Larissa is a medieval acropolis located above the city of Argos in Greece
In 1821 the castle at the summit was captured by Demetrios Ypsilantis, a Greek officer who served in the Greek and in the imperialist Russian army. He played a major role in the Greek War of Independence by fighting several very important battles.
