Which is weird because playing early 2000 style trance 20-25% faster isn't a genre. You could literally find any trance compilations from then and play it at 1.25x speed and you would have a back catalogue of a genre that doesn't exist.

@SlainByTheWire I disagree because sextrance pretty much is a genre and a subgenre of trance. It has its technical specifications which differ from regular trance sound (fast tempo, just like in freeform hardcore and distorted "lofi sounding" instruments giving it that specific feeling). That means it theoretically isn't limited to being just edits of other songs (unlike nightcore which requires to be a pitched and sped up edit of an already existing track of any existing genre. which in my opinion doesn't really feel like genre at all. more like some kinda way of remixing/editing) and practically it really isn't as there surely are many artists doing they original sextrance stuff
