People like you are very important in our society, dig deep to the core root of the our vedic culture and connect all the missing puzzles please, actually all kids have to be thought about these vedic practice and slowly the generations will accept it.
Very genrous to share this, its very helpful to sincere sadhakas. Chanting like this is even more powerful than reading it, cause there is shravana and this can lead sadhaka to manana. Sanskrt chant leave deeply satvic impressions and those kind of vasanas are non harmful and helpful. This way sun which is rational part of mind and moon which is feeling part of mind can come together and open up sushumna and third eye. When Jnana and Bhakti join together result is very powerful indeed. This chant is like that. I ve been looking for chants like this but mostly sound awful, wrongly chanted and this create disharmony in the mind, it is weak, but this is strong and satvic. Good service and joy to your mind ! Om Namah Shivaya Gurave Satchittananda murtaye Om Dakshinamurtaye Swaha Om Shantihi
Wow!!! This is a pure manifestation of perfection! Thank you very much for this. This is the only translation I found that clearly explains every single experience I had in 20 years of meditation (without knowing it was meditation). And the sound, the music and the chanting are really good, as well! Thank you very, very much!
🌞A Very Happy #InternationalDayofYoga to all of you! 🙏 With this day, starts Dakshinayana(Second Half of the Year, Sun's Southern Run), also known as the sadhana pada(The period of Practice and Self-Transformation). Thank You So much for All Your Love and Support! 🙏
Hi, friend from The Sanskrit Channel! First of all, thank you so much for this terrific work! I would like to share something I see. It seems to me there's a mistake in the synchronization of the translations and the original sentences from the point of chapter 3 sutra 21. It seems that the translations at that point refer to the previous sentence. See for example at minute 19' the sentence hRRidaye chittasaMvit ||3.34||. The translation would be "Focusing with perfect discipline on the heart, one understands the nature of consciousness". But this translation appears only later, at 19'08'' at the next slide from the sútra 3.34. I've notice the Yôga Sutras of Pátañjali have sometimes 55 and sometimes 56 sutras in this third chapter. I don't know what's correct because I don't know where to check the original information. I don't know where can be found the most ancient copy of The Yôga Sútras nowadays. And this conflicted variants of the third chapter my have contributed to a problem of synchronization in your slides. Please answer me in order to help your whole community and share with us your light on the subject. Thank you very much. Alexandre Montagna
First Chapter: Equanimous Mind And now, the Self-Discipline of Yoga. Yoga is to still the patterning of consciousness. Then, pure awareness can abide in its very nature. Otherwise, awareness takes itself to be the patterns of consciousness. There are five types of patterns, including both hurtful and benign. They are right perceptions, deep sleep and remembering. Right perception arises from direct observation, inference, or the words of others. Misperception is a false knowledge, not based on what actually is. Conceptualization derives from linguistic knowledge, not contact with real things. Deep sleep is a pattern grounded in the perception that nothing exists. Remembering is the retention of experience. Both practise and non-reaction are required to still patterning of consciousness. Practice is the sustained effort to rest in that stillness. And this practice becomes firmly rooted when it is cultivated skillfully and continuously for a long time. As for non-reaction one can recognise that it has been fully achieved when no attachment arises in regard to anything at all, whether perceived directly or learned. When ultimate level of non-reaction is reached, pure awareness can clearly see itself as independent from the fundamental qualities of nature. At first the stilling process is accompanied by four kinds of cognition: analytical thinking, insight, bliss, or feeling like a self. Later, after one practice steadily to bring all thought to a standstill, these four kinds of cognition fall away, leaving only a store of latent impression in depth memory. Once the body is gone, and these latent impressions are dissolved in nature, they are inclined to be reborn. For all others, faith, energy, mindfulness, integration, and wisdom from the path to realization. For those who seek liberation wholeheartedly, realization is near. How near depends on whether the practice is mild, moderate, or intense. Realization may also come if one is oriented toward the ideal of pure awareness, Isvara. Isvara is a distinct, incorruptible form of pure awareness, utterly independent of cause and effect, and lacking any store of latent impressions. Its independence makes this awareness an inoperable source of omniscience. Existing beyond time, Isvara was also an ideal of the ancients. Existing beyond time, Isvara was also the ideal of the ancients. Isvara is represented by a sound, OM. Through repetition it’s meaning becomes clear. Then, interiorizations develop and obstacles fall away. Sickness, apathy, doubt, carelessness, laziness, hedonism, delusionlack of progress, and inconstancy are all distractions which, by stirring up consciousness, act as barriers to stillness. When they do, one may experience distress, depression, or the inability to maintain steadiness of posture or breathing. One can subdue these distractions by working with any one of the following principles of practice. Consciousness settles as one radiates friendliness, compassion, delight, and equanimity toward all things, whether pleasant or painful, good or bad. Or by pausing after breath flows in or out. Or by steadily observing as new sensations materialize. Or when experiencing thoughts that are luminous and free of sorrow. Or focusing on things that do not inspire attachment. Or by reflecting on insights culled from sleep and dreaming. Or through meditative absorption in any desired object. One can be fully absorbed in any object, whether vast or infinitesimal. As the patterning of consciousness subsides, a transparent way of seeing, called coalescence, saturates consciousness; like a jewel, it reflects equally whatever lies before it - whether subject, object, or act of perceiving. So long as conceptual or linguistic knowledge pervades this transparency, it is called coalesce with thought. At the next, stage called coalescence beyond thoughts, objects cease to be coloured by memory; now formless, only their essential nature shines forth. In the same way, coalesced contemplation of subtle objects is described as reflective or reflection-free. Subtle objects can be traced back to their origin in undifferentiated nature. These four kinds of coalesce - with thought, beyond thought, reflective, reflection-fee - are called integration that bears seeds of latent impressions. In the lucidity of coalesced, reflection-free contemplation, the nature of the self becomes clear. The wisdom that arises in that lucidity is unerring. Unlike insights acquired through inference or teachings, this wisdom has as its object the actual distinction between pure awareness and consciousness. It generates latent impressions that prevent the activation of other impressions. When even these cases to arise, and the patterning of consciousness is completely stilled, integration bears no further seeds. Thus, the first chapter, named Samadhi Pada of the Yoga Sutras, written by Sage Patanjali.
I’ve been lucky enough to stumble on meditative states that changed my world, like a brief flash of what I’ve been calling “root experience”. Now I’m dead set on continuing to explore those states, and translating them in a way that can help all my cousins here in the west. I’m still not sure if I’m actually working towards samadhi or not or if I’m just going insane lol, but this has been a huge help. I feel like I’m at least heading in the right direction now. Thanks!!! 🙏 😅
My dear brother (wherever you are!) I am in such gratitude for your channel... I am doing my best to get these pronunciations correct... and the more I try the more I truly feel the power of the sutras... this is absolutely true and .... alas, "how wonderful", as Ma says

