Hillary for Incarceration I like people who are concerned about grammar and that actually fix their punctuation and spelling errors after receiving a tip without getting triggered. It's extremely rare these days. Apparently they aren't teaching spelling, punctuation, and general grammar anymore in school. I'm sick of the lower case letters and constant run on sentences with no punctuation. You damn sure wouldn't catch John 5 dangling his participle or misusing his colon during a big show...
He said in a podcast one time that when he was younger whenever he would meet his music idols, some of them would be kinda rude/dismissive to him so since then he's tried to treat everybody the way he wants to be treated.
John seems like a really down to earth dude. His bit about paying respect and playing something like the record when he wasn't the original guitarist was really cool. Most guys want to inject a song with their own style to make it about them, and hearing someone say the opposite was refreshing.
You're totally right. The guy asks questions without a cheat sheet. And they're all good questions. The whole thing is a conversation, not an interview and this makes it great. Also, John 5 is the best interviewee as well. Good combo!
He reminds me of my brother, who is also an AMAZING guitarist. He _always_ had a guitar in his hands. He had hilarious little theme songs written for all the pets and family members. He'd always start playing it when one us walked in the room. The music was always perfect too. That's what made it hilarious. We had a disabled friend who walked with a limp and a cane - and you could totally hear that in his theme song. It made him laugh every single time.
''I try to play it just like the record''..Thats the best thing , that he gets why thats important to the fans. Case in point: In 1971 when I was 14, I bought the album ''One World'' by Rare Earth. It was pretty good RnB /rock, really tight with a good horn section. Went to see them in Macon and walked out mid show. Turns out that the tight band on the album were basically sessions pros hired by the band's producer. What we got onstage at the Macon Colesium was not the dozen or so players including horns featured on hits like ''I Just Wanna Celebrate''.We got 2 guitars, bass, drums and keyboard. Loose sloppy ,noodling ''interpretations '' of the songs we paid to hear. No conga player, no horn section with the hot sax player. Kudos to you John 5 for respecting the songs and the fans.
I am an old rocker guy who is more into classic rock, things like Marlyn Manson or Rob Zombie are not where my interests lie- but John 5, even though he plays for both of those is a very unique guitarist and one I have come to enjoy. I still don't listen to his work with the two previous acts I mentioned and yes that's his bread and butter, but this guy can play just about anything. Notice 99% of what he is playing during this interview is country style? I have seen very few guitarists that are equal to his skills and not just how fast he can play but what he does with the guitar to get different sounds from it. Very cool guy and seems like a hard working, nice all around guy. His band, The Creatures, are great artists as well, they both can keep up with the best!
John 5 was in Manson and in Zombie because he loves the aesthetics of Manson and Zombie, he grew up with the loving of Monsters and that shock rock stuff tbh he could probably play those main riffs with his teeth if he wanted too. I think Manson was waaaay to crazy over time for John eventually as John is Straight Edge and over 2 albums that lifestyle was too much Rob Zombie is more mellow and a dirty 70's chill guy like John. I am a Classic Rock also, but LOVE Manson, especially when he hit in 96/97 and came out as a ROCK STAR! Killing that media manufactured Grunge scene. Zombie's o.k, but Manson is an Icon.
Thats like the cutest, candid interviews, John playing and answering question, and the cat not caring about anything in the world. Great guys! Pleasure watching and listening...❤️🤘😎
Because of his amazing talent and being down to earth, it is so worth buying his album and merch. His band is awesome to see in concert! To hear it live, wow just wow. Mother Metal 💀 🖤
He has done a lot of session work in Nashville He's probably on more stuff than you would think Glad he's getting some props Might have to check out one of his signature guitars
Nice job keeping on track with John 5's playing while you're asking questions. If PRS ever makes a T-style guitar, we know who needs to do the press interview.
John must have a huge brain to play like that and answer questions withouth mssing a beat or asking what Mitch said! Awesome interview from two very knowledgeble guys!
Funny as hell, he picks the guitar back up and the cat sorta looks at the camera then jumps down as if saying “I’m used to being second fiddle to a guitar. I don’t like it, but I’m used to it”
I can't wait to see the day this man gets to be enshrined in the Rock Hall of Fame (between his work in Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie, i cannot think of a guitar player from the last 20 years more deserving)
John 5 ranks just behind Buckethead for the world's greatest guitar player. Let me blow your mind playing while I listen to your question then answer it in the most humble way possible.
I want to murder out a Tele along the same lines as John's custom Tele models. Something inspired by his, but suited to me. He can really make a guitar do things and make sounds almost unheard of. A true pioneer on the guitar.
Sweetwater needs to invite John5 to play at the Sweetwater Pavilion in 2020 along with The Y's guys even tho the Y's Guys would more then likely already be playing there
I'd love to see John 5 and Greg Koch from Wildwood Guitars jam! They both have such an unlimited amount of ridiculous licks!! They could do a Country chickin pickin' duet that would completely RIP your face off!! Lol
It’s weird how much I enjoy watching John 5 just casually playing the guitar, yet dislike the final product of his recording so much. But clearly others enjoy his work, so it’s probably just my lack of good taste preventing me from enjoying it.
Eddie Trunk said it best, "no matter how good of a guitarist you think you are, there's always John 5."
Hillary for Incarceration he's always practicing that's why he's that good
The closing quote should follow the period...or are you deliberately trying to say 5 inches?
@@rharris51 Thanks for the grammar tip.
@@hillaryforincarceration4404 im impressed that u edited it and fixed your punctuation

John 5, every interview Ive seen......he's seems like a super nice, really down to earth guy
Indeed
I totally agree. He is definitely a rare breed.
He said in a podcast one time that when he was younger whenever he would meet his music idols, some of them would be kinda rude/dismissive to him so since then he's tried to treat everybody the way he wants to be treated.
I met him briefly and he is genuinely a nice guy.
He is,met him last Thursday and he's so down to earth and friendly. Videos on my page
John 5 always makes me want to buy a telecaster.
I know! I should have rock collecting instead of guitar as a hobby lol. So much 💸💸💸
I need a telecaster badly. but first I need to buy a suhr classic pro
Me 2 man guitars are my crack. Kj play's upgraded Harley benton's and MiM fenders. Kizzy
I agree. You can't go wrong with a classic tele.
I thought the same, i played one and bought it. Every guitarist should have one, they are wonderful guitars.

