HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 11 июл 2021
- This episode comprises our adventures around Strangford Lough, Northern Ireland as we experience the highs and lows of cruising in the off season. We roam around the Castle Ward grounds, enjoy the fall colors, walk through livestock fields and find another ancient standing stone. We learn to sail off the mooring ball, endure some stormy weather and have a close call with some shallow banks.

Welcome to our Panda Journey! We are a couple who escaped the zoo of cubicle life with a goal of #sailing to new places, #exploring interesting cultures, and generally having a grand #journey. We are going to learn a lot on these adventures and hope to share our inspirational motto of #DoWhatYouLove through our #vlogging.
❤️Made with real Panda love❤️

I have been a member of Quoile Yacht Club all my life. Great to see people discovering and enjoying the place I get to call home.
Ah that is fantastic! Thanks so much for watching, I'm glad you enjoyed! 🥰
N. Ireland is similar to the Clyde entrance and in winter is was light at 9:00 ish and sundown around 4:00 pm. Winter was depressing or boring unless you had a hobby. It was also strikingly beautiful as well ............. Pubs opened around 4:00 ... enjoy
It was certainly a new challenge getting used to so little daylight! Luckily there was a lot to explore to keep us entertained :)
The places you guys go. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank God you are one of those people. CO detector just saved your life.
Still embarassing making such a silly mistake with the generator, but happy that the CO detector works!
Exciting journey! Really miss protected anchors when mother nature decides she is grumpy.
Ahh yes, protected anchorages 😌💭
Glad you enjoyed the journey! 🐼❤️
So amazing to see you guys enjoying the adventures. The views and scenery are quite awesome. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to more.
Happy to hear you enjoyed the episode! The scenery was quite stunning, especially in the autumn.
A great video you two! It looks like you can really beat the crowds by sailing mid November! We really like the friendly openess of Northern Ireland, we always learn something from you videos! Keep having fun. J&J
Thank you, it's our pleasure! It's certainly less crowded, but more cold :) Had a great time sailing in Northern Ireland and learned a lot too!
"If you can see the mountains, it's going to rain. If you can't see the mountains, it's going to rain. :-) Glad you like Strangford Lough, the narrows are an interesting and terrifying dive btw.
Haha, there were definitely more rainy days than sunny ones! Had to take advantage of the good weather days when they arrived since it was becoming so rare.
Woah! Diving the Narrows?! I can only imagine how terrifying it could be getting caught in that crazy current (up to 7.5kts!!) and cold.
Awesome video as usual, feel like I’m there in Ireland. So glad you you were ok with that generator scare!
Thanks for watching! Glad you're able to share in the experience 🥰 we are also super happy the carbon monoxide detector works 😅 cuz sometimes we can make stupid mistakes!
hey guys im from killyleagh ive grew up on the lough!! great to see you enjoying our town, the castle had a crew of american g.i.'s there before going to france during the 2nd world war
Oh wow! Thanks so much for watching ☺️. We loved the area. Such a nice spot to sail and explore 🥰
@@OuterPassage glad you guys liked our small port 👍👍
Great video. I have to say I am ashamed that I live about 5 miles from the Northern end of Strangford and you have explored it more than me! So many questions for you. How did you get the boat here? Where have you travelled from? Are there any mooring fees or permissions required to sail about the Lough? (I am aware there are some restricted areas you need special permission to dive in.) I would like to spend a few weeks afloat on the Lough but maybe at a time when its a bit calmer. Glad you enjoyed the Soda bread. Nice plug for Warren, who owns the bakery who made them.
Good luck for future travels.
Drumlin country
Always good to see your adventures! I can imagine off season sailing in that part of the world is off season for a good reason...
Thanks for watching! There are always compromises ;) but overall we were happy with our time we got to spend there and enjoyed the beautiful scenery!
At 11:16 you can see the yacht club I’m a member of
Edit: or 13:37
Hi, nice episode. What is the song playing at 10:00?
Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed the episode! :)
The song is To Weather a Storm by Dan Lebowitz
Ireland looks beautiful. But Ireland in November looks like it beat you guys up. Its not all smooth sailing and smooth Guinness.
Then again the med in summer time can be painful too.
The Guinness helps though ;)
Haha, so we are learning too!
Hot hot lady!! Great video!
Thank you and glad you enjoyed the episode!
