I miss the suits and gadgets from Spider-Man 1, imo the suits and gadgets in Spider-Man 2 aren't unique at all and feel so bland.
They kill off so many villains but didn't have the gall to actually kill off Harry. Lame. That would make Norman's animosity towards the Spider-Men actually make sense.
I actually agree and why the fuck did they give miles a shitty garbage suit during venom’s invasion and also made my boy peter so fucking weak and pathetic in marvel’s Spider-Man 2 but so god damn strong in marvels Spider-Man 2018
@@cooperscheider7197 facts. I won't be buying Spider-Man 3 on release because of how they fumbled what made their take so enjoyable in this one compared to the 1st. Peter gets shit on constantly and cucked by MJ and Paul in his comics. Why can't we have one consistently awesome iteration of Peter? Is it honestly because he's a white straight male? He apologized profusely to MJ even while she's in Scream mode and she doesn't even apologize half as much. Miles taking over as Spider-Man isn't something I'm against but can it wait till AFTER we have Peter vs Norman???
@@charlesbomerschein9707 I agree that totally makes sense of miles taking over as spider-man after peter vs Norman but peter should’ve taken a small piece of the anti venom and have it bond to harry while he was unconscious and if I was Peter I would let harry die in the game because apart from knowing peter and Harry are best friends and the time at high school that’s all we know about them in the game
To some extent I believe Norman is just using Spiderman-men as a scapegoat. His sanity and good natured lies with his family and Harry is the last straw. The goblin is in him already, just not the serum. Also remember, Miles powers comes from the spider that was in Norman's house. People tend to forget that Harry was in the same lab Miles spider was. Who's to say they weren't using that spider in some way to heal Harry but just didn't care as much cause they had the symbiote project. So that room had everything in it to heal Harry. They were tracking Devil's Breath, Symbiote in the tank, and Miles spiders.
The only one thing from that room hasn't made its debut, which is the goblin serum. Peter is basically wearing an inproved Symbiote that would save Harry. A spiderman that was birthed from the spider you made for you son. Then you have Devil's Breath something that was intended to heal his son basically almost bankrupted and tarnished his rep. Which is even crazier that he went to Otto for help.....

Honestly I’d say it depends on the POV of the player tbh. If you want story you’d choose SM1, if you want gameplay you’d pick SM2 🤷🏽♂️

For some reason everything Spider-Man 1 feels better to me. Even the slow web winging feels relaxing and you actually see so many colourful buildings and people on ground level. Instead of swinging and flying like rocket.
That being said I still love spider man 2.

Spider-Man 1 has the better story, villains, better gadgets & better sidemissions. Spider-Man 2 better gameplay, swinging, suits, boss fights & dual Spider-Men. Both are amazing games though, had fun with both
Side missions in Marvel's Spider Man 2 are better because in the first one is more repetitive and unnecessary filler. Spider Man 2 improved that by reducing the repetition and less filler
Villains in Spider Man 2 are better too
Side missions in SM2 are better and gadgets are more balanced than his previous. Also villains, Mr. Negative is a far better character than he was in SM1, I found Kraven much better characterized than the rest of the villains in the series... and Venom is simply Venom.

There are more missions in the first game. But the sequel includes things people requested after the first game.
The side missions are better because they are less repetitive and less filler unlike the first one. The first one has unnecessary filler missions and are more repetitive. More content doesn't mean better because quality over quantity. The side missions like Mysterio, Wraith, Howard and Grandpa side missions are all better then the side missions from the first game.

@@laronajohnson3176 the story was top tier with multiple twist and well acted, the dlc was a great add on which led up to miles and sm2. It was plenty of shit to do in the game from the 50 photos idk how many book bags, research stations, task challenges, you could replay bases and hideouts, and they gave us 2 side boss fights. The interaction cutscenes was great and it was multiple I think it’s just 1 in the story of sm2. And the gameplay was pure 🔥 niggaz underrate all the gadgets and suit powers we had. It was the best PlayStation game I’ve played in a minute at that time. The only thing that I could legit find that was wrong with that game was the suit selection.

it's been interesting watching your feelings around msm2 slowly shift towards the negative over the months. personally i would be interested in a deep dive analysis of the story of msm2 from you - im sure it would at least be better than most of the video essays on yt.

