Sarah, this was very well done. Thank you for sharing this important issue in this hectic time. I have my grandfather's 48 star flag and cherish it immensely.
Wow !!!! Thank You I had never heard of this. It's Amazing that They named a Bridge /Road after Betsy Ross. Reading an listing to that she did an the fact that she ran away to get Married was Brave of her. Th e out living 3 husband's goodness. Thank you for sharing this Information for us to learn by an enjoy a touch of History. I just Love your work its so cool an informative. By the way my Grandma out lived both of hers.
When I was starting school in 1962 we had a mix of 48 and 49 star flags We got all 50 in 64. I prefer the 48 Star flag as it is the flag my Uncles and Great Uncle's fought under in WWi and WWII.
Kirk Morrison, We adopted the 50 star flag in 1960. President Eisenhower signed the decoration in 1959, when both Hawai'i and Alaska became the 49 and 50 state respectively. I was in 2nd grade when this happened and what a wonderful experience that was.
@@whiterabbit-wo7hw Well, my school did replace all the flags at once. They were building a lot of new schools got all the new ones. The main flag was the new 50 Star flag but most of the ones in the classrooms were the older ones for a few years

I love Betsy Ross because even if it was a legend about her and the first flag she still contributed greatly to the American revolution.

I believe she did it
So much so that I portray her every 4th in our town parade, and I wrote a picture book about her. Yeah, Betsy!
