@@ValorousFogey have you seen the documentary about the german girl who survived the plane crash over the jungle which that german guy you know the guy we all know and love, but i forgot his name, was supposed to be on?
I wouldn't mind that Danny get some mainstream commercial success. He's worked very hard all those years and I don't see why he shouldn't be able to enjoy at least some tangible benefits from his music instead of fading away as a trendy producer only known by a few. He's produced tons of "obscure" stuff anyway; he already has given a lot and having a few commercially successful records would not diminish his talent.
LEGOWELT will be relevant in electronic musik history and he is a real underground legend with a huge fan base I think. Not a standard "One short moment of fame" musician which will be forgotten after a few years (few of them with the luck of 1 or 2 lasting songs). He is one of the absolute most important artists for me and my life.
If you like this song you may really enjoy his classic album Wirtschaftswunder from 2000 and his releases by this time. This one here reminds me of the time when I first discovered his music (by accident) in 2000, 2001. One of Legowelts big "Dance Floor Classics" is also Squadra Blanco - Night Of The Illuminati. There are hundrets of Legowelt releases that I truly adore and listen again and again and again for so many years now. And I am still discovering permanently so many new stuff by him. But his releases I love and listen the most are his ambient excursions - I like to call it "Imaginary movie scores". Recommendations amongst many others: All his releases as Smackos (!) Franz Falckenhaus Klaus Weltman Sammy Osmo Saab Knutson Zandfort & Uilenbal Phalangius Occult Orientated Crime Nacho Patrol Rising Sun Systems The Psychic Stewardess Swan Song Of The Sunk Ape (Under his real name) Unfolding The Future With Amateur Space Jazz (Under his real name) Legowelt - The Rise And Fall Of Manuel Noriega (and many more)
yeah thats my favorite thing about him to. I think its because he uses 1960s and 70s synthesizers instead the popular computer programs many artists use today
@Turtelin I love what he stands for. He made his name because he believes music is like legos being put together to create a greater whole. And that's why I like Netsky too, they both invasive sounds that are very organized
Great track named after a brilliant film. Herzog didn't exploit the native population, he paid them relatively well (I think he said 2 times the lumber company's wage) and helped them get legal rights to their land. They also had medical facilities that treated locals that weren't even involved with filming. There were a couple of plane crashes, an arrow attack by a hostile tribe, poisonous snakes, and one accidental drowning. No Indians were crushed. Shame about Mick Jagger though.
DiscoRout is probably the most popular! Great track indeed, it's a milestone. But I think Danny gives his best on the "emotional" side... give a listen to "Night of the Illuminati" and his new project Nacho Patrol or his own releases on Strange Life
@duggabax i think you'll find that real elitism is to be found in the mainstream shithole places like ibiza and ministry of sound. so,being elitist with actual elitists in the mainstream, is in fact, a very positive, genuine and humane act : )
Well.. tastes differ ofcoarse.., tho maybe you haven't heared "Gina fly to space" or "Congo Zombie" or the myriads of works under his many other aliases.. (check discogs)
@MPMIRANDA28 I prefer instead that he stays out of mainstream, we don't want him next to Bob Sinclair , David Guetta,Tiesto, Liebling or Hawtin' at Ibiza or some ministry of sound. Legowelt is something exclusive, for superior people with superior taste
The fact that people don't know how amazing legowelt is
We know, we know ;)
so if i was a fan it would be better naked and my favorite Sleupee on top. I love insights! ( edit: sorry Lego... had to prove a point drunk)
This song inspired me to watch the film Fitzcarraldo and later visit the Amazon rainforest. Good times!
xxxxx!!! I came from fitz , now listening this and soon at rainforest
Have you also seen the documentary about how they made the film? It's crazy.. and amazing.