They really need to step up their game with the crimes cause they fucked them up so bad.
They could do so much: save somebody from a burning building, stop a bank robbery, stop smaller/lesser known supervillains, stop a boat carrying drugs, save a kidnapped person in a moving car, chase someone with your web shooters disabled, save someone hanging from a building. They could make different vehicle chases where you need to get in front of the car to stop it, or where you have to web it up, or hang onto the car by a web
They are both incredible each with its own set of flaws, as nothing is perfect and anything can be improved. Miles and 2 have a lot of improvements that get overlooked because the original is somehow immaculate now. The biggest problem is the constant revisionism about how perfect Spider-Man 1 was while forgetting the amount of flaws the game had, yes they completely stuck the landing with that ending but did anyone really forget how weirdly paced Act 1 and 2 were, the MJ/Miles missions, the so-so boss battles and side content, how gadgets made you OP. It's strange and it's wrong imo.

I really really like the general gameplay of spider-man 2, but at least let me play it! Every time there’s a side quest or main mission there’s a very high chance you’re not going to actually engage in the gameplay.
i’ve been replaying Spider-man 2 Ng+ i hope in SP3 they have more in depth combat it’s improved for sure but arkham combat clears. i just need some more combos
Both are great. Insomniac said they wanted to do so much more with the third Act of Spider-Man 2, but Sony rushed them because.. Sony. Also why only 10% of Tony Todd’s lines as Venom was used. One of the cons of being owned by Sony, I guess. Miles Morales is the only game in the series where you can freely use any Suit you want in any point of the Story, and I really wished that stayed.
But after playing and platinuming the game, I can’t really go back to Spider-Man 1 because:
1. Gameplay
2. Amazing 2 Suit and New Red And Blue Suit
3. Faster Web-Swinging
4. Pete FINALLY throws actual punches in combat instead of kicking almost all the time.

I like the corner-tether swing mechanic, and the "bounce-up" combat moves in SM2, but I like just about everything else better in SM1.
I miss all of Pete's gadgets, especially the trip mine and impact web. Stealth felt way more bland without those.
Spider-Man 1 is 100% better
2 improved the core gameplay but everything was way more polished in the first, the storytelling the characters, the side content everything was honestly perfect

It's a huge improvement from its predecessors like combat, traversal, boss fights and MJ segments. Combat is more improved because it has depth like it has more combat varieties like spider arm abilities, symbiote abilities and Miles' bio electric abilities. It also has parry feature which adds depth to the combat. And there is rage mode. You don't just use square button, you also use R1 and L1 buttons too.
Character development is amazing too like each character arr given good character arc. The villains are brtter too because they have quality villains while the first one has more quantity villains.

- It didn't treat Peter like a side character. Miles was the one that took the back seat.
- Peter wasn't nerfed as both Peter and Miles got equal amount of defeats. You act like as if Miles got 0 hits. Miles was beaten by Sandman, Scorpion, Kraven (off screen) and Venom. Miles was also captured by Kraven. Not to mention, Peter beated more baddies then Miles. Peter did most of it on his own. He beated Lizard, Kraven, Wraith, Scream and Venom. Miles only beated Mr Negative and Mysterio on his own. So yeah, Miles was treated like a side character instead

Peter is so different in each of the games how is nobody talking about it, he obviously looks like a different person but his personality is worse, he is no where near as funny or feeling like a strong leader anymore, it’s a great game but Spider-Man 1 and the good old days of being spider cop won’t be topped, as of now
but it's still the same peter parker, it's a development and even these games have some of the best adaptations of spiderman

This is also one of my points. Peter felt like a side character in spiderman 2 and we saw miles to much. Peter has always been the main character. He was such a bad ass in spiderman 1 but in miles morales game Peter became weeker and felt weird. In sm2 Peter was nerfed and was not that good. Just bought a ps5 and started playing games again. Trying to decided where to start and looks like I’m going with spider man 1 remastered since it’s $20 cheaper and is at least equal or better than 2. Last spider man game I played was on ps2 btw :)

I did enjoy the gameplay more in Spider-Man 1 because of the gadgets and the different ways you could use them, and it made stealth the better of the two. The gadgets in this game are really for crowd control.
But the gadget wheel slows the game for a bit to select then you use that gadget, it takes away the challenge though. In Marvel's Spider Man 2, you have to be quick enough to use them.

