddy that you can hang on the handle and not put on the ground!
@@k.oseland Thanks so much for getting back to me! Do you live there now? Does each floor have shared cleaning supplies and are there paper towels in the bathroom? Unfortunately, I didn't get to see the restrooms when we were there. I'm definitely bringing a tower fan for my son. Are there hooks on the back of the dorm room doors? Or on the side walls when you enter? I've seen towel bars and hooks but not sure what stays with the room and what goes. Thanks again!
Cathy McGeary I graduated from UI about 2 years ago. :) There are no paper towels in the bathrooms but hand air dryers. There aren’t hooks on the back of dorm doors, but you can easily install a command hook yourself. The towel bars to the left and right of the door are standard for every room. There aren’t standard cleaning supplies for each floor so I suggest bringing your own for your room. The common areas and bathrooms are cleaned by staff weekly.
@@thatlittlemissme I was thinking something like this for the back of the door: www.bedbathandbeyond.com/store/product/over-the-door-hook-rack-with-towel-bar/1041564028?skuId=41564028. Thanks for the bathroom and cleaning supplies info! Are you from the area? How did you like the school? My son is coming from San Diego, CA so this will be a big change for him.
@@bzwench Yeah, that would work great! I'm no longer in northern Idaho, but it was a wonderful university experience and I constantly tell high schoolers I mentor to consider going there. Your son will have a great time!

Ahh ill be just a couple doors down this upcoming fall!
Does the air conditioning work in those dorms? And how are the community bathrooms? are they dirty? Are they normally busy? Any other tips?

This is terrific! My son will be on the third floor starting this fall. You gave me a few ideas to think about! Do the windows open, for fresh air?
Hi Cathy,
Yes, they do! It's definitely pretty toasty the last two weeks of August, but tower fans are the best way to keep air flowing.

Is there a heating system inside the dorms?
Can you give me some information about admission?
I love your videos!
