Thanks so much. The mechanic was going to charge me $290.00 to replace my driver side door handle. Thanks to you and your video I was able to do it myself for less than $100.00 including the parts and tools. Next time it will cost me even less because I already have the tools. No more rolling down the window and opening the door from the outside. 😂 Keep up the good work.
No Need to roll down the window next time. You should be able to open the door from inside by: Pulling on the door handle, pull on the lock handle, push in at the back of the lock handle.
Thank You! I'm lousy at auto repair but just followed step by step, saved a ton of money. This would be a perfect presentation if he only mentioned the tool sizes... So instead of, 'remove this bolt,' He should say, 'remove this 5/16ths bolt,' etc etc...
I want to thank you for recording this content. This made my repair a breeze and was done in 20 minutes. You and others on RUclips have changed the world in how we do things. Thanks again :)
This is the best video I have seen and used on the internet for a very long time. The young man was articulate in his presentation. It saved me a bunch of money by following his instructions.
I used your video to replace my inside door handle in 08 Ford Fusion. Great Job!! Your instruction was so confidently spoken to ensure me (a klutz) I could do it. I did and Thank you for ALL your video's.
Had a shop replace a door handle a few years ago and he charged more than $100. Both driver and passenger handles were broken recently and I watched this video. Perfect tutorial on how to change them. Highly recommend to check it out and buy the handles yourself.

Thanks Rarely do you see a video that looks this easy...and it turns out that it is this easy! Great instruction and step by step detail. Took me about an hour and saved me a fortune! Awesome!
Thank you! Took me less than an hour to do this. I managed to get by with just a small flat head screw driver since I didn’t have any wedge tools and a socket kit (no power tools).
Thank you very much. I followed all your instructions. Because of you I fixed my door handle! Much love to you 😍 May God bless you abundantly for these videos.✝️ LOVE Rose
So my husband broke the inside handle in our 2011 Ford fusion. It opens from the outside but not the inside. I bought a new handle and was waiting till it was a bit warmer to fix it, as we live in a condo and don't have a garage. Recently we had a cold snap, warnings all over the news and weather apps. It got really cold really fast as it usually does in Alberta Canada. We have been having some issues with the battery and I tried to jump start it with a battery pack booster. That little thing is powerful and has worked amazingly trying to boost a dead battery previously but this time it did not work. I wonder if that maybe messed up the battery somehow. Anyways when I went to lock the car back up it wouldn't lock with the key fob. So I left it and when I checked the doors 10 mins later it was locked, but didn't plug it in because the extension cord was damaged. A few days later I went to go open the car so I could pop the hood and see what the battery info was to order a trickle charger for it and it won't unlock. The physical key won't even unlock it. The only way In is through the trunk, so now I have to try to get inside from the trunk and I haven't attempted that crawl yet. I suspect there is something draining the battery and I googled what it could be and there was a few sites that mentioned the a door lock actuator. So my question is, could the handle inside being broken and opening the car door from the outside have damaged the door actuator, causing it to drain my battery and maybe shorted the fuse?
+s. guttmann The install for the passenger side should be the same or similar. We are unable to verify the repair cost through a shop. Buy this part on 1AAuto.com: 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
my friend Hutis Shingler Will Not fix his door handle. he rolls the window down and reaches for it. when it gets chilly he can't open it. he gets locked in.

is it pretty much the same process for the rear doors?
What size is the torx screw?
What’s the flap called inside the door handle I’m trying to buy some for my car 0:16
Thank you
I need to fix mine same side , how would I know it’s not the cable. The cable looks pretty strong. Thanks
Why is this a common problem with this vehicle (& the 2011 Mercury Milan, which is basically the same car)?
Excellent vid. Cheers!
+slappy200 Thanks for watching our video! 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
Very helpful!
Easy peazy thanks
What size socket for the mounting bolt? I cant get it off
Two questions both to do with the gloves.
1) Why?
2) Why don’t they fit?
Is it the same for the passenger side? How much it would be at a shop?
+s. guttmann The install for the passenger side should be the same or similar. We are unable to verify the repair cost through a shop. Buy this part on 1AAuto.com: 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
Anyone know what size bolt is the first one he removes? I can’t seem to find anything that fits it
Thanks
Can anyone else not get the cap off by the door handle?