Damn I was late to the party and just picked up Spider Man 2 having never played either. Looks like Spiderman 1 was a much better thematic tribute to what Spider Man is, but good to know the new one has the most up to date gameplay mechanics at least. Isn't it supposed to have a better open world aswell?
yep but they were rushed by Sony to release this game last year on the holiday so some parts of the map need tweaks because they are glitches

*Web swinging:* The second games swinging is definitely better than the first one, but imo the Miles Morales one is way smoother.
*GamePlay:* I’ll say both but at the same time the first game. And that’s mainly because the first game gave us more fight scenes and more things to do, the second game is good tho.
*Side Missions:* Both
*Villains:* Both
*The Story: The first one, the second game’s story is alright but it’s not as good as the first one.

Spider-Man 1 is like Arkham City, Spider-Man 2 is like Arkham Knight, Miles Morales is like Origins, and I think Spider-Man 3 is going to not be like Asylum, but like its own thing. Hopefully it’s better than all of these games bc Insomniac can learn even more.

For me 2 for gameplay and 1 for story.
I love the first game for it's story structure and multiple plots they tied together like a knot, but for me marvel's spider-man two has good game play and half of the acts in marvel's spider-man two were good but had some sort of bad execution everything else I give to marvel's spider-man that includes side missions and more selections of suits and characters among that teases for dlc.
I do enjoy side missions from peter's first game, was sort of good as well.
I loved the variety, of villains we fought in marvel's spider-man one they had unique interactions with peter.
I love, the side missions more in miles morales as well both have memorable side content.

@@rhinuu045 only Doc Ock but if we are talking about the rest of them then definitely all Marvel's Spider Man 2 villains clears everyone else in Marvel's Spider Man 1 (not counting Mr Negative since he appears in Marvel's Spider Man 2 and was given a good redemption arc). For example Kraven, Lizard and Venom are better then the rest of the Sinister Six, Shocker, etc.

Spider-Man 2 would def be better for me if it got a DLC. My only big issue with 2 is that the world feels empty and fake. Need more swinging/chases, actual finished side missions, way more crimes, and more factions. The game has great mechanics but it doesn’t give you outlets to use the mechanics.

The Vulture story could’ve been expanded by having his granddaughter Tiana Toomes aka Starling in the game. She’s a girlfriend/friend of Miles in the comics. Tiana and her mother were abandoned by the dad who was Adrian’s son and for years Vulture was giving the mom money in order to help their living situation. Tiana knows that her grandpa steals but she still loved him and he even made a suit for her and taught her how to fly. At the very least it could’ve been a side mission. It could also be explained that Adrian improved on his granddaughter’s suit so it wouldn’t give her spinal cancer like his did.
Tiana Toomes does in fact exist in the 1048 Universe but for some reason she hasn't showed up in any of the 3 games
@@cjgamer6356 I know she appeared in the prequel novel to Miles Morales but not entirely sure how cannon it is and the story sounded weird in my opinion. I just think it’s a missed opportunity for Insomniac not to use her in the games especially with the introduction of gliding in Spider-Man 2. We could’ve had races against her.

