I wish I had the space and money to buy a Yamaha Motif XS7 but at some point in the future I'm hoping to buy the rack version the Motif XS Rack which I believe has exactly the same sounds. For now I have Halion 7 at least for as long as I have my current PC.
Yes, to be honst I prefer Roland sound modules from the 90s like the JV/XP rack synths and Sound Canvas modules like the SC-55, SC-88 Pro and SC-8850 which for Roland still sound pretty damn good even today as some sounds from older Roland sound modules are still used in newer Roland instruments. Motif XS is one of the best workstation/synthesizers ever. Nothing today even comes close to Motif XS except for Halion which is based on a mix of Motif sounds from each generation of Motif. Montage had really powerful FM synthesis but Yamaha have just discontinued Montage.
