What is your best Instagram & Bookstagram tips? Share with everyone in the comments!! Btw I surpassed 13k followers and I'm well on my way to 14k now!!
Your last tip really helped me as a bookstagrammer. I kept worrying about props and filters when it came to my photos and in the end, I wasn't happy with the results. Your tip about posting what I want really helped. I'm a minimalist so I applied that to my bookstagram and the results were super great. I've gained lots of followers AND I'm getting a ton of free books from publishers and authors now as well. Thanks a bunch for your awesome tips. 🖤
Great tips as always! I think another big thing I’ve seen is don’t get into the community to “hook up” with other people .. because once it gets to around with multiple people , you are outed .. basically don’t be a perv we are just here for books!
I am about to "buddy read" a book on Monday and I'm really excited! I have never done this before and no one in my school actually likes reading, ikr what's wrong with them, anyway I'm super excited because I can share my thoughts and we can talk about the book.
Honestly this really helped me. I am looking for a change in me in a positive way. Your tips are exclusive and you have tipped us with such important points.
I have just started on bookstagram and was so confused!! Thank you so much for these tips, especially your tip about engagement, reaching out to others is scary but I'll definitely give it a try! ❤
2 years late but loved this! I’d considered the international timing but was unsure what type of time would be suitable for both UK / America and so on
Great tips, as per usual. These compliment really well with your previous video about Bookstagram. Being an introvert, I can say interacting through social media is far easier than in real life. But I'm guilty of running away from chats or my own comments because I get really anxious about other people's responses. Need to tell my brain there's nothing to fear xD As a tip, and this is something I want to start doing, having a daily to do list might help being more organized. This way one can schedule their own content and hopefully post more frequently. I really appreciate this type of videos you make, so I was hoping you could do a similar one with tips on how to start a booktube channel. As someone who's been watching booktube for 5 years now, and toying with the idea of starting my own for the last 4, I could really do with some help on this topic. I love your channel and seeing how unique you are makes me believe it doesn't matter if I don't read the same as everyone else, I can bring my own spin to the community. Thanks for this video, Marie. Stay goth and safe!
I think the only reason why people follow me is because of my book reviews and I compliment strangers' post alot. Haven't tried the tagging thing and all. Thanks for this ✨
I'm here super late! I've had my bookstagram for 3 years, and have not hit a milestone in two, I've been declining in followers daily. I have been posting and interacting constantly, but a bookstagrammer with a lot of influence said a lot of terrible things about me and I'm still recovering from it. it sucks to put so much work into things with so little return. I used to have at least 5-6 comments on every post and now I'm lucky to reach 10 likes per post.
Thank you! This was helpful. Especially the crediting of artwork and pictures when posting. I've shared a few pictures that reminded me of the characters in my book and credited pinterest but I think I'll go back do a more thorough credit. 🖤
Hello! Thank you for this video. I created a bookstagram account two years ago, but I had some difficulties to grow my account because I had personal issues in 2019 and I didn’t post a lot. Now I have 258 followers and I’m trying hard to make content that I like and that people can appreciate too. Thank you for these advices. (ps: sorry for my english im french, I don’t know if it’s correct 🙈).
Ah #5 is one I worry about sometimes. I hang out mostly in horror bookstagram and I sometimes feel weird about posting my witchy/spiritual books since they don't really "fit in." Eventually I realized that if someone unfollows me because they don't like that content, that's totally okay and just means that we weren't a good match. I've even been surprised at how well some of those posts have done and have gotten some sweet comments from places I wouldn't have expected! (@iamcertainlylost)
Oh for sure post them!! You are 💯 about people not being a match but I have no doubt most people like it. I think variety is a good thing!! Thank you for watching...I'll check out your IG!!
I started bookstagramm last year and ghosted😓😓. I’m thinking of getting right back into it but I’m scared my account has been dormant for so long, it would never grow or something. Any tips?😭
What would your advice be to mix bookstagram with a personal page? I feel like having 2 separate accounts would be overwhelming so if I mixed pictures of book with my “life pictures” would it be considered a bookstagram?! Am I making sense?! 😂
I`ve been doing that, because it makes me happy to do so and shows different sides of my personality. I know its not the most popular thing ever for bookstagram per se, but I keep coming across more accounts doing it, which also makes things more fun on insta :)
I plan to mix hobbies and they all come back to the books and resources I use to progress those hobbies. for example: my bookstagram genres will cover herbalism, self development/healing, beginner books in Spanish, fiction and literally everything im learning in my real life. so technically, it's still a bookstagram, just relate it to books thru a caption. or if you post completely off topic I think it's fine as long as the majority of your posts are 'bookish' your followers shouldn't leave you. good luck!
I just started my own bookstagram last Saturday and currently my main concern is posting daily. I kind of thought about posting maybe 2-3 times a week, but not more than that, mostly because I don't really have content. Do you think it's important to post daily or every other day until your IG grows, or should I just continue with my original plan of posting 2-3 times a week?
Posting daily is the most ideal option, especially when growing your page, but life and the practicality of it has to be factored in! I would try to post as much as you can and make sure it's consistent, eg same days, same times etc
This was such a helpful and informative video! Great stuff! New subscriber here. Excited to dig into your content even more, and I will go follow you on instagram as well! :)
This was really helpful!! Including things I hadn’t even thought of! I’m using unlicensed photos but will still make sure I go back and include the photographers names!! And post and ghosting hahaha I definitely need to keep an eye on that! I’m brand new because I like books and wanted to be part of a community that feel the same! (@TheLonelyGirlLibrary)
Hey!! New to your channel and i LOVE IT!! Could you plss say me how to grow on bookstagram with e-books , cuz i am kinda broke and I love reading e-books. Would help a lot if you replied!!
Hey!! Welcome! What I do when I get ebooks is I either photograph a photo of the cover on a phone/tablet or I photo shop that picture in to seem like a book is there
Thank you for the video!! I just subscribed and see you love horror. Do you have any recommendations for introducing someone to the genre. I love romance so anything with both would be great @bookswithrochelle
I recently read The Deep by Alma Katsu which I wanted to be a bit more horror but found it to be a romance with a paranormal twist....that could be a good transition into pure horror
Hey Marie!! You are spot on with these tips and I totally agree with the copying part. I see so many young bookstagrammers, mostly students, whose accounts/content/pictures are eerily similar to eachother. I feel it's very important that your work reflects your personality. I am also a hobbyist photographer and that is my curse in a way as I spend hours trying to get the perfect composition! 🤣 That said, I try to stick to what I like and what inspires me, rather than following any popular themes!