It's been three games and we don't know shit about her family. Like only her aunt has appeared in the Spider-Man 90s cartoon and that's it never to be seen again and she's one of May Parker's friends but weirdly her parents and I believe her sister never showed up in any of the Spider-Man comics, tv series or video games it's so bizarre. There was no mention or name dropped from Mary Jane like why are they dead or something. If Mary Jane dies at the end of Marvel's Spider-Man 3 and we still don't know anything about her family I'm going to be pissed
2. Peter Parker creating the Iron Spider legs
Remember in Marvel's Spider-Man when Peter created the Anti Oct suit for the first time instead of just magically having it out of no where it's so weird that Insomniac Games didn't show how or why Peter didn't created the Iron Spider legs
3. Kirk Coroners wife and son
4. Emily Osborne
We know what she looks like thankfully and that what she does for a living but it's so sad there wasn't at least any flashback cutscenes of her interactions with Harry and Norman before she died from an illness and Norman became distant with Harry but since Harry kind survived the same illness that killed his mother it would have been nice if Insomniac Games does something different and have both of Harry's parents be alive instead of killing off his mother like it's a Canon event
5. Black Cat stealth missions
In the Arkham City and Knight we get to play as Catwoman and it's awesome I wish insomniac would do the same for Black Cat
6. Miles Morales school life
Like we have one scene of him in highschool and that's it I wanted to see the school and hero balance for Miles Morales and see more of his teachers and classmates like Kate Bishop and Barbara
7. Karven the Hunter vs The members of the Sinister 6
It's so random how Kraven killed 4 of the Sinister 6 off scene instead of on scene. It would be cool to see The Spider-Men fight the 4 of the Sinister 6 and also protect them from Kraven at the same time only for them Kraven to somehow knock the Spider-Men out of his way and kill their enemies right in front of them making Kraven more of threat
8. Mary Jane Watson's co workers at the Daily Bugle
It would be cool to see Mary Jane interactions with her co workers like maybe she work with Eddie Brock, Betty Brant, and Robbie

Spider-Man 2 has web wings. Everything else is better in the first game for me including combat. I miss my gadgets so much and I've never been a fan of games that have both a perry and a dodge so I miss the first game only having dodge. Make no mistake I did not find this game difficult because of these things it's just a matter of preference. I played SM2 legit only one time through, I played SM1 8 times through.
They should make a spider-man game with 4 stories before the sinister 6 happened where they focus of the 4 other villians electro vulture rhino scorpian
They’re killing off the villains because Spider-Man’s (Peter Parker’s) story is coming to an end. Spider-Man 3 that comes out in 2028 will be the final game with Peter Parker’s Spider-Man because he’s gonna die in that game. I’m almost sure.
Peter can't die since he has Anti-Venom, meaning the symbiote can easily regenerate him and he basically solos every villain now. This is also Insomniac's Spider-Man we are talking about, so this story is different compared to the ones we've seen before. This time Peter won't die and will live happily with Mary Jane

Spiderman 2 is fun but it took alot of features like the suit mods snd powers from the first game the story isnt as good imo and the first game had better side quests and enemy variety and ive experienced alot more bugs and crashes than compared to the first game which is a shame because i was really excited about this game just for it to be a lesser game and many regards.
The first Marvel's Spider-Man game ALSO has a better OST, IMO.

He is still grieving Aunt, He is behind on his bills, Harry is dying and etc. He is under so much stress which makes him do careless mistakes which is why he almost died like 4 times in the game. Pretty Much a Spider-Man 2 movie situation with Tobey Maguire. The story for SM2 could've been so much better smh.

Bossfights - more or less the same (Spiderman 2 bossfights get repetitive by when we get to the 3rd health bar overstaying their welcome).
The villains - Spiderman 2018 (task master was low key a better Kraven because he actually observed and when the time came trapped Spiderman)
All in all I remember wanting more of Spiderman 1 2018/remaster. I felt nothing after the first playthrough of the sequel and didn't even finish my second playthrough because of the tedium.

The problem is..i have plaued spiderman 1 mutiple times in a row and i never get bored. But when i go for spiderman 2 act 3 gets me so bored..i have to complete the game 5 times but i always get bored of act 3. Very lack luster. Also peter did not have the symbiote as long as i would of hoped. The first always keeps me hooked. All 3 acts are brillant. The villans are so good. Mr negative was a true villan with him and the demons. And he was the main villant for the first 2 acts but he was perfect. Spidey was also great. I mean he beat the shit out of the sinster six. It felt more like spiderman

