  • Double Bull makes the finest blinds on the planet. I've had several over the years, but the new Surroundview 360 is absolutely amazing. But it won't replace my Deluxe.
    Blinds make turkey hunting very enjoyable, and they serve a valuable purpose in the dedicated turkey hunter's arsenal.

    And how long do those elastic bands last?? I have found that they work great for the first season. After that they are loosey goosey. Especially if you run an ozone generator.

    I wanna see it in the dark, early morning or later afternoon when you have to use a red light, can you see inside then?

    On the surround view 360 could a guy mount shoot through mess to that blind easily? Or is there no place to mount hooks to hang it over the shooting window?

    I wonder if that 360 material would conceal you if it didn’t have a roof and sunlight entered from above. I’d like to have a open top for wing shooting crows in my pecan orchard. I’ve got 3 natural blinds and full head to toe camo and they spot me because they know where my blinds are. These are the crows that live here year round. The northern crows that migrate south in winter are much easier to shoot than the locals. I called the company that makes these blinds and ask that same question and if they made a open top blind and if not, do they sell the material so I could make a open top blind myself and they hung up on me. Bad customer service.

    On the 360 view if it rains does the rain get inside of the blind wet or does it block the rain from getting inside

      I’ve hunted in it twice during a downpour, and it stayed fairly dry. But not 100%. Like most blinds in a heavy rain, there will be a little drippage. It is a mesh-like material, so a sideways rain will make its way inside.

    There’s a couple problems with these surround views I see happening. 1.) the perforated walls of the blind are going to allow sent to be carried out of the blind, as well as frigid winds to blow in. 2.) sound concealment won’t be as good as with a traditional fabric sided blind. The view is great, and I’m glad they have a black backdrop option, because without it, this blind would be useless. I don’t know. I’ll have to think about this more, but I’m thinking the deluxe is more appealing at the moment.

      As a turkey hunter, I don't pay much attention to scent. That being said, they don't let much wind through (so they probably don't let much out). Some wind gets in, but not much. I'd say you get more breeze from the open windows than through the mesh. Primos did a pretty good video where they took a wind speed measurement with a big fan blowing outside the blind, then showed the wind speed inside. It was pretty minimal. They also demonstrated wind inside the blind with a wind checker powder bottle. Also pretty minimal. I've hunted out of a 360 surround view the last couple years, and I love it. The only complaint I have is the weight and the blackout screens. It only comes with one, so I had to get another. That and the blackout walls are kind of a pain to put up.

      @@honkerh8r564 well, you’ve gotta have an open window to shoot, and even my old double bull has the shoot through netting over the main window. I hunt deer and elk out of mine, so it not just scent, it’s sound concealment too, which a solid fabric design does cut down on. I’d have to sit in a 360 to know for sure, but that’s good to know you’re having success with it.

      @@progradepainting3755 It's been a good blind for me so far. I have the Double Bull Deluxe, and I don't really notice more breeze inside the surround view. The other thing I'll say is that the big door that you don't have to zip up on the Deluxe is way better than the kind of old school zip up door in the 360.

      @@honkerh8r564 yeah, the door on the deluxe is definitely a nice feature. I can stand the old zipper design on the 360 if it truly gives some advantages in visibility.

    Does the wind blow through this?
    What is it like to run a heater in it?

    • @Outdoor-Pursuits
      @Outdoor-Pursuits  2 года назад

      The wind does come through it more than a different material, and I’ve not used a heater in it, but I’m sure it would add warmth, but also scent if that’s a concern. I love both blinds a lot!