Mitch can’t be beat in the interviewing dept. He remains a great ‘frontman’ for the best music company in the world.

The way the cat is involved in this video is amazing
Ya. Truly amazing...dork

Always humble and a total pro!
What a man! LIMITED GEAR, PURE SOUND.

Such a professional down to earth. Love his onstage theater, an original.
I bought him that Creature pin. That’s so freaking cool
I can really imagine John's Wife trying to talk to him about something and yelling at him to stop playing for 5 seconds. ;D
Because of his amazing talent and being down to earth, it is so worth buying his album and merch. His band is awesome to see in concert! To hear it live, wow just wow. Mother Metal 💀 🖤
John 5 is an amazing player and good dude. Try to see him live. He really inspired me and my playing has really improved since.
Same ive learned little licks and riffs from his songs and its definitely improved my playing!
What an exceptional human being. I admire the hell out of this dude.
Great interview. I love listening to him talk and how me makes it look effortless
Really cool interview. Great questions.
Can't help to pick up a guitar while watching John 5. Cool to re-learn the Paranoid riff once again. 🎸
This guy is really amazing!
best John 5 interview ! Good job !
One of the best guitar player in the world.
Awwww that cat. As adorable as John.
unbelievable player.

So damn humble. What an inspiration.
Another great interview, Mitch; and thanks, as always, for the inspiration/motivation, J5!!!

I think John 5 may have stumbled into being the coolest guy now.
John 5 is amazing !! Totally cool dude !!
I truly envy John, he's insanely talented and he absolutely loves his job. And he gets to hang out with Rob Zombie. Good times!
John is a phenom, a humble guitar god, quite possibly the GOAT!
John 5 Best six string slinger period!
This is why he's that good, he's playing and practicing all the time
Awesome interview!!!! Great questions and John is the best!! Five people that still can’t play power chords disliked this!
What a cool guy! A new fan for sure. Awesome guitar player🎸
what a great guy!
The most versatile guitar player ever!
Best part of the interview. 15:55. Hilarious!!!
Great interview and playing
Mad skills & soo chill 💯🤘🏽🎸
Not looking at the fretboard while playing super fast scales and answering a question at the same time. 🤔🤷🤘🤘
Such an excellent guy wow
I respect John 5 and yes love your instrument it helps you get along.
I’m a self taught guitarist. John 5 is one of the top 5 guitarists alive if not top 3.
John 5 has god-like talent without the god-complex. He is truly a great, humble musician and individual. And thanks to him, I own a Tele. :)
Two of my favorite guys, love the cat too!
Very cool.. A true master of the instrument.
I can't wait to see the day this man gets to be enshrined in the Rock Hall of Fame (between his work in Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie, i cannot think of a guitar player from the last 20 years more deserving)
It's going to happen - as soon as he's been around for long enough.
Fantastic advice fr John. Play what u like. 👍
John 5 is such a sweet guy, talented guitarist
John 5 is beyond ridiculous! Let's not forget his first public performance was a flip in the crowd in Skid Row s Piece of me video
John 5 ranks just behind Buckethead for the world's greatest guitar player. Let me blow your mind playing while I listen to your question then answer it in the most humble way possible.
"Play what you love" best advice ever. Also, I would add figure out what you love on your instrument by ear - no notation, chord charts, or tabs.

Anytime a man puts his guitar down to pick up his cat, you know you're dealing with a quality human being. Or Creature.
John5 is the man

Hope I get to make it out and see John 5 (w/ Zombie) this summer in Rockford IL. Surprised to see you guys coming to town.
Great interview
John 5 a nice humble man a true eclectic artist true artist AWESON QUINT ESSENTIAL ROCK N ROLL GOD THANK U JON
best cat interview in years.
When are you coming to Vancouver, John?
Legend
Great interview! But why did you guys add camera shake to the wide shot? Made me nauseous...
Great interview. The constant side to side camera wobble made me seasick though.
😂 great sense of humor
I had always thought of the Telecaster as an old man's guitar.
But then I saw John 5...
"That's a lot of fun"
Is John 5's playing hypnotizing the damn cat? Lol🙀
Sweetwater needs to invite John5 to play at the Sweetwater Pavilion in 2020 along with The Y's guys even tho the Y's Guys would more then likely already be playing there

I gave a LIKE for that sweet kitty cat!
Same with the playing while im on the phone thing.

Whose more versatile guitar player John 5 or Phil X
John 5 is tha shit!!! 🤘🤘🤘.
That John loves kitty-cats makes me love him twice as hard!
I always wondered if John 5 would sell all his Fender Teles if he ever tied the Strandberg version lol.
Is that Mr. Bigglesworth after the unfreezing process?
Where can i buy that Tele? I cant find it online

that cat is an alien!
I always love Teles....and now, once again, I know why ;-)
Apparently, he'll be playing the villian in the upcoming James Bond movie.
Makes me think the question : Slash vs John5