Salvage1009 i hope u see this comment cuz i got a list of missed opportunities for u to talk about if u make a missed opportunities video so here’s my list. It’s a lot of words just warning you now.
1. Web Wings and Iron Arms should’ve been made on screen in a cutscene. My reasoning for this is because what makes Spider-Man cool is that he makes his own shit. Like Miles making his own suit being unique to himself. Seeing him and Ganke work on making a new suit is a good emphasis on showing Miles’s talent and smarts. Same for Peter when he makes the Anti-Ock Suit. Like something about seeing the characters actually making these new toys on screen is just a good idea. Simple but effective. For the Iron Arms the real missed opportunity here is for Peter to go visit Doc Ock in the Raft dressed as Spider-Man. And Peter can be like “hey bro i got an idea for iron arms, take a look and tell me what u think” then Doc Ock says some nerd shit and then Peter takes Doc Ock’s advice and makes it. And as the sprinkle on top, have Peter get a call and he’s like “I’m kinda busy at the moment what’s up Miles?” and then he’s like “On my way” that way Doc Ock can deduce that the other Spider-Man is named Miles. So when Norman visits Doc Ock in the end credit scene Doc Ock knows who the Spider-Men are when Norman asks him if he knows who they are. Cuz realistically Otto shouldn’t know Miles’s secret identity but this way it actually makes sense. Now back to the Peter and Otto iron arms thing. I think this was a missed opportunity because if they had done this and had Peter visit Doc Ock and Doc Ock helps Peter with the Iron Arms, then this shows a parallel between the first and 2nd game. Cuz this is twice that Otto has helped Peter upgrade his suit. First time was when he suggested to put a white spider on Peter’s suit. Now he’s helping with the Iron Arms. Alright that’s it for this one i can’t think of anything else to say about this. I’m done. Moving onto #2
2. The Peter vs Miles Boss fight. This is kinda minor and not a big deal but when i was fighting Peter an idea popped in my head that would’ve made this game even better. So a few seconds before u fight Peter in his last phase u see 4 black tentacles around Peter cuz he picks himself up after being knocked down so when i saw that I immediately thought “holy shit! how badass would it be if Peter started moving like Doc Ock cuz he has 4 tentacles like Doc Ock and then as Miles you’d have to break each tentacle with electricity or something idk” like that was such a missed opportunity man and i wish so much that they did that.
3. Show more villains dying. Like Kraven supposedly killed Rhino off screen since it’s been revealed that if u glitch the game u can see Rhino’s head hanged up or something. Like how tf did Kraven kill that giant motherfucker? I wish i could’ve seen that. Like an easy way to expand the story while also showing how badass Kraven is, is by showing him actually killing people. Like Shocker and Electro and Vulture etc like wtf. Why didn’t we see these kills take place? We r just told that they happen like whyyyy??? Also why tf did Kraven kill so many? Like why did they write it like that? That was dumb like i get it, have Kraven kill off like 2-3 villains so we get an idea that this guy means business but don’t kill too many of em like wtf. Also another small missed opportunity would be to see Kraven kill a villain in front of Spider-Man. Like if someone dies under Spider-Man’s watch like how Mr Negative made that guy shoot himself in the first game if we got that to happen again. That would be sad and fucked up to see Spider-Man like trapped under rubble or something and he watches as Kraven kills a villain and Spider-Man unable to save them. This would also play into Peter perhaps thinking he’s not a great Spider-Man and the symbiote plays on that part of Peter and makes him think he’s a better Spider-Man with the symbiote. Like he even says it himself “It makes me a better Spider-Man”.

This fits perfectly into Peter’s idea that he’s not a better Spider-Man until he gets the symbiote so it makes him want to keep it more because there were multiple occasions in this game where he either almost couldn’t save someone or he almost died himself.
Also cmon i feel like my suggestion for seeing Peter build the Iron Arms is valid. Like it’s kinda lame that they just kinda give them to u like nothing. U don’t unlock it through the story. Cuz i mean dude what if in the next game Peter builds a Nuke and blows up the city. And u could ask yourself “how the fuck did he build that?” and then Miles chimes in like “oh yeah Peter ready to bust out the new toys” like cmon dude. Like we all had a good feeling when watching that scene where Peter gets his white spider suit and seeing that cutscene where Miles makes his red and black suit. Like u can’t tell me those are nitpicking. If we got a scene with the Iron Arms being built and then maybe a montage of them being tested out that would’ve been cool to do. It also helps to extend this game cuz like i said it feels hella short.
Alright i’m done ranting lol. It’s just this game was really hyped up, it was supposedly Game of the Year and they just DID NOT DELIVER like damn. A phenomenal game for sure but like dude in my opinion if we put the web wings and iron arms and all the webswinging shit from this game into the first game then it would just be the perfect game. The main thing that holds Spider-Man 2 down for me is it’s story. Which is sad because it seemed like we had a good box to work with, with Kraven, Lizard and Venom. Anyway i’m done 👍

