Colley you always find the x factor... great job Alex, you definitely have the genes!!😊
There something compelling about each. Love the juicy paint application.
Wow! Nice one, Alex! Don’t retire from painting just yet! 🩵 I particularly love your use of different colors that happen to be the correct value for the painting! Very creative.
I can’t afford to retire at 25, I can hear the brushes calling to me.
Alex, you have your Dad's hands. Don't let perfectionism get the best of you! Beautiful work!
Thanks Marsha, I think your words might’ve spurred me out of retirement. -Alex
My, Alex has done very well, great feeling of light ….yours Colley was just stunning , as always . Thank you both for this great video
Thanks once again Margaret, we had a lot of fun with this one.
Really enjoyed this father - son video. The painting was great, but also the relationship was fun to watch.
Glad you enjoyed it.
Very good amateur effort ,some of you rubbed off there.
Just a little 🤏
Both hilarious and amazing. Great idea for a video and great execution on your 1st painting!!
Great job Alex...and Colley.
That was fun! I always enjoy watching Colley's paintings come to life, and watching Alex's painting develop was really interesting too. Alex has definitely picked up important tips from his Dad. Both paintings are really good. As Colley's always are! Well done and thank you
Thanks, glad you enjoyed this ‘experiment.’
Fun! This really demonstrates the differences between experienced and less experienced painting. I wish you pointed what those differences were, specifically. That would have been more of a learning experience. Thanks! Enjoyed!
Hi, Alex here 👋
I’d say that being around dad’s work I’ve recognised his ability to structure and build out a scene, starting with the dominant shapes, then letting those passages connect the rest of the scene together; crossing all the T’s and dotting all the I’s in the last 5-10%. I had a lot of fun on this one and definitely will paint again at some point.
Thanks for your comment.
Very enjoyable to see both you and your son paint Colley. I thought Alex did quite well.
Regards, Ted Hawkes
Thanks for watching Ted.
Sweet! 🙂
Very good first effort Alex. Don't give up yet. With a bit of practice you could overtake your father!!!
I’m way ahead of you Anna, I’m playing the long game. 😉
Both paintings are very goood!
Thank you! Cheers.
Greetings! The difference between artists and painting lovers depends in my point of view on the skill of each person. There are also painting lovers who know how to create beautiful works even if they do not have a wealth of knowledge about painting techniques. And there are also those who consider themselves artists and make paintings that even children could make. You are also and I mean "VERY" lucky enough to find an art critic who places you in a famous gallery as an emerging painter and that your works are to be considered great works of art and that's it. You can also be a very good ARTIST and not be lucky enough to meet an Art Critic who puts you in the loop of the Art business and you spend your time painting canvas after canvas without being able to sell as happened to Vincent Van Gogh and many other great artists. Take for example the great artist Jackson Polloch who was lucky enough to meet that journalist who made him known and managed to establish himself as a GREAT ARTIST otherwise he wouldn't have needed to throw color after color on the canvases.
We’re all on a journey.
