SIFAT Learn & Serve 2012 - Week 3

SIFAT (Servants in Faith and Technology) is an international training organization that exists to train leaders all around the world (currently in 87 countries) simple solutions to problems like dirty drinking water, sanitation, malnutrition, smoke inhalation, etc. We call these simple solutions "Appropriate Technology" or using what's around you to provide for your three basic needs of food, water and shelter. The international training is one reason that SIFAT exists. Another reason, is to connect people domestically (in the United States) with people all around the world living in developing countries. This connection comes through experiential learning in our global village (houses representing different countries built and designed by men and women from those countries), urban slum simulation, learning appropriate technology, and sometimes meeting community leaders from all around the world who are occasionally on our campus in Lineville, AL. This programming/experience is part of what we call our Learn & Serve programming. During the Summer, students experience a variety of our programming during SIFAT's Learn & Serve summer camp.