It’s a good game i had a great time. It improved on the web swinging and some combat mechanics like parrying but i do wish they kept that same level of performance for the story like they did for the first game. There’s so much they could do with this game and they gave hope that this was gonna be great but it just didn’t hit it. They kinda fumbled but not too hard. But fumbled enough to where it’s noticeable. Also just another little idea i wish they incorporated. I wish like Boss fights broke the formula of being in a small dome arena. Like my favorite boss fight from the first game was the fight with Vulture and Electro. U were forced to be in the air and always on ur toes cuz you’ll either get Pikachu shooting thunderbolts at ur head or bladed wings from Vulture it was just really awesome. I appreciate the phases and health bars that was neat but god damn dude why tf did Scream get 4 phases? Like no other villain in the game has 4 except Scream. Wtf. If anything Venom should’ve had 4 phases. That was really annoying fighting Scream 4 times. But that is a small nitpick i’ll admit that. But back to my original point. It would be cool to see boss fights move around in different parts of the city. Like in that trailer where we see Peter and Miles fighting Venom like i would love to have that happen in a game. Overall there was just a lot of bold choices that Insomniac could’ve and should’ve made. But they played it safe. Too safe. Which is sad because this is a reflection on people in today’s society. Everyone is scared of being too much of one thing. Everyone is scared of making someone unhappy. But I say fuck it just make some bold choices and go with it. They said this game was gonna be darker than the first game. When i heard this i genuinely thought “oh shit Peter could kill someone with the symbiotes influence” but they didn’t do it. Like bold choices like that. I will give them credit tho. I like how Peter said sorry to that girl that he couldn’t save. A girl almost died at Coney Island until Harry helped. That was good. We need more shit like that. Cuz i mean heck Spider-Ham said it himself “Miles, the hardest thing about this job is you can't always save everybody.” Alright lol i’ve said enough. I love both games but I like marvel's spider man 2 a little more just because the enemies and bosses were more difficult and they had health bars I can beat Marvel Spider-Man 1 on the hardest difficulty but in Marvel Spider-Man 2 once I got up to the lizard fight I gave up and switch to the normal difficulty they take way more damage on you so yeah I would say Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is the better game just because it's more challenging
Marvel's Spider-Man is definitely better it's the best superhero game since Batman: Arkham City. I think Marvel's Spider-Man 2 was a downgrade because the story was lame and the villain was even lamer I think people over hype it because of Venom. I will always prefer the first game because it has a special place in my heart just like the Arkham games.

The side missions are better because they are less repetitive and less filler unlike the first one. The first one has unnecessary filler missions and are more repetitive. More content doesn't mean better because quality over quantity. The side missions like Mysterio, Wraith, Howard and Grandpa side missions are all better then the side missions from the first game.
It's a huge improvement from its predecessors like combat, traversal, boss fights and MJ segments. Combat is more improved because it has depth like it has more combat varieties like spider arm abilities, symbiote abilities and Miles' bio electric abilities. It also has parry feature which adds depth to the combat. And there is rage mode. You don't just use square button, you also use R1 and L1 buttons too.
Character development is amazing too like each character arr given good character arc. The villains are brtter too because they have quality villains while the first one has more quantity villains.

It's hard to say for me. They both have really good stories, probably some of the best Spider-Man stories outside of comics, but I feel like the first game is far more iconic than the second and I was more invested in the arks. I also highly doubt they can top that first swing... As for Spider-Man 2, it had more emotion with Peter's decline (not saying Otto's decline had no emotion) and the MJ missions were far less annoying and on rare occasions, mildly enjoyable. Can I forget the playable Venom mission? Hell no, that was simply epic.
As for the boss fights, although Miles vs Peter might just be my favourite boss fight out of the current Insomniac trilogy, the Peter vs Vulture/Electro boss battle was something new and I hope they do something like it some time down the line.
Overall, I'd say in their own ways, they're both number 1 and I cannot wait for "the final chapter".
Breath of the Wild imo is better than Tears of the Kingdom.
All the side missions should have led to a mini boss battle. For instance the drone chases could lead to a fight with the vulture.
