I'm another one of those people who never realized that HB's bomb exploding did collateral to his brethren. I can't say with certainty that I'll be able to always strategically use that info, but it's good to know! As my current Splashtag title says, "Thank You for Horrorboros"
Small extra note abt Tri Splashdown and esp Reefslider that you kinda mentioned but due to (what I think is the reason) Horrorboros being comprised of many different sets of hitboxes, they all individually take damage from Tri Splashdown and Reefslider's explosion, so they both do scarily good extra damage to them. Dunno the exact numbers but i think it's a couple thousand Good guide!
My eyes light up when I see a rotation on Sockeye where Boris is the King, and Hydra is included in the comp, because it basically means I'm either standing at the top of the hill and unloading on the bomb with the Hydra, or I'm guarding the Hydra user. Whatever the case may be, there's a good likelihood I'm getting the max number of scales for that shift!
Lovely guide! I thought the clips did a wonderful job showing off the tips you gave :) Really helpful seeing the strats in action. Tbh I think the hardest part of Boris for me is keeping track of the bomb 😅 it feels like I'm always spending tons of time chasing the bomb, but being too slow and never getting good angles to shoot it. (And right when I catch up, he shoots it off....) I'm excited to try some new strategies now to improve my game :) Cheers
Boris is part of the year of the dragon theme like hydra splating, plus i am born in a year of a dragon. I think that Boris bomb explosion might revive teammates, but i am not sure if this is true. I am pretty sure that you can damage boris's bomb and boris's body with a well timed kiler wail, and triple inkstrike on the floor. (I hope that i am not included in one of Joe fights because i know that I was in one your matches that involves in a Joe the first time I bump into you.) Awesome video, especially the knowledge of fishsticks and lids. Ps you posted this right after my birthday.
I think the general idea is to keep all three of them grouped up as much as possible. Megalodontia’s bite attack will one-shot Horrorboros’s bomb, which explodes, damaging both of them. If you can keep Cohozuna nearby, he’ll get hit too.
I've heard the best strategy is to use Megalodontia to fully take out 'Borris, hopefully dealing as much collateral damage as possible to Cohozuna in the process, while focusing most of your damage output on Megalodontia.
@@davidhower7095 yes, but is so much going on that is hard to understand what is happening at any given time. High Tide specially, it may be the easiest for colateral damage, but keep you and your teammates alive is hell
Even though I knew almost everything to do with this guide (other then the dynamo boris trick holy crap I'm gonna need to try that) I found the excessive amount of bomb exploding soothed my adhd brain.
Great Boris guide! Despite him definitely being the easiest King to beat, he's still my favorite just because of his dragon-like design and the way you fight him. He's the only King whose gold badge I would like to have on my Splashtag, but according to the app, I'm less than halfway to 1000 kills, so I won't be getting it anytime soon... Question: That tip about the Dynamo Roller and Slammin Lids/Fish Sticks around 11:44 is really neat, and I definitely wanna try it out, but would you recommend attempting it with other rollers? Sure, they wouldn't do as much damage as the Dynamo, but would it still be worth it if you see the opportunity, or should we not even bother? Either way, glad you were able to get this out before the end of the month like you wanted to! Thanks a bunch!

I prob wouldn’t attempt with the others and they might be more useful doing other things. Idk though, it’s worth trying for fun!

I almost exclusively use it for Kings, very rarely for bosses. I find the DPS from Crab is only matched by Grizzco weapons or a few weapons like Hydra and Wellstring. So unless I have them, I’ll use Crab for Kings.

Boris is my favorite of the kings. Gorgeus design, gorgeus hell scream, and overall just a fun and satisfying fight

That Junction rotation with the Hydra and Boris, wonderful. I ended up with Hydra on high tide extra wave fairly often and it was glorious

I really hate fighting it in jammin salmon junction as that it takes too long to get to the other side.
Horrorboros is definitely the hardest king for me so this guild will hopefully help