Thank you so much for this video. I will start my university course of "Indology" in Hamburg very soon, concentrating on the studies of Sanskrit. I am a yoga teacher myself and would want to concentrate my studies especially around yoga later on. I have read the Yoga Sutra Pradipika by B.K.S. This is a very interesting video indeed. Love to hear a commentary on it. Here some explanation is required, For example - what does Sage Patanjali mean when he refers as "perfect discipline" as well as "Integration" of what? Chapter 3 is mind-blowing, it simply explains the secret of all ancient discovery and inventions and superhuman accomplishments by rishis. And Chapter 4 requires commentary for sure.
You put so much effort on making each and every video that it really painstaking...the presentation, music and other auxiliary aspects are of optimum level...
Thank you so much Shreyas! Love from dallas, i got initiated into shambavi and im in the first stage still yet to activate my chakras, i can feel a lot of pressure near third eye and loving the meditative absorption. You gave direction to my life through this video. I bow down to you :)
It is amazing that the grammar of Sanskrit allows for such informational density. One thing, I think pratyahara is missing from the eight disciplines - only seven were listed. That you for the work, I have never actually read the Sutras themselves not have had them read to me! I have only read about them from the discourses of other masters.

Thank you so much Shreyas! Love from dallas, i got initiated into shambavi and im in the first stage still yet to activate my chakras, i can feel a lot of pressure near third eye and loving the meditative absorption. You gave direction to my life through this video. I bow down to you :)

Good!
Very helpful. Thanks and Regards🙏🙏🙏
