Perfect Strangers is probably going to be one of songs where I will forever miss Steve Morse.... Those tiny little additions and updates he added especially into this song are simply gone - and I never expected that I´ll going to miss them so much in one of my favourite Deep Purple songs ever. :( It sounds much more "empty and bare"....
My thoughts go the same way. Ritchie gave birth to it but Steve made it a diamond in live concerts. Now the guitar is unbelievably dull. And Deep Purple with dull guitarist is a ghost of itself. Sad. The others are top notch.

Incorrect. Some of the early live work by RB was awfully self indulgent waffle. And disrespectful to the other band members. Absolutely no doubt he is responsible for many extraordinarily wonderful riffs. The SM era produced a huge amount of very enjoyable music and live performances. Really hoping they get into the studio at least one more time with Simon M to see what happens.
That's ridiculous this guy has a great tone he's doing a good job if Steve did an exceptional job that's awesome and I know he did and he's one of my favorites but to say this is horrible yeah it seemed a little empty but it's not horrible f****** organ was great and the guitar sound was great he did a perfectly good job you guys are obviously not musicians it's not easy man
Still have this album. Perfect Strangers. I think I wore it out. When this came out bought the album and cranked it up for the young neighbors across the street who listened and surprisingly loved it. Not what they usually listened to.

Exactly, this tune sounds like cardboard! Steve gave it and the band so much life.
